They should get on and put the Kingsland centre tickets on sale, the Itchen stand is sold out with the exception of the corners so currently you only have a choice between that and behind the goal, i know a few who are waiting as would rather sit on the half way line.
-
Did he f*ck he completely bottled it, should have been more sending offs. Fingers crossed Alderweireld and Rose are injured. Spurs showed true colours at the end , bad losers
-
Very likely. If Sheffield United fail to win at Coventry on Saturday or if Barnsley win it will be confirmed that Sheff Utd can't make the play offs, no doubt Kelvin's team are hoping that happens so they can confirm Adkins, Billy Sharp and captain Dean Hammond for the promotions XI. I think Richard Chaplow has already confirmed his attendance.
-
The whole Northam stand is now on sale for this game, so if anyone has ever wanted to see what the views like in the away end now's your chance. As the 5 centre blocks of the Itchen 5-9) are showing as sold out they should open Kingsland Centre now as clearly many people would like to sit in that area.

No i'm sorry you seem to be deliberately trying to play down this season's achievements by simply stating that everyone else has been poor, but we have still accomplished a decent position in the top flight despite having fewer financial resources than many teams beneath us. You say 7th - 10th will be close but if we win at Villa and Stoke lose at Man City at the weekend we'll be 7 points clear of them with 3 games to go, Chelsea still need to play Spurs and Leicester so will also struggle to make up a 7 point deficit on us, i think we'll quite comfortably be top 8 and I applaud Koeman for that in a season that has seen us win at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and draw at Emirates and Anfield, some significant highs and i don't think we'll be far off last years points total. Obvious lows being performance in all of the cups (especially Midgetland (A) and Liverpool H) and some poor performances at Norwich (A), Bournemouth (A) Sunderland (H) , Villa (H)

Villa are in absolute disarray, the fans hate the owner and most of the players, the new board members have already resigned , the club is relegated and guaranteed to finish bottom, the players can't wait to get out of there , all of which points to a frustrating 0-0 draw. Hope our fans going up enjoy a good old St George's day drink up regardless of the result.

Hi Matthew, i'd invite you to come back here on Thursday morning to have this conversation, by then i anticipate ; West Ham will win at home to Watford Liverpool will win at home to Everton Man Utd will win at home to Crystal Palace. Liverpool will be 3 points clear of us with a game in hand, West Ham will be 5 points clear of us with a better goal diff and Man Utd will be 8 points clear of us. that will provide better context for this conversation. i stand by my opinion that our European chances have gone, would be very happy to be proved wrong.

I am one of the most optimistic fans going, but I am also a match going fan of 30 years and am well versed on a few facts; Liverpool will finish above us (just take my word for it, they will) Look at the run ins, we will not get more points than West Ham (or at least enough to overhaul their lead) Regarding the 100% again you'll have to take my word for it based on watching the games, off the ball last 10 mins at Leicester there was no one rallying the troops to give it one last go, we made it easy for them holding the ball in the corners. Newcastle we won without even trying and the same as at Everton we never really looked like we had the appetite to really go for it to be honest. We're starting to look like an end of season side winding down, hope we show more hunger in the last few games.
-
The season is over for us in terms of achieving European football but I still want us to go all out for the points. In my opinion for the last 3 games the team have not been giving 100% are showing signs of winding down for the season. We owe the 3000 travelling fans heading up there a decent performance, we were very poor against Villa back in December.

Anyone who wants to mark the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup win can get involved with this : http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14430659.Cheer_on_the_1976_FA_Cup_boys_at_Guildhall_Square/?ref=twt&utm_content=Southampton,+Saints,

yes as Liverpool have got through in Europe and now also need to play on the Sunday the games on TV are; 12.00 - Swansea v Liverpool 14.05 - Man Utd v Leicester 16.15 - Saints v Man City
-
Confirmed as the game stays on Sunday 1st May, but there is still a change - kick off will now be 4.15PM. More time in the pub pre-match on bank holiday Sunday.
-
any news on Shane Long ? could do with him being available to run at their centre backs Jamie Vardy style on the break
-
Looking forward to Baltimore away pre season. Although as it won't feature any players that are at Euro 2016 we'll be relying on Harrison Reed and Sam Gallagher to win over the US market.
-
I have the same unfortunately, such a shame to have Liverpool just finishing above us once again! I played around with a few scenarios but looking at fixtures of West Ham, Man Utd and Liverpool I just do not see us finishing above any of them.
-
it does raise the question why they didn't just schedule this game for the Saturday 5.30 slot in the first place and removed all doubt around the date. it is good news for Saints - City will definitely have a distraction having to play a semi final a few days either side of playing us, will affect their support as well, i can see from the Saints ticket website that Man City have already sent back tickets in block 43 of the Northam, wouldn't surprise me if they sent back more, their support is nothing like that of Man Utd / Liverpool / Spurs / Arsenal
-
Correct we'll only know after the draw on Friday
-
I remember the game well and recall feeling very privileged to be in the away end that day, our away support was bad enough in those days but due to being live on sky on a Sunday I don't think we had more than 250 fans there as even then Goodison was a ground we 'always lost at' . Think we might have also won at Anfield that season .
-
Haha good times mate, those clowns at Middlesbrough were hilarious great effort by those fans to treat us all to such fun. On that subject we need to start putting some serious thought into what fancy dress to wear for last away game of the season, last year we had Koeman day at Man City with orange wigs with Nick who runs Saints travel selling orange t-shirts with his own company name on , I think we could do better than that this year at Spurs, any ideas?
-
Despite the fact Everton are out of form, have one of the worst home records in the division, are playing midweek away to Palace on Wednesday night and have the distraction of the FA Cup semi final the following week every Saints fan should prepare themselves for a defeat in this one, over the years we just do not perform at Goodison so it is better to go there with the lowest possible expectations. (i notice there are plenty of tickets left in the away end for this one despite other aways selling quickly - looks like most fans are opting for a visit to Villa instead) I remember the Kevin Davies wonder goal in about 2000 and also winning there 1-0 in 1992 Cockerill scored i think , other than that about 20 forgettable games. Lukaku is bound to score as well. Looking at the table i can see Liverpool getting something at Bournemouth, Man Utd will win at home to Villa, West Ham have a tough trip to Leicester , important for us to get something to stay in contention for the top 7.
-
how do you know how much it is going to cost? does the app give you an agreed price up front or is it an estimate?
-
Funny when i think back a few years main "football watching " pubs in town were the Varsity (which is assume is still closed with nothing new there?) and at the bottom end of town i remember watching many a game in the Walkabout which had a huge screen , used to be packed in there if a big match was on, or after a Saints game, any idea what that building is used for now?
-
Newcastle fans don't sound very confident but when you look at some of the players in that squad they should really be doing better. I might have a couple of quid on Shelvey to score anytime, Andros Townsend often seems to do well against us as well. They've been a bit unlucky with Krul being injured for so long but interesting to read so many want them to drop Sissoko. http://www.nufc-forum.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=58315.0

Will be interesting to see if we take the full allocation for this game, and if there is any of the away fans fund left in the pot to subsidise the ticket prices with. Disappointed it is a Sunday lunchtime game, ending the season with 3 Sunday games in a row.
-
Newcastle's defence looks shaky, and they have a third choice keeper in goal, i say go for it and let's have an entertaining end of season game. 4-2 Saints my prediction. Last Saturday home game of the season for us, tickets sold out quickly which is impressive due to Cat B prices and the fact Newcastle sent back block 43 and 44 which have since been sold to Saints fans. They still haven't sold out, not how many will travel but looks like they'll have one of the smallest followings this season.
