Are you sure this isn't just blind faith in Adkins. If prozone stats are that important, then Matty would have been luck to have played 50 games for us! When we have the ball in their box, there is no better player in our side than Ricky. Why don't you think we don't struggle up front when he doesn't play? Have we scored that many without him?
-
'Be true to yourself, I'm happy'. Perhaps this comment of his puts to rest the ludicrous idea that he doesn't pick the side or choose tactics.
-
I agree about Jay, I think he's going to be a decent player. But Lambert should start every game that he is fit for.
-
Colin, are you suggesting we drop our best players if the opposition are tactically aware of him? Not sure I agree with that one.
-
I respect the right for you to have an opinion, but this is garbage, absolute garbage. He's the most dangerous forward we have by a mile, and his work rate is beyond question. He is everywhere to help the team.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks

Your opinion, fair enough. My opinion is that he did a fantastic job at Spurs. -
Fans relationship, are the club missing a trick.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. His words on here would only get twisted anyway. -

I don't mind a chairman who keeps his mouth shut. Never did the likes of Woodford much harm. Contrast that with rent-a-gobs like Dave Whelan. The Daily Echo are their own worst enemy. Really dumbed down now, can't remember the last time I bought it. I hardly even go on their website. -

He took a failing squad and turned them around. He shipped players out for decent money and bought players in that were good enough to finish 4th in the league on more than one occasion. I wouldn't mind a few players of that 'quality' if it had a similar effect on us. Face facts, he did an excellent job at Spurs. -

It has everything to do with it! He got £20m for Keane for a start, Crouch didn't go for exactly f*ck all either. Personally, I don't want Redknapp here, but objectivity is going out of the window with this thread. -

Not saying I want Redknapp here, but the point you're trying to make here is a load of crap. A lot of the cost was offset by player sales which you fail to mention. Redknapp was working under a chairman every bit as ruthless and savvy as Cortese in Daniel Levy. The fact is, Redknapp took a failing team, who were in a poor position at the time and going nowhere, and turned them around. -
It looks like Adkins only sees Lambert as a squad player now, so why not? Does look like bullsh*t though.
-
His job isn't untenable. All this stuff about influences from Reed and Cortese about who he picks and how he plays, is, in my opinion a load of rubbish. I do think another manager could get more from our squad. I can't see where our next win is coming from. But I would be delighted to be proved wrong. If he loses the dressing room though, then his job becomes impossible, not untenable. Think of AVB last season.

The away dressing room at the Dell wouldn't have looked out of place at the Veracity ground.

Harry Redknapp to be named manager within 3 weeks
Wade Garrett replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The original quote from the journo, saying 3 weeks, looks very suspect to me. If NC wants him back, why would he wait? I reckon it's rubbish. -
I can assure you my source wasn't some bird in a pub.
-
I heard that Ricky and the manager had a big fall-out after the Fulham game. Now you've got a journo saying this on 5live. I am sure there is substance in what he's saying. For what it's worth, I pretty much agree with what this journo is saying. Sad, but in my opinion true.
-
Re your last sentence, if they go to games and support the team, why shouldn't we call ourselves fans. I want Adkins gone, but I wouldn't do anything but support at games.
-
Despite my doubts about Adkins, I will continue to give the team my full support. My opinions on here do not change that unwaivering fact.
-
If this were true (which I'm really not sure about), then I would actually have less respect for Adkins. He should stand up for himself, and play how the side how he wants to. Or, he should walk. If it's true and he's happy with it, then he's a fool. A lot of ifs there. Personally, If he is being played he should stand up to his bosses, or walk and get his contract paid up (constructive dismissal-not being able to do his job properly). He doesn't strike me as spineless, he proved that when he refused to resign as S****horpe manager when we wanted him. If he walked, he would easily find decent work elsewhere. If he doesn't, is he just here for the money?
-
Drop Lambert, because if he gets injured we will need to be able to cope without him. Genius. Saints fans might not have been unhappy at half-time, but who cares. The Hammers were certainly happy at full-time. We seem to do ok in the first half of games, but a couple of changes in tactics by the opposition in the second half and we are done for.
-
The point was, should we be able to question the manager or bow to his better judgement. I'm not sure it is a ludicrous comparison though.
-
If southampton football club was a person, who would it be?
Wade Garrett replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Clever. Told you so. -
Just someone with an opinion. Still thanks for taking the time to post.

The argument that Adkins knows best and shouldn't be questioned is a load of cock and bull. Why can't his decisions be questioned. Were we wrong to question Branfoot when Matty was dropped? Or should we just have accepted it because he saw more of the players on the training pitch? Maybe for the sake of stability, we should have stuck with Branfoot, Jones or Gray 'for the sake of stability', even though we probably would have got relegated in every case.
