I think the point Souness was making was more about Kompany not adapting Burnley’s tactics for his own selfish reasons rather than be pragmatic for the good of the football club.

Dyche’s tactics are based on getting the most from his players. Kompany’s are about his next job. There is a difference. Souness was spot on.

I have been consistent this season in my criticism of Martin. However, I liked the change of shape against Leeds and the tactics against West Brom. Keep up the good work, one more game!

That’s a great point. If you get caught trying to con the ref it should be a red card. The ref’s job would be so much easier if players weren’t such cheats. Offsides should be quicker with VAR next season.
