  1. Apart from the money spent non Ings and his three (or four ?)year that was a wise investment of course.
  2. Don’t know the number, but none as sweet as when Hoddle got the push. Think it was after we beat spurs at WHL but even if it wasn’t we took some satisfaction in our part in it.
  3. What would Eddie wear ? Is this the new selection criterion ?
  4. Wasn't suggesting it was, but given that we play Norwich next both teams dropping points and Norwich not getting a confidence boosting win seems the best option at the moment. Over the course of a season inclined to agree with you.
  5. Norwich now obliging 0-1. Wouldn't a draw be better for us ?
  6. Either that or he only watched our second half performance and holds onto that as a glimmer of hope for his dream job a bus ride from home.
  7. Was he glaring at a team mate and blaming him ?
  8. Or just to keep them there. I suspect his remit is to keep them up, and then Newcastle will look to bring in the big name at the end of the season.
  9. Kevin Keegan must be due an emotional return there again soon
  10. Yes, think he ran half the length of the field to join a scrap in the penalty area.
  11. If Newcastle go for EH I suspect he’ll be charged with keeping them up and they’ll part with him at the end of the season to bring in a ‘name’ . Agree Farke and Smith are the ones on thin ice at the moment
  12. As well as going for managers with Chelsea connections, Spurs have also put aside any local pride and recruited managers with Arsenal connections in the past. In the 70’s there were a few raised eyebrows when they went for Terry Neill (former Arsenal captain who was then managing Hull). Highly amusing when he left after a year or so to go to manage Arsenal. More recently George Graham. Helps confirm Spurs position as fairly well down the evolutionary chain in London football, regularly taking cast-offs from their rivals.
  13. And Steve Mills
  14. Pre dates the 1980's. Think back to the 1960's, Davies, Paine and Sydenham, although I think Paine and Sydenham's success was as much about skill and guile rather than just pace. And they could cross a ball, rather than most modern "wingers"/widemen whose idea of a cross is get to the byline by their pace and then thunder the ball into the box in hope.
  15. Plus : Baker (Steve) and Baker (Graham).
  16. Davis (K), Davis (S) as you’ve already got, plus for a bit of variation: Davies (R).
  17. Think a few crossed wires here. Seen kerb crawling near Clifton Suspension Bridge. Apparently. Good source: taxi driver from Temple Meads Station in Bristol today.
  18. for other reasons, Manny Andruszweski and Forbes Phillipson-Masters are probably good squad players to have on the bench.
  19. FFS - what a waste of everybody's time, especially the rozzers.
  20. Nuno for Villa or Newcastle perhaps ?
  21. Think Bruce managed Villa previously.
  22. Except other's are now saying he isn't. Hopefully that isn't a game changer.
  23. Way of finding some extra £ I suppose
  24. Where is that reported ?
