What has Perry done wrong? he's looked very good in the games i've seen this season.

Quite a few fans were disapointed when Sturrock was sacked after 2 games of a season when he had been in place the end of previous season and all summer and bought players to the club. Sturrock actually had a fairly good record as Saints manager. Maybe you missed away wins at Man Citeeh and wolves and home win versus liverpool. Some very good football was played in that period. Most people with half a brain cell knew Wigley would fail and was the cheap option like Stuart gray but Woopert did not learn from his preious mistake. The 14 game Wigley period proved costly. Redknapp had enough time to save us even though he constantly repeated to the media that he didn't stand a chance. Redknapp's strength as a manager is wheeling and dealing in the transfer market which he was not allowed to do with Saints apart from Quashie and had to get in loans. Saints finished bottom of the league btw in the relegation season. Think you need to change your user name.

Only time i ever want Manure to win. Unfortunatley they usually lose against Portsmuff :-(

Totally agree mate. Was not previously convinced about Gillett but yesterday he was everywhere and him and Scneiderlin ran the midfield. Great day out with pre and post match decent ales in the Brunswick.

Le Tiss used to get a bit of stick as opposition fans knew he was a class player and was likely to score. You don't see many rubbish players getting abuse apart from maybe John permed haired scouser Bailey for Everton in the 80's. Kevin Phillips is still a class player in this league and likely to score whether fans give him abuse or not. Personally i don't think he said too much wrong, just admitted the move didn't work out and he didn't do too bad for Saints in his time here. Happy memories of away wins at Wolves and Man City etc as well as his debut goal at Leicester.

Pea fritter's are very rare up north :-( -
Like i said on the captain thread. These tossers are so over rated by the media etc and can't actually string a few passes together it's embarrasssing. Lampard is on 150k a week and has been ****e for England for ages now. Beckham would struggle to get in a championship side with the standard of football he is playing in the states. Most european sides are able to take the **** out of England these days.

Some fullbacks would be nice. -
He used to always do a christmas tour years ago.

They lost 2-1 to Brum saturday.

England players are all over paid over rated and under performing ****s as far as i'm concerned. They should watch some of the olympic competitors to see some determination, dedication, hard work and pride in representing their country. I used to follow England in word cups and euro's years ago but can't think of many England players i don't really dislike these days. Might as well make Cashley Cole captain :-(

Derby not won a league game for ages.......... solution? play Saints the bad run busters. Derby 4 Saints 3. Late winner conceded by inexperienced poor positioning by Saints midfielder playing fullback. Looking forward to a good day out though.
-
Some strikers on the bench. Two fullbacks not midfielders at right and left back. A holding midfielder. Two wide players capable of beating fullbacks and crossing the ball.

Well said. There is enough ignorance regarding bi polar already without these posts.

Is sexism allowed on this forum then? Think we need all the fans we can get right now. -
I think it would be a good idea to play some fullbacks in the fullback positions for a change but we hav'nt got any and can't apparently get some in on loans. It was pretty obvious on saturday that we are weak in those areas and it will prove costly this season.

Positives from saturday. great passing display in first half. Impressed with Schneiderlin. Great to see Killer back. Was able to get a beer at half time due to poor attendance. Negatives. Saints lack the height, physical strength and fitness to survive 90 minutes in this league. Desperate need for full backs and defensive midfielder. Gillet seems to have plenty of fans on here but i was not impressed. No threat or anyone to hold ball up once John was subbed. No forwards on bench???????????? and no plan B. No atmosphere in the Kingsland. Won't be going there again.

Just ignore the loon. Don't know why he is allowed to post so much rubbish on this forum.

KP was voted the best player in this league last season. They have him plus Jerome, McFadden, Bent and O'connor, hardly OAP'S???? Personally i'm more worried about their midfield of Carsley, Nafti, Larrson and McShefferey who i think will be a bit strong for our midfield who struggled to dominate Exteter in this area in midweek.

17000 is sadly a realistic figure for "affordable football"

Rasiak is a better finisher IMO.

I'd love another Guthrie to join Saints.
-
Do you know him then? another poster making assumptions about a players desire to play for Saints or leave? he might love it at Saints and want to stay or might have been frozen out to balance the books and cut the wage bill. If he does go i'd say good luck to him. I will never forget his late goal at Derby in the play off semi. Saints probably don't have another player on their books who could have scored that goal on the night.

Saints 4 Brum 4 I'd be very happy with a point from this game after looking at the players Brum have in their squad. I don't think Saints the height or strength to defend against them so might as well go all attack and hope we get lucky.

James and Surman have played most of their footballing careers as midfielders right? Hatch and mills i have never seen play so can't comment if they are capable of stepping up to championship football. One thing i know though is that this league is quite physical and alot of teams score plenty of goals from set plays. Hopefully we won't be moaning about lots goals conceded by inexperienced defenders out of position caught out by experienced championship players/teams.
