  1. Unfortunately I think you're right, he's done here.
  2. Agree, they don't look like Burnley at all playing with freedom, some great movement going forward.
  3. Standard was awful wasn't it, best scenario today, tough 120 mins for them followed by a morale sapping defeat on pens, dropped out of the play off places and go to 2nd place Peterborough on Tuesday night. Surely they won't miss out on promotion again?
  4. That's right, they really hated Nigel Adkins as well. I used to work with a Brighton season ticket holder until recently, he always referred to us as scummers, full of shit, I got fed up with his claims that their new stadium made them biggest club on the south coast (and for a while they were higher than us in the league) , bit of a chip on their shoulders.
  5. Our record against managers with ex-saints connections is also very good this year, Wilder beaten x2 and Potter x1 , another good omen. Brighton's next two games are v Saints and v Newcastle, massive fixtures for them before a tricky run. Would say they have to go for the win on Sunday. https://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?386455-**-Southampton-v-BHA-**-Premier-League-Score-Predictor-Now-in-its-10th-SEASON-!!
  6. It is, not a good trend, but of those 24 how many were KWP and Forster in the side for?
  7. I assumed he was the bloke who used to pretend to live in Kenya, or is that him as well ?
  8. We're unbeaten in our last 8 against Brighton, but for some reason we always seem to win away and draw at home, can see it being same again, 1-1
  9. I've watched all of their last 4 games 0-0 v Villa 0-1 defeat at West Brom 1-2 defeat to Palace 1-2 defeat to Leicester They really should have won all four of those games, such a strange side. Not sure if that means Brighton are due a bit of luck and a win or if they're just destined to keep clutching defeat from the jaws of victory. Looking back we were lucky to win at their place earlier in the season. They did well in the their win away at Anfield holding on to a 1-0 , but that doesn't look so impressive now. Lallana will be fit this time as he doesn't have to worry about taking stick from the fans.
  10. I think with a defence so disorganised as ours parking the bus was never an option, we had a left back at right back, made no sense to me as it weakened us on both sides, Salisu is so raw and seems to hate the physical side of the game, and we missed an opportunity to see Forster in a game when he'd be tested. But there are benefits, we were never likely to get anything so back to strong line up on Sunday, KWP is going to be a key player for us next few weeks. Thought Redmond played well, and Adams looking sharper, his offside goal was a good finish. With a more organised back 4 against Brighton we can get the points to pull us away from the bottom. Souness seemed to think we'd "Get sucked into it as we concede so many goals"
  11. Ralph is just using this game to experiment and try out a few things in case needed this season, Bertrand out of position a few times at right back, Stephens in the middle. McCarthy all over the place, should have been a pen to City and a sending off.
  12. Exactly. Walker Peters and Diallo fair enough, not match fit yet , but can't agree with Tella and Forster changes as well
  13. I used to play centre back , communication with keeper so important so don't agree with all this changing just when Forster building solid relationship with centre backs, we've just aiming to take a 4-0 defeat tonight and move on to Sunday.
  14. Or could he be right back in a back 5? Don't agree with dropping Forster, defence need settled keeper behind them
  15. Tella should be able to feature, he came off after 77 mins on Saturday, he could probably play 70 again and use our subs wisely. As long as no injuries in first 60 mins bring on 3 changes to reduce the impact on key / struggling players. Weather forecast for torrential rain all game, not sure if that helps us when I think back to the Leicester 0-9 .
  16. Thats my hope as well, Ely, Carillo, Hoedt and Lemina combined is an eye watering sum of money in transfer fees and wages spent for a club like us.
  17. That's really low isn't it , how much did we sign him for from Juve? £18M I think? FFS what a disappointment that has been.
  18. Never mind the last 6, if you took the last 19 games I'm pretty confident they'd be a good few points above us. The team I think will go are Newcastle, poor run, injuries, manager bust ups, but they did beat us so might be able to scrap a couple more wins. Brighton baffle me, they seem to play well and miss a ton of chances every game.
  19. One of the most disinterested performances ive ever seen from a Saints player, should not be forgotten, do we have an agreed fee already with Fulham?
  20. Took the opportunity this afternoon to watch Man City and compile a scouting report. City are fucking shite, nothing to fear.
  21. Of course we "should " , doesn't mean we will. Before yesterday we'd won one game in 15 with momentum going against us. Brighton are such a weird side, they've been the best team against West Brom and Palace and still managed to lose both, were unlucky to lose to Leicester, perhaps that's a sign they'll go.
  22. He was excellent for Fulham today to be fair (as was Reed). Lemina looked a £25M player.
  23. These sort of smug comments are unnecessary, don't think anyone said Fulham were winning every week, just that they are not as bad a side as their position suggests with momentum in the right direction, we weren't far enough ahead to be complacent.
  24. Feels like we've been stitched up a bit with this one, game due to be end of April when City could have been distracted by Champions league semi final etc, instead they moved league cup final to that weekend and squeezed our game in now. At least we'll have a blank weekend end of April to have a rest I suppose, could be useful when rescheduling FA Cup semi final and final games.
  25. Try to keep the score down and avoid any injuries, City might start taking their eye off the ball with Champions league and other cups coming up, league title all but done. Perhaps don't risk Walker-Peters with much more winnable game v Brighton at the weekend.
