No it's not. She's a scouser, like Rickie. Their friends and family are mainly still back home in the NW.

1. He's had a specialised injection, in the hope that an operation won't become necessary; But if it does, then the hope is it can be put off until the end of the season. 2. From memory, I think the next hearing is tomorrow. Hopefully charges will be dropped.

So, nuclear weaponry exists, but only USA, Britain and other countries that USA agree can have them are allowed to develop and keep them. Any countries that the USA don't want to have them aren't allowed to and will be attacked if they do. I'm not saying Iran would or wouldn't be dangerous if they had them, but what gives USA or any other country with nuclear weaponry the right to say who else can have it?

The best solution is MyWi. Works brilliantly. It's tough to find a working cracked version, but is worth the $19.99 or whatever they charge for it now if you're going to use it regularly (and assuming you have a TRULY unlimited data plan on your iPhone?)

This is the most brilliant post ever in the history of internet forums.

You could do 'Tanya' after me, then while you stir my porridge I'd do this:-

Thedelldays is correct. Barnard has had treatment and has to rest for 3-4 days. He will likely resume training on Monday.

Airplay introduced for iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch + Apple TV 4.1. Anyone with a compatible iOS device that comes to my house can now stream their music, films, tv, photos etc straight to our TV. With Airplay speakers you can forget having to dock your iPod/iPhone to play your music - just Airplay it to the speakers and carry on using your device for other things. With aTV Flash (black) imminent [bringing browser, other file format support etc] Apple TV @ £99 has just become immense.

If you can afford a MacBook (which I assume you can, because you were considering one) then you're an idiot for buying a Windows laptop. It's that simple.

I think he's right. Our mortgage being at 2.5% for the last 18mths has meant that we've been chucking more money into savings and an ISA, buying premium bonds and overpaying the mortgage each month in order to reduce the term. Sure, some people might've lost their jobs; But for the majority, particularly those with mortgages, surely things are great at the moment. All of this hoo-ha and calls for him to resign are stupid.

We're largely an Apple household, with 2 MacBooks, 1 Mac Mini, 1 iPad, 2 iPhones, 3 iPods, 1 iPod Nano and 2 iPod Shuffles. There is an xbox 360 too. We cannot use the xbox streaming without a Windows PC (although, having seen the interface and performance issues, I wouldn't want to either!). That is all besides the point. The Mac Mini does more of the web stuff on our tv than either the xbox or PS3. I'm actually talking about disconnecting the Mac Mini from the lounge TV and using JUST the Apple TV on it. The box is tiny, it's SILENT (hello xbox & PS3 owners: turn your tv sound way up to drown out that noise.) It costs £99. With the imminent release of iOS 4.2, we will soon be able to stream content (tv, video, movies, photos etc) direct to the TV from our iPhones, iPod Touches and iPad. Anyone coming to our house will be able to show their stuff from their iOS devices. Once a web browser is injected onto the Apple TV (or a 3rd party App will display the page you're viewing on the tv from your iPhone/ iPod Touch or iPad, then there's the perfect package IMO.

Anyone else got one? I'm loving it so far.* Up until now we've had a Mac Mini connected to the HD LCD in the lounge, acting as a media centre. This has enabled us to play our iTunes library through the tv or speakers, watch our video library, view photos, watch iPlayer and browse the net with a wireless keyboard and mouse etc. However, I'm thinking of disconnecting the Mac Mini and just using the Apple TV. I'll still run the Mac Mini in another room as an always on 'server' to stream music, film, tv shows, photos etc to the lounge through the Apple TV, whilst still being able to use it as a spare PC. Streaming to the Apple TV by selecting on the TV which of the computers or MacBooks in the house to grab media from is easier than doing it with the mouse and keyboard as before. When AirPlay is released in iOS 4.2, enabling us to send video straight from our iPhones or iPad, the final piece if the jigsaw is just one step away - that will be when the Jailbroken ATV2 can have a web browser installed or browser mirrored/streamed from the iPad/iPhones. I'm sure that day isn't too far away. I've even actually purchased a film rental from it too. Flawless, glitch-free and stunning quality. All in all, this is a great piece of kit.

No need to thank me for making it happen. If baj or stevie g want any more tips or advice on how to improve things here, don't be too proud to ask.

Registered Users can only post three times in 24 hrs. Does it really make any difference if one of those is to start a thread? They're still only going to have two other posts left! There are no disadvantages, only advantages: - 1. RUs starting a thread about a new topic gives everyone something else to talk about (might even enhance the forum experience of FMs by having more threads and discussions.) 2. A RU is more likely to want to get involved in a lively and interesting discussion that they've started and are therefore interested in, but they'll only have two remaining posts - so are more likely to be tempted to pay £5 for FM status to do so. 3. The more lively the discussions become, the more likely some of the older and more interesting posters of old are to return (I don't JUST mean Wurzel when I say 'old'). The more that they start using this place again the better it will become and the more people may be tempted to pay up. The argument that it is a 'privilege' of FMs to be able to start a topic is ridiculous - 3 posts are 3 posts whether they're at the start, middle or end of a thread!

