Really ? One scuffed goal against Huddersfield doesn't mask the easier chances he's missed. I accept he's young and allowing for the rush of blood to the head when these chances come his way we have to bear with him and hope he comes good in front of goal but from his limited starts he hasn't looked an out and out goalscorer.

The legacy of Les and his followers spreads beyond our shores.

Wasn't Hurlock the one responsible for bashing David Speedie with the ashtray during an Ian Branfoot team 'bonding' session in Guernsey? If so, he wasn't all bad. The only other Hurlock story I recall from his time with us, was that he and Groves were occasionally seen being helped into a taxi at closing time around Bedford Place.

A pretty poor response from Cardiff, especially when they've been the subject of much public sympathy over the whole episode. I can't see any grounds for them withholding the transfer fee. The article I read said that the player's international clearance had been granted and therefore he was registered as a CCFC player. That should be the end of the matter. Any arguments regarding the involvement of agents trying to ramp up interest are irrelevant, surely just a commercial marketing ploy from the agents that Cardiff should be wise to. Depending on the terms of the deal of course, perhaps the conjecture should be IF Cardiff had insisted on installments after 20 matches, or a set number of goals. I'm only aware of one previous court case over a transfer and non payment, that was Ted MacDougall after he joined Man Utd from Bournemouth in the early 1970's and was sold before having the opportunity to score the prescribed number of goals. Bournemouth won their case. Circumstances here are entirely different. Anyway, I want Cardiff to create and refuse to pay. A 10 point deduction by May should do it.

On the other hand though the Liebherrs rescued us from oblivion; Rupert helped take us there. For that reason I can't compare the contribution of the Liebherrs with Lowe. Gao on the other hand...

And some suggest Boufal would thrive under Hasenhuttl's management. I can't see Ralph putting up with this somehow.

Got the impression Watson was a Reed appointment, and protected by him thereafter. Still as Les has gone perhaps the greater clear out will happen.
-
Ian Branfoot at his best.

Or how she feels meeting with him is beneficial, other than safeguarding the mental health of some of her constituents who are worried sh!tless over Gao's plans and handling of the club. Still she probably finds it a welcome change from the Brexit debate.

Peter Crouch is on a circular merry-go-round of his own , vilified, reluctant acceptance, cult status (for a few months), indifference (whilst at Liverpool), full vilification again (with the Skates), indifference...

Agree with you except for going for the win, I don't recall us upping our game after we scored, quite the opposite, seemed to me it was a mindset of relief we clawed it back, game over. Except of course it wasn't.

Parking for the football and parking charge notices
Badger replied to saintmatt's topic in The Saints
Did anyone on here park on the trading estate yesterday and able to update on it ? -
Talk to who, and about what ? Talk to supporters about the club's position and prospects under her father's ownership, or to prospective buyers ?

Thought we dealt with this v Palace. Similarly, Cardiff will have shown their respects at Arsenal, and last week at home to Bournemouth.
-
Intelligent, yes, judging from his off field investments, but I didn't see too much leadership whilst he was captaining the side. Thought he was too reserved in that role.

Full debut in the 2003 Cup Final as I remember.
-
if due to RH not wanting him then I expect he'd have been packed off in January.

Worrying fixture as Cardiff have shown plenty of fight. I was hoping for the Ralph style high intensity v Palace the other night but none of that was on display, just much of the same nervous, gutless stuff of the last two years even if we are a lot better organised. Really need Hojberg, and hopefully Bertrand available. A fit and focused Lemina would be good, but you seldom see both of these features in his game at the same time. Up front, god knows... the perpetually carrying an injury Ings, the carthorse Austin... or Shame Long. Gallagher should be on the bench at least as he gives an option the others don't.

Seem to recall there were rumours at the time that Tadic would have been off had Koeman stayed. Tadic did at times sound a that he was prone to throwing his toys out of the pram if not selected, allowed to play the role he wanted to. At around the same time he had a massive fall out with the national team manager. But credit where is was due Tadic did step up and was important in keeping us up last season.

As most teams are able to. We -and I believe Fulham - are the exceptions. In fact we have excelled at this for a few seasons now.
-
It won't matter who we have on the radar if we're unable to act swiftly as, like Mepham, they'll end up elsewhere.
-
We can't just abandon him, effectively tearing up his contract. We'd have to pay it off, unless FF agreed otherwise. Thanks again Les.

I've read this from a couple of people, and in theory - assuming we stay up - it's fine. However it does tend to also assume these players we want rid of are moved June/July in time for us to bring players in. Knowing how our board operate though the likelihood is we won't shift them until the end of the summer window, possibly with some on loan again. If we need to clear players out to be active in the summer market chances are we'll see more Reed style dithering. First appointment should be a CEO/Head of Recruitment/DoF, give it whatever title you want, for someone , or combination of those roles who can negotiate deal;s to bring players in.
