Clearly has talent and you can't ignore the number of assists he's provided in his time here but his lack of killer instinct just leaves you thinking he could and should be doing so much more. Despite being an eternal pessimist I still think we may claw our way out of this. It quite often happens that a team who look totally ****ed at this stage claw their way out of it. Poopeylol did it, Fulham did it, Oldham had a nine point deficit with 3 games to go and still feckin stayed up on goal difference. We have to beat Leicester and if we don't it is over. If we can play as we have for most of the last 2 games against weaker opposition we should pick up points. 7 may just be enough. I do admit that like a scarecrow attempting to have a **** I am clutching at straws here.

We were excellent to the extent I foolishly thought we'd win when we went 2 0. Then we just crumbled, disintegrated in fact as soon as Giroud came on. Last time we got relegated from the Prem it was the 2-3 against Villa after being 2 0 up that felt like it was definitely a relegation season, this feels the same.

Yes. He did it alright under Koeman. I'd be more confident in a back 5 the same as today but with Bertrand moved inside as part of a 3 and Mcqueen in at LB and no Stephens at all.

It's not a case of scapegoating. It is just obvious that he isn't a competent centre back at this level. I still think he could make it as a midfielder. (Also I'm not sure that we have any competent centre backs at this level).
