We signed Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida and Forren. We have promoted a future England player at left back to the first team. With everyone fit, it is likely that we'll have players of the quality of Ramirez, Puncheon, Fonte/Yoshida, Davis S on the bench. Doesn't look too shabby to me.

Puncheon really frustrated me yesterday. When he played on the left, he always chose to come inside with the ball, instead of attacking behind the full-back in the space outside and behind. I was glad to see him switched to the left, but couldn't believe my eyes when I saw him cutting inside on that side as well. Ramirez didn't have his best game yesterday, but he is a player who finds space for himself, and always looks to slip balls behind defenders into space. To do this he needs players around him to be on his wavelength, giving him the ball and making clever runs. Lallana is great at this, and I reckon Gaston will play better with Lallana in the side. But, as I've said before, Davis deserves a start next week for his excellent performances in the last 2 games. Lallana will almost certainly start next game as well, so on current form it will have to be Puncheon and Ramirez to give way.

When they're all match fit who do you reckon our first choice CB pairing should be. Jos has been better recently, I think Yoshida has tailed off. He was badly at fault for their first yesterday, but he has done well this season. Fonte was playing well before he was injured, after taking a bit of time to get used to the league. Forren is a ball playing centre back who is obviously highly rated. All things considered I'll go for Forren and Fonte.

Again, we played our best stuff when Davis and Lallana were on the pitch. Davis is very underrated. Got a bit of pace, good passer, and very good at winning the second ball. They should both start next week. Jay was excellent today.

He didn't have a great game today. The form of Davis and Lallana at the moment should get them starts next week. Unfortunately, Gaston will have to make way. But don't write him off, he is too good a player. He will come good.
