    Taking the knee

It started in the premier league during the BLM riots in 2020 following the Great George Floyd's tragic passing at the hands of a policeman though.

    Taking the knee

I personally know someone who works at Brentford, I know they had a meeting and agreed to stop the knee in Feb last year , BBC reporting all 20 clubs support this, I strongly suspect they haven't got much choice.
  3. Don't think I'll do it mate, looking at £120 return from Kings Cross , takes the piss really, cheaper for those with railcards or maybe a group ticket
  4. Have stayed in Premier Inn a few times up there, usually a decent price and good location near Quayside It's a bank holiday weekend, brilliant nightlife up there will be a lively Saturday night. Can't imagine tickets will be a problem, train fares are sky high and not many will fancy sitting on a coach for 7 or 8 hours.
  5. Should have treated yourself to a padded one as a special occasion 👍
  6. Exactly on Sunday other than the "centre" blocks the Kingsland had plenty available but the next morning they'd be taken off sale , I think it's because Northam sales are so low it will encourage people to buy there instead .
  7. I think the club are messing around with the ticket site, on Sunday afternoon a mate of mine booked in Kingsland North block 38 and about 90% of the block wad still available, someone else went to book Monday morning and the whole block had been shaded out, no way did that whole block suddenly sell. Most likely sales are low for Wednesday in Northam (Chapel was already closed) so by restricting availability in the Kingsland they'll be able to spread the crowd around a bit. Doubt there will be more than 8k on Wednesday
  8. Adrian Kajumba is a good source, I've met him a few times, he was based down here at the echo for a while and has good connections in the game that he's developed.
  9. I think you're right, our income only just covers the wages, not much left for paying off a loan or new signings.
  10. https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2021-07-30/southampton-fc-supporter-guidance-for-safely-visiting-st-marys Seems a fairly sensible laid back approach from the club for the friendly games, the games we could attend last season they said no bags allowed and food concessions were closed but looks like that is back to normal.
  11. Who is the u23s left back this season? Whoever is developing in that position is going to have a chance to break into the team unless Perraud does well and stays fit. Wouldn't surprise me with Saints if cover is really KWP moving to left back and Stephens or JWP slotting in on the right.
  12. Get in there 💪 Bet the people paying £80 or whatever it is going to be for the Man Utd game will be horrified to find out the club allowed the great unwashed the privilege to to sit in there first £10 adult £5 kids
  13. I've not. In fact I've purchased one for the pre season friendly for the bargain price of £10 to be the first to sit in one, hopefully I won't spill any of my balti pie on the pristine new padding Actually just noticed they've already been used at a Queen gig so not such a special occasion
  14. Fair play to Leicester's owners, amazing investment in infrastructure. I remember St Mary's design allowed for Upper tiers to be added but still at some considerable cost, we'll have to make do with some newly decorated toilets
  15. Yeah just tuned in and got to listen to Tears for fears
  16. Is there live radio commentary?
  17. Genuinely interested, my match day would involve travelling on public transport, going to a few pubs, ground, few more pubs, maybe a bite to eat somewhere. If the only place where passports are required is the football do you really think it will make much difference?
  18. I used to watch the u23s quite a bit and before that the "reserves" , having a couple of older heads to play with the young lads always used to be how it was done and makes sense to me, although I think too many Saints squad players get no competitive football at all so I'd like to see some of those in B team occasionally as well. Hopefully we'll be allowed to attend the games at Totton this season.
  19. Would have thought we'd hear in the next few days mate. Some teams have had normal allocations pre season ,I know some Villa who went to Stoke and Leicester at Burton last week and everything was pretty much normal for them , they weren't test events.
  20. If they're pregnant on the way in for the jab Ron and I think we can be fairly sure it's not related ! Has any testing been completed for the impact on fatility ? That seems to be one the unvaccinated are most concerned about.
  21. Well that's not very nice now is it egg. I'd be lying if I said you hadn't hurt my feelings but on this occasion I'll let it slide. You have digested the government fear mongering and psychological damage will take a while to recover from. One day when being asked to produce your papers you may pause for a moment and remember this thread.
  22. Hi Charlie 👋 Got your tickets for the friendlies next week? I'm sorry somebody questioning the governments motives with the implementation of vaccine passports makes you feel uncomfortable, it might be a side effect of the vaccine, go for it with the ignore button 👍
  23. Thanks mate, done a bit of research myself, I've printed off some HANDS FACE SPACE posters, will sanitise hands on entrance with a temp check and ensure they remain 2 metres apart from each other at all times with a one way system to get to the bathroom just to ensure we all stay safe.
  24. You and your kids sound great Whelk. My young ones want to have some friends round and I'm a bit worried about what covid protocols I should have in place, have told them I'll just check with Whelk on Saintsweb to see how it's done, can you help?
  25. “A substantial number of people still do not feel sufficiently personally threatened. The perceived level of personal threat needs to be increased among those who are complacent, using hard-hitting emotional messaging.” Susan Michie and Robert West, SPI-B (behavioural science subcommittee of SAGE)
