Can also be the other way round, in that the new head, whether it's Chairman or DOF, wants to change direction and bring his own people in. Lowe , Pearson and Poortvliet spring to mind. Given our recent history and is it any wonder supporters see making things difficult for ourselves as 'theSouthamptonway'# ?

I go along with your view of Krueger. I think we have lost sight of his initial impact arriving in the wake of the Cortese fall out, and Poch going,to help steady things. Overall I think he has been good for Saints, although the blemish on his record is allowing Reed too much room and time. Like every departure we see, the loss is only as bad as the replacement, and it does show how KL's influence is waning. We've seen nothing of note from Gao to inspire confidence, that remains my biggest concern along with whether this effects RH's enthusiasm to stay at the club.
-
Hasn't he previously been labelled a voice piece for the club in getting out 'our' side of the news ?
-
Also hope AFCB beat Brighton to keep them in the mix a bit longer.
-
Swansea supporting colleague was also telling me about their CB Joe Rodon, 6'4" with a bit of flair on the ground rather than just a lump.

Duplicate post.

That was one of the worst Saints shirts ever, on a par with the two Cortese abominations when we arrived in the PL. Of all the retro kits to select from that really is bottom of the pile. Would prefer the 'candy stripes' from 1976- 80 than that, or even a reworking of the Denmark shirt (as hideous as it was at the time).

What's our record with these two involved ?
-
I saw a pre-season friendly between Saints v Japan at The Dell in the early 1970's. Think Saints won 6-2. Their national side has improved immensely since then.
-
That shirt looks fine, but if we're staying with stripes then it should be full stripes without the plain back. Can't imagine the change in shorts to navy happening although it wouldn't worry me if we did. Preference would be retain the 'Keegan' style in some shape or form, but it won't happen so soon after last season. Finally whatever the kit don't f^ck it up with a dreadful sponsors logo (or anything written in Chinese).

They really are a self-indulgent bunch of c^nts.
-
They seemed to manage it quite well at Molineux earlier in the season when they put Traore on to beat us for pace. I agree that they can blow hot and cold (some excellent performances, but losing at Huddersfield and Burnley) but think they've got a few options open to them from the bench to change things. Hopefully they'll still be in shock after today.

Unfortunately I fear City will be the ones to slip with the exhausting schedule ahead. Don't they play Spurs three times in four matches, and Utd away being the other one ?
-
Couldn't go last night so only just saw the highlights on MOTD. Disappointed but not surprised by the result but having watched tonight it was a typical Long in front of goal moment at 1-0 that proved critical. Thought Gunn looked weak for their first goal. Another embarrasing w^nkfest by the pundits.

This should be a standard policy to trace the source of the tickets. That includes players who pass tickets to opposition supporters who can't keep a lid on it amongst home fans.

Thanks for sharing your memories of Kirby and that era. Please post more often and share the recollections. You entered 'Sainthood' a few years before me as my earliest team was the Alehouse although I have heard tales of Kirby, Derek O'Brien etc from older relatives. Always interesting to read of days gone by.

Impressive stats at first sight.
-
Cardiff's next two games away to Burnley and Brighton are pretty critical as even if they win they might drag the other two further into it. A few points in our next two home games could see us in a healthy position.

(aboot this) hoose .. or house if you prefer

Redmond also has two relegations on his CV although seems to have got over it this season. Chambers on the other hand probably falls into the trap of having left too soon without developing his game at Saints. Either that or we were fortunate to take the money when it was on offer.
-
May also be dependent on new sponsors and logo etc. Expect some unreadable symbols advertising a Chinese pay per view porn site or similar.
-
Bowen certainly looks a good prospect and from what I've seen of him a player that might thrive under Ralph. I'd be surprised if Augustin happens given that Leizig were rumoured to looking for £35m, plus the fact if as expected they sell Werner they are unlikely to offload another striker.
-
Forster I'd agree on, it must be difficult to get that spring and lift to collect the ball when it appears you're playing in wellies most of the time. Bit unfair on McCarthy who once he came into the team last season showed a willingness to come for crosses. Perhaps Watson has coached that out of him since then though.
-
We certainly missed out on him when he left Hoffenheim. Les at his best.

... EVEN BETTER NOW ...
