  1. There were a few like that around me, although saying that they seemed to see the worst in everything tonight - some people just moan. Moments of skill and a fair bit of rubbish, he certainly needs to get more consistent if he wants to getthe crowd of his back.
  2. Please Please Please let this happen
  3. Have you tried get a company to spend out on corporate sponsorship at the moment. Most FD's have the purse well and truely shut. Also it is not a particularly good thing to offer clients - "Hey do you want to see dagenham and Redbridge at SMS or would you prefer a round of golf at Wentworth"
  4. Worryingly this feels very plausible
  5. Well perhaps as a paying customer, if you don't like the service, do what others would do and find an alternative. Or give up your time and become a mod yourself and that way you can influence what happens on here. Just my opinion. Also whilst saints web is incorporated as a for profit organisation, I would be surprised if it makes any money especially if you take the time required to run this site into account.
  6. He came in late from the pub = he'd been drinking = his testimony is unreliable
  7. Find the siren, open the box and take out the battery
  8. To be honest they have ahad an easy ride withe the labour party consumed in their leadership battle and the summer recess. Ask this question in October - the unpopular stuff will be announced then and Labour should have a leader. Life will certainly get more bumpy. I think cameron has done just alright bar a few minor diplomatic slip ups. Osbourne has been better than I expected (tbf I didn't expect much) and for Clegg, well he has a bit of a nothing job publicly, however he has to get the Lib MPs to toe the coalition line, so on that basis he is doing alright as well

    Anelka

Anelka has just been banned from the next eighteen internationals by the French FA - that is a real don't mess with us stance. Evra got a 5 match ban and Ribery (assuming he doesn't get banged up in the meantime) 3.
  10. You would like to think that he was old enough and, with a good size business, responsible enough to know better. -In his case it wasn't just the fence shaking, it was the intent to have a good "toe to toe" fight. There are evidently issues with sentancing but everyone knows the score, if it's football related the penalties are magnified - so don't do it.
  11. Dune if you pass on the dumplings you deserve to be shot No dumplings = stew crime
  12. Don't forget the dumplings
  13. My folks scraped every penny they had to send me to KES. Not for any social climbing reason, but because in their opinion the local comp just wasn't up to scratch. My wife did go to the same comp and has been very successful both academically and profesionally. Thinking about it there is one difference I can see. At KES all pupils were pushed to learn and as a result I would say most pupils were able to reach their potential. It the comp, based upon my wife's experience, there was a sink or swim culture - pupils who wanted to learn, did; pupils who couldn't be bothered, didn't. The other reason why I was sent there was at the time teachers were striking on a regular basis and my parents didn't want my education to be disrupted. I have to say at the time I was gutted that my state school mates were getting extra time off whilst I still had to go to school
  14. Unsurprisingly I disagree. Firstly you cannot compare China to the Uk, there are entirely different (I am totally against the working conditions in china which seem to be no better the a 19th century workhouse). Most employers I know try their best often with limited resources (especially in today's economic climate). I can only comment from an SME perspective, but unless you respect, reward and develop your staff then your business will never reach it's potential. Also if you do not treat your staff fairly, invariably they leave or worse still become negative influences within the organisation. The impact to a business of these things happening can be massive in a small business. So by treating your employees well you get a motivated loyal workforce that will improve shareholder value. That all sounds a bit like it came out of a textbook but my experience it's true. That is why I disagree with the premise that all employers are out to get the employee.
  15. What a load of guff. My business is nothing without the people, I know that and that is why I treat them fairly. Any manager / owner smart enough will also know that.

  17. I wonder how many people on here, at the daily mail etc would do the same if they were in his position. If your accountant says to you if you pay your wife this money, you can legally avoid paying £300m in tax - I suspect most people would take the advice.
  18. What are you talking about. The coaltion ministers have taken a 5%pay cut and a pay freeze for the length of this parliament.
  19. I'll bite. I don't think it is about length of association but the impact that person has. Ted had a long and distinguished association with the Saints and is rightfully accorded our respect. Markus was associated with the the Saints for a very short period, however the impact that he had will leave a legacy for years to come. Both men have contributed hugely in their different ways and accordingly people want to recoginse MLs input in a more permanent way. There has been some highly emotional reactions but then people are affected differently, some fans will undoubtedly find your view a little cold and heartless. Me, well I sit in the middle somewhere. Saddened? - Yes; Grieving? - No; Grateful? - Eternally
  20. Capello is right, he's too old, maybe not now but the new campaign is about the 2012 European Cup. He is 37 in 2012. How many 37 year old midfielders can keep up with the tempo of modern day international football?

  22. I think you are confusing grief with gratitude. I am massively grateful for what Markus did - for that I will never forget. The renaming of the stadium etc is being mooted as recognition of that debt of gratitude that every Saints fan has to Markus. I know he was only involved in SFC for a short time, but I am struggling to think of many people, player or otherwise, who made such a difference to the Saints. So in my book he deserves everything accorded to his memory. WIFM
  23. I think Unite have a real problem. They are a very widespread Union - the result of the merger of many smaller unions. Therefore there is a good chance that when a strike action called Unite is involved. The more Unite is involved with strike action the more the public perception will be that the Union is militant. Now each individual action may or may not have merit, however there will come a time where a group of workers are genuinely hard done by and are not taken seriously because of their association with Unite. Unite should think long and hard about their long term strategy before they end up hurting the very people they are supposed to represent
  24. DO you throw up regularly then?
  25. Stand or stadium - both equally fitting
