  1. I've said it before, there just isn't any edge going to our away games anymore which changes the fan dynamic and atmosphere. When we were challenging for promotion there was a lot at stake on the pitch and we were also a big club who were not well liked by other smaller clubs we came up against, now days we're seen as irrelevant by most clubs, no rivalry or threat. We need an old school relegation battle to get it going again. Atmosphere at Norwich v Newcastle sounded good - you can sense what was at stake.
  2. I think Chaplow said he's going to play. I'd expect Hammond and Billy Sharp to come down with Adkins and certainly Lambert perhaps alongside Connelly. Dan Harding probably as he's only up the road. Personally I'd prefer it if Lallana and Schniederlin don't play, would prefer Guly, would be good to see Jos the Boss back as well.
  3. I really can't see there being a huge rush for tickets for this game so i don't see why people are worried about getting their own seat. If you want it that badly login the day they go on sale and sort it out , but i think we'll get about 20k for the match which will still be decent on a Tuesday night for a game marking the end of career for Kelvin who has been a reserve keeper for last couple of years. i have very happy memories of the promotion years so will probably go along, might even wait and pick up a ticket on the night or once they've confirmed who will be playing for the promotions XI. A lot will depend on how the end of the season goes, if we finish well and get a European spot the feelgood factor will boost the crowd.
  4. yep, agree with this, Monday night away game on Sky - i'd struggle to justify time off with the impact of the rest of the week on work, however a half day on a Friday and it would seem an attractive fixture. only 10 games next year so chances are we won't be on anyway though.
  5. I agree , when affordability of football is assessed often the moat expensive seats make the headlines but the true test should be cheapest seats available. I think the corners should be £25 for Cat C games like Arsenal do. Attendances have been good this year we must be averaging nearly 31k and have had to sell extra tickets for quite a few games where away fans have returned a lot of tickets (like Newcastle where we've sold blocks 43 + 44 to home fans) , that might change next year if more teams bring the full allocation with the price cap.
  6. Price reduction is always pleasing, i notice behind the goals has reduced to £570 and is the same price for renewals as it is in the wings, but wings / corners are still cheaper for new season ticket holders than behind the goals. it looks like the cost for new season ticket holders has actually gone up? Will be interesting to see what the match day price is. good to see a lower price for the 18-21 category.
  7. Quite funny seeing how excited they get about some international call ups, good reminder that they are still quite a small club at heart. They've had such ridiculous good luck with injuries this season it would probably be hoping for a bit much for a few of their players to return from international break with slight knocks ruling them out of our game. http://mobile.lcfc.com/news/article/lcfcs-international-involvement-a-big-statement-for-schlupp-3019819.aspx
  8. i watched it again on Match of the Day2 on record last night and it is really noticable, the 3rd goal goes in and within a minute or two the camera is shaking with the noise levels, sounded fantastic and no doubt made the hairs on the back of Lovren's neck stand up.
  9. It's about time we got a bit more angry as a team when things aren't going well, good to see them taking it out on the ball smashing it into the back of the net. Pelle got himself psyched up as well helped his game.
  10. I really think this game is there to be won, Leicester have been sneaking through games 1-0 and not been as convincing over the last few weeks, the international break could disrupt their momentum as well , has anyone got a list of their players who have been called up as well as ours? We've even got a few first team players with u21s so should imagine the training ground will be quiet for next 9 days. I know Wanyama is in Kenya's squad, often it's him, Mane and Yoshida who come back late and struggle the following weekend so good we are playing on Sunday giving us the extra day. Bet Koeman will be off to his Algarve retreat for a few days in the sun again. Would be great to nick this and look back on Van Dijk's last min goal against Sunderland as a turning point.
  11. That's interesting, I wondered if he was in the squad as he was sat in 1st class on Southampton to London train yesterday lunchtime.
  12. i don't buy this though, we've had games recently where Saints have had a break and yet we've looked the more tired team - Chelsea at home for example. I didn't see the 2nd half of last night's match, question for anyone who did see it - did Liverpool look comfortable or did United work them hard? Emre Can is a player who has impressed me recently, and their midfields ability to run with the ball worries me. We are definitely due a result against this lot at St Marys after the last few games so fingers crossed Lawro and Cram are right.
  13. Crying on twitter at the hardship of having to stay and play for little old Southampton, oh poor old Morgan eh. Pleased with this news, hope he misses out on the Euros.
  14. Yeah that used to be the case but hasn't happened for a couple of seasons now. I see the game is now a sell out, but the atmosphere is never great at these early Sunday kick offs. The Manchester derby will be decent to watch in town after our game.
  15. Can't say i'm looking forward to this game really, the league cup game in December was a low point of the Koeman era. Hopefully Man United really go at them on Thursday night and take it to extra time with plenty of challenges flying in. with the exception of Austin we should be fully fit and ready to go , just not sure if Liverpool's tactics suit our style of play, i think Koeman will be cautious and play 5 at the back.
  16. We've got Leicester and Newcastle coming up in early April, so makes sense for him to be watching this game anyway i suppose.
  17. It's an odd one, when you look at how much Chelsea seemed prepared to spend on John Stones then factor in the new TV money he should be worth £40M +(i know it doesn't work like that though, with Alderweireld for £11M or whatever it was showing you can get top quality at a cheaper price) Really pleased with the result and performance at Stoke, it's given us a chance to keep our season alive for a bit longer.
  18. It will be interesting to see if Saints start to take the bigger allocation at some away games now, we've just taken then 1480 at Chelsea when we could have had double that, likewise at Man Utd
  19. wow fair play to them for that, we've been lucky always being Cat C and paying £26 there but i know fans of other clubs who have been done £64 this season, that's a huge saving for them. i pick and choose my away games now and generally only do the cheaper ones, (WBA £25, Arsenal £26, Bournemouth £33, West Ham subsidised £22) but might be tempted to do some of the more traditionally expensive grounds next season.
  20. They do sound confident, on a good run with important players returning to fitness shawcross will be a boost for them if passed fit. I think 1-0 or 2-1 defeat

    Pub before game

Definitely a shortage of pubs showing football now, is the Varsity still closed?
  22. you don't need silverware to have a museum, you just need to have memorabilia and an interesting history , and that we certainly have over the 130 years as a football club. I've been to many across Europe ranging from Ajax interactive experience with videos to Athletico Madrid which had fantastic photography over the years and a huge ticket stub display of big games they had been involved in. We could have a section of famous players who have played for us, kits, programmes, grounds we've played in , would get quite a few visitors from away fans as well i'm sure. This is a good idea, hope they manage to do it well.
  23. Fair play to Sunderland selling over 2200 tickets, good numbers to travel such a distance, if we can sell out block 43 it will almost be a sell out http://www.safc.com/news/ticket-news/2016/february/southampton-sold-out
  24. Apparently Adam Johnson is out for them. I'd like to see Clasie back in for us, possibly go back to the forward line we had at the start of the season with Mane, Pelle and Tadic.
  25. I don't mind Man City at home moving as it is a bank holiday weekend so can still enjoy the sunday , have a beer etc. The Leicester game moving to a Sunday lunchtime is quite inconvenient, can't see us taking the full 3000 allocation up there this year.
