  1. Why bother posting something like this? A quick Google search would show you Sport Ops have been around for years and run trips for every team that gets into Europe and England games. Plenty of people I know have used them and never been let down, sometimes costs a bit more than booking independently but ideal for fans who like everything to be arranged stress free. I'd recommend them.
  2. If you are going via Istanbul that price looks about right for flying with Pegasus, a number of people I know are booked on that airline / route from Stansted so you should be fine. Proper adventure this one, having read the government advice for travelling to Israel no doubt there will be some interesting stories exchanged in Beer-sheva of various journeys done to get there. I had thought we'd have a low turn out for this one but looking at the numbers booking we may get close to selling out which would be a top top effort.
  3. agreed, no common sense to it. They'll end up putting the remainder of the tickets on sale so close to the match day it doesn't make sense.
  4. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/20160831-europa-league-tickets-hapoel-beer-sheva-southampton-3282431.aspx Ridiculous price! and stupid ticket priority scheme ! No way will we have 800 who fit into that category who will want a ticket.
  5. This guy is having a laugh I think - he's basically offering to book flights for you and upping the price as the airlines to, completely different to other providers like Sport Ops I thought the club would have announced their packages by now, don't think they'll ever get the hang of this. This is quite an interesting article I like the look of their old ground https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/aug/16/hapoel-beer-sheva-israeli-title-celtic-champions-league
  6. It's ridiculous that the club have not released any details of their packages yet considering they set time lines for when that info was going to be provided. The majority of people have quite rightly gone ahead and booked independently to get the best fare, however for small allocations (I'm thinking Prague) the club will almost certainly hold back tickets again for those on the official trips, this could make a huge difference if we have 900 tickets with a couple of hundred reserved for official trip.
  7. In theory this should be a big game with our most realistic chance of Wembley and silverware but of course as this is a farce of a competition this is not worthy of much discussion. The entry into this was designed to give some of our promising youngsters a chance for some competitive games but as the fixtures coincide with international weeks anyone called up to u21s, u20 u19 won't be able to play , for example O'connor has been called up by Ireland. Charlton are only bothering to open lower tier of side stand for this.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I can't PM you as I can't afford the membership fee of this website but will keep an eye out for your posts. Do you think there will be any issue travelling from Beersheba to Tel Aviv on Friday morning?
  9. Good to see the club have already opened up blocks 43 and 44 of the Northam stand for the Europa league bundle, an opportunity to make it a proper full home end all stood for European nights. I can't see many away fans attending the games at St Marys unfortunately, Prague will have the most I reckon partly thanks to many Czechs living in the south east. Inter don't travel particularly for these sort of games.
  10. I've been doing a lot of reading for Israel - clearly the only trip that needs some proper research in terms of travel, we'll be there on the build up to Jewish new year on 2nd October which will impact travel / hotel availability as locals also travel around a lot. Sounds like a great place will try to visit Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and a night in Beer-sheeva. Hopefully our new Israeli posters on here will share some advice.
  11. i think that is fair statement in England, but not abroad, i know Fulham fans who were attacked on the metro going to FC Twente away, and Spurs have had quite a few occassions; http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/10411146/Italian-football-hooligans-jailed-for-unprovoked-attack-on-Tottenham-Hotspur-fans-in-Rome.html http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/european/tottenham-fans-attacked-in-brussels-pub-ahead-of-spurs-vs-anderlecht-after-belgians-threw-bricks-and-a6704106.html What happened to some England fans in Marseille as well is a good example. for "nice" trips should hope for; Athletic Club Bilbao (ESP) 75.142 Braga (POR) 43.116 Dundalk (IRL) 2.590
  12. Claude says Sunderland have a good defensive block? With Kaboul sold to Watford, Kone banned from training ground, o'shea went off injured last week and Cattermole is injured , I don't want to hear excuses about their defense being strong.
  13. I think I speak for most saints fans I know when I say the dream draw on Friday would be SHAKTAR DONESK BATE BORISOV SOUTHAMPTON ASTANA bring it on.
  14. I really think affordable travel rather than tickets should be the primary concern. I've attended many Europa league group games as a neutral across a wide number of countries , big and small grounds and generally games do not sell out, even if you don't get a Saints end ticket there's usually the option of the home end, in a lot of these places they'll just let you in the away end anyway. Think I'd still prefer Inter to Roma. Have been to both grounds and you only need to ask Spurs, Man Utd and Middlesbrough fans what Roma's hospitality is like, especially the night before the game. Annoyingly for San Siro for years they gave the whole lower tier as famous pics of Ipswich / Newcastle had but now they stick you in the upper tier nowhere near as good. Dundalk in Dublin and Bilbao away for me.
