  1. Just seen that Richard Dryden has been sacked as assistant coach at Forest Green along with their manager today. Not sure of the connection but the article says their U18's manager Jimmy Ball has taken over. Wasn't Alan Ball's son, Jimmy ? Wonder if this is his son, seem to remember he a junior player some years (25-30) ago
  2. Has he directly suffered any 'abuse' from fans or has it just been on message boards ?
  3. Elyounousis has scored twice for Celtic today. Hopefully convinces them they want him permanently at the twice the price.
  4. Rico Henry (Brentford) linked: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/brentford-fc-rico-henry-premier-league-southampton-b928044.html

No idea, quite rightly this is discussed within the confines of the club and not plastered over the media. I'd be surprised if he didn't have some preferences and candidates he's seen in Germany and the Austrian leagues. (Like to think they're above the Danso standard though). Plucking a name of the air, I'd not be surprised if Lookman was considered at some point.
  6. Should have a 'Melvyn Bragg bought me a pint' commemorative t-shirt made.
  7. I suspect Salisu is now the third choice CB (unless Ralph wants to protect him, and go for Stephen's greater experience).

Agree it was Koeman's influence and presence that brought Pelle, and probably Tadic, in rather than the fabled black box and Les. Shame we haven't had the finances for Ralph to bring his 'shopping list' to fruition really.
  9. Surprised as many as 59% think we're well run.
  10. Thought he could have turned that into a 'studs up' two footed challenge if he'd applied himself a bit better. Clearly has a lot to learn. No wonder Ralph doesn't seem to trust him.
  11. Spot the difference !

I read he received the planning on his house but subsequently announced he was going to live in Monaco. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/feb/23/neighbours-angry-as-selfish-jim-ratcliffe-leaves-new-forest-home Perhaps we're his 'retirement project'.

Whenever I've read anything about him it states he's a longstanding Man Utd supporter although had a ST at Stamford Bridge as he was living in London. I think the name has been regularly touted on here, but can't help thinking if he was interested he'd have made a move by now, what has changed ? Can't see it happening unfortunately.
  14. What's his track record with us ?
  15. Think you're being a bit kind with that description.
  16. Would prefer him to return to us in a reasonably fresh condition, and not injured or knackered.
  17. League Cup finalists have always had a greater % of tickets than FA Cup.
  18. Clubs certainly get a bigger allocation for SF but that may be due to the fact that the FA don't distribute as many tickets , if at all, to all other clubs. I think many of the corporate seats are available for all showpiece games (so not JPT etc, but internationals, FA & League Cup).
  19. Not disputing what you say, but is that what the FA Cup (SF) has become ? It may be a good time for the arm chair viewer but doesn't feel right for the football fan/purist. Suppose it would have been a more conventional time if fans were attending so hopefully it doesn't become a precedent. Still, good to know we can compete with all time classics like The Onedin Line, Poldark, and All Creatures Great & Small for prime time Sunday evening tv. Wonder what the BBC or the producers net spend was.
  20. Yesterday's news: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/james-rodriguez-returns-everton-training-20257656 Doesn't say returned to training wearing high heels or anything like that.
  21. In an interview once Lawrie said he considered signing Frank earlier, after we were promoted in 1978, and then again when Keegan was with us. Now that would have some team, Ball, KK, Channon and Worthington. Shame that come about. It was strange how his form picked up as we went on our cup run in 1984. He'd been pretty average, if not poor, before Christmas but was outstanding after. His goal against Coventry in the 8-2 received the greatest response from the fans that day, moreso than Moran or Danny Wallace's hat trick goal.I think that was his last game for us. Certainly a great entertainer.
  22. God I remember that place was when sold musical instruments (early 70's) before it became a toy shop Saw him in there once, seemed a decent bloke. Surprisingly no Air Hostess on his arm. Not living up to the standards set by Osgood.
  23. Think I'd go for that at the moment.
  24. Unless it's a Rank Xerox replica, in which case it'll be fine.
