No confidence in Jan, no confidence in the board. Jan is being set up by Lowe as the fall guy here. If Jan is sacked then once again Lowe's judgement, quite rightly, will be called into question. If one goes, they should both go.

If you actually read all of it you would have known. Very sorry if my posts don't sit too well with you. To be honest I stopped getting in a 'tizz' about Saints some time ago. Too many people on this messageboard seem to be doing PR for Rupert. Can't really be bothered with it all anymore. Bye.

I know. Someone posted that he thought JP would leave after the Burnely game. Mine was just a reply to a hypothetical scenario. If he appointed Wotte then that would be is 3rd coach after JP and Pearson. Do keep up.
-
I'm sorry, but Rupert doesn't get away with it that easily. Getting through to his 3rd coach since returning shows a lack of judgement. He should do the decent thing and leave. Woggy could run the club better than him.

It's not self motivation its a lack of self discipline.

I agree. All this 'good football' is a bit Emperor's new clothes to me. I was seething last night. Especially with Rupert on the pitch with JP and the new coach before the game. He just winds me up. Why didn't he just keep Pearson. -
If the rabid anti-union Thatcher hadn't been such a spiteful cow, the coal mines would have helped us through the energy crisis, and made a bundle of cash in the last 15 years. Mind you, if the gas and electric hadn't been privatised the taxpayer would either be pocketing the profits now, or being charged a fairer rate. Well done, Tory ***ts.
-
The point of it all though Frank, is that Lowe is going back on things he said to JP. How can there be respect if this is so? Your last paragraph is a bit daft.
-
Don't hold your breath for any boardroom changes. Good post though.
-
It cost him £2000000 to get our attendances down to 15k.

RF Webb?
-
Why would it fend off interest in Lallana and Surman? Lowe has already said they could go if they want to.

over engineering the buildup, scared or clueless?

It's easy to defend a cross when it comes from deep. It is much harder to defend if it comes in from the bye-line. This is a problem we have, beating the man down the line and getting decent balls into the box. -
Setting your body, being on the balls of your feet, and making yourself big are all things that are coached to keepers. Schmeichel's starfish technique was something he learnt playing volleyball by the way (just thought you might be interested). When a centre-forward volleys one in from 30 yards it is instinctive, but it is something he practices for hours and hours and hours on the training pitch.
-
I don't agree. 1 on 1's can be coached. Also if a keeper is committed the last thing he should do is retreat.
-
Shilton was the best keeper of his generation, and he trained as hard as anyone and never stopped learning. Decent coaching and training makes a real difference to a keeper. The best are the best because they work hard at their game. As the late great Roy Castle said 'Dedication's what you need'.
-
You justify and defend Lowe's existence at every opportunity. It's as if you have something going on with him.
-
Surprise. nickh pops up with indecent haste to defend his pal again.
-
You f*ckwit. I already said the boycotters can't call themselves fans, although it doesn't mean they don't care about the club. Dickhead.
-
This 'who are the fans' argument is getting a bit boring. Put simply, I would have to say that anyone who is boycotting the club at the moment (me included, although Crouch has made me think again), can't really call themselves fans. However, I would say that the boycotters care about the club as much as anyone, and are staying away for what they think are decent reasons. I wouldn't knock anyone who goes to games, I wouldn't knock anyone who is boycotting. Each to their own. But these futile arguments are getting a bit much now.
-
I don't think Crouch would have said anything if Lowe and Wilde hadn't tried to 'scapegoat' him in the local press recently. I agreed with a lot of what he said. I think if he and Pearson stayed we would be 20k plus for home attendances. Just my opinion mind you, not a fact. His appeal for boycotting fans to return struck a chord with me. Maybe it's time I went back.
-
If Crouch was still in charge, and Pearson still manager, I don't believe that crowds would have dipped below 20,000. Cuts would still have had to be made, but with more matchday revenue perhaps not so savage. And if an unknown manager is a contributory factor for our poor attendances then who do you blame for that?
-
Knocking 5000 off the home gate and making our side less competitive by getting rid of decent players is a surefire way of avoiding administration! Rupert, you are a genius.