  15. Tonight's Evening Standard back page; ARSENAL COOL ON FONTE AS HE EYES MOVE TO OLD TRAFFORD James Olley - chief football correspondent Arsenal are unlikely to pursue their interest in Southampton defender Jose Fonte, with the club convinced he is set to join Manchester United. Blah blah goes on to say "the 32 year old has been offered a new contract but he is believed to be keen on a move to Old Trafford. All parties believe that the deal will happen before next Wednesday deadline. "
  16. Remember we will also get to see many of these lads on the "road to Wembley" in the CheckaTrade Cup, Charlton away next Tuesday, plus we also visit Colchester and have Crawley at home, i'll probably just do the game at St Marys but will be interesting to see how they get on.
  17. I went to the game last night, really enjoyed it, free entry, had an excellent seat half way in the Itchen watching a very competitive entertaining match. At the back our centre back pairing looked good , McQueen continued to impress at left back. Reed and O'connor controlled the middle of the pitch. Hesketh our most promising player I think, having made it into the first team in 2014 against Burnley and Man Utd he's strengthened up a lot. Where has Johnson come from? Looked very strong out wide.
  18. Will be interesting to watch Sunderland v Middlesbrough now, hopefully a few injuries / suspensions for next week. This is the view of a Sunderland fan, they lost their manager well into pre season and have been frustrated by transfer activities with Kaboul heading to Watford and Kone refusing to play. Surely a good time to play them? We also have an extra couple of days preparation and they have a midweek EFL cup game. "Firstly I'll be there shouting whoever turns out for The Lads on Sunday. But I've got to be honest I'm well & truly ****ed off with the latest goings on at the club. What seemed like a real strength of togetherness after the Chelsea & Everton games last season I thought we actually had something to build on, this has seemingly turned to dust. After the last few years of struggling to feel an affiliation or real bond with the players I thought in the likes Kaboul & Knone we the fans finally had that. For me the club have acted very naively through out this summer (you could count to numerous mistakes prior) For me questions need to be asked about the adminstration at our club & it's ambition to build a team that compete at the level. I'd be interested in the thoughts of other fans? For me it's very much over to you Mr Short & time is running out to sort this mess we find ourselves in."
  19. Hard one to call, other than the 8-0 game we often seem to struggle at home to Sunderland, I can see this being a one game and if it goes the wrong way for us I expect the short tempered members of our fan base to begin aiming discontent at 'clueless Claude' We definitely need the first goal
  20. JRM

    U23s

I think they are home to Manchester United next Monday evening at St Marys for anyone who wants to see them in action
  21. I think the disappointment comes from the fact we finished last season so well with tremendous momentum and it feels like rather than carry that on we are starting again from scratch. Not surprising with new formation and of last year's 1st XI we were missing Bertrand, Fonte, Wanyama, Mane, Pelle. I think we lacked a true test against a Premier league style team in pre season, all the games I saw lacked a spark and we're played in 2nd gear. Will be an interesting test for Claude at Old Trafford next week, could do with out first choice back four for that. Høijberg to start instead of Ward-Prowse I think.
  22. Better let Les know so he can up our targets in the transfer market. Good for the club to cash in but still a pain for fans. On a personal note I find Sunday games to be frustrating, can't enjoy sociable beverages in the evening and has a negative impact on the atmosphere, also harder to find cheap rail fares . No Saturday home games for three months is crazy.
  23. Cortese banned Illisngsworth revoking his season ticket I think due to criticism of him . I don't have full details but I recall Nick's case was upheld by the football Ombundsman. I was in two minds before but will definitely be boycotting Charlton away on August 30th. The letters West Ham have sent out saying stewards have been briefed to deal strongly with anyone standing at the new stadium are also a joke. They had about 6000 regularly standing at the old ground, seems they don't want those fans anymore . Atmosphere will be awful at the 'London stadium'
  24. No they have said there will be one other away game for us after Man Utd that will be subsidised, plus a Europa League Group bundle ticket subsidised, hopefully that will be a bargain and we get 3 sell outs.
  25. it is a annoying that every away team will look at Southampton as a good away day, cheap tickets with a big allocation, (in fact for most teams coming to Saints will be the most tickets they'll get all year, at the cheapest price) just hope it will see others follow suit and we'll start being offered £20 tickets elsewhere as well.