I started to think you were playing dumb just to try to wind up some people on here. Now I just think you're fairly thick and a bit of a d!ck.

Like I've said before the singlemost and simplest way of breathing new life into this forum is by allowing Registered Users to start new threads. They can still be restricted to three posts in a 24hr period if the powers-that-be still think this works. There is very little to keep Registered Users coming here if all they can do is use one of their three posts on one of the boring and stupid threads started by Full Members. If all they see is the dross that is currently on offer to be talked about, then there's often little point ion bothering; If there's little point in bothering, then they will not be engaged in the forum, will not be tempted into paying up their £5 to use it more and will eventually drift away. I think many have already reached the 'drifted away' stage. The powers that be might think they would be giving something away for free if they implement this, but if Registered Members are able to start threads about things THEY want to talk about, they'll be more likely to want to continue those discussions (rather than what they consider to currently be dross) and decide to pay the £5 to become a Full Member. It seems to me like business and forum suicide to not allow Registered Users to start new threads.

Do you mean have a healthy member base and a thriving community; Then, one day, start charging people £5 to use it with the promise of some fantastic new website, competitions and features - but then actually give them very infrequent and 2mth out of date news stories, watch the site become a shell of what it once was and watch the members drift away?

It was back in 2002, not a Southampton man, not a Southampton fan: but a Turkish immigrant who had been here only a short while. If this is the best that the Skates can do then who are we to argue. I couldn't find the original Echo story, but here's The Sun's report: - http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article148863.ece

How about waiting for iOS 4.2 to be released first before complaining that it hasn't been Jailbroken?! 4.2 has only just been released in Beta to developers. It's due for release to the public in November. There should be nothing to stop it being Jailbroken pretty quickly thereafter. I'm hoping so, because I want 4.2 primarily for AirPlay to stream from iPhone and iPad to my Apple TV without losing a few features I need the Jailbreak for.

Went last year. The Square is absolutely mental. There are a few bars and alcohol shops, but it's a Muslim country so good luck with your clubbing. Me, JB, Turkish and Turkish's missus are going there for a week earlier in November. A day of Tagine cookery lessons, off-road buggying in the desert, a Spa & Massage day and a trip out to Essaouira are all worth doing. Also, just wander around the Medina, the parks and through the souks at night. It's worth finding a decent local taxi driver to explore outside of the Medina. And NEVER believe any of the locals who tell you the way you're going is closed so they'll show you the way to the square etc. Annoying and NONE of them are genuine - they all just want money for helping you.

I am at a loss to understand why so many of you think homosexuals are 'normal'. Nobody really answered my question as to whether you think gays are a result of nature or nurture. I believe that proper gays are born like it. Mr X has said he didn't choose to be 'this way', which suggests that he thinks he was indeed born with the affliction. Others have touched on it being a genetic defect / brain chemical imbalance that causes it. I'm not going to go in depth into the similarities of the non-standard sexual urges and preferences between gays, pedophiles and those that practice bestiality; But they all clearly share similar genetical / mental defects. My point about one day finding the root cause and being able to diagnose it during pregnancy and (in the unlikely event of our liberal society allowing it) having the option to terminate the birth is a serious one. The same goes for those with a propensity for mental illness, sense defects, mental cases, gender benders and a whole host of other disabilities. This country alone, spends £billions every year on treatment, care, housing, transport, benefits etc on disabled people. Be honest with yourselves: nobody wants to have a Downs Syndrome kid, one with disabilities, a retarded one or a gay one. Why should we waste that much money if an option becomes available (like with Downers) to terminate and try again for a healthy one who will benefit society and not be a drain on it. Granted, Mr X and other gays wouldn't be here today if this option was available; But neither would all of the disabled people, pedophiles and other suchlike. I'm talking here about those BORN gay through defective genes. The ones who 'turn' gay are as a result of an overly tolerant society who, if anything, confuse the confused into thinking it's normal and acceptable to dabble in homosexuality as a life choice. Take away those that are born like it by accepting that it's a defect and dealing with it, stop encouraging gay couple to adopt and confuse normal kids, stop everyone saying 'each to their own' and you start to deal with the problem and stop normal kids from 'turning' by nurture.
-
There's no need for personal abuse. So, what do you people think: are queers born that way or do they become that way? Is it in your genes and you can't help it? Or is it a decision you've made based on the relaxing of attitudes and the general brainwashing that being a gay is perfectly 'normal' that made you try it out? Nature or nurture?
