Do you feel confident that Reed & Wilson will make a better selection? Fourth time lucky!

These are the three unwise monkeys who are the key problem. Krueger can bumble on for all I care, providing there is something positive to "bumble" about, direction from above and performance from below.

Not a particular fan of Hughes from his time prior to us but I don't hold him responsible for the current shambles. His track record doesn't suggest he has shown much to "turn things round", although to his credit since his arrival he managed to motivate the likes of Tadic over a short period. At Stoke he inherited a decent defensive unit put together by Pulis, so again no great record of a well drilled defence. Doubt a change of manager is the answer on its own though.

Think it was the year before, Koeman leaving and all that followed.

Has his own bunch of melts to deal with..

Was Forster back in goal ?
-
2015 - The Toby fiasco - even if you accept we were powerless to prevent him going to spurs it doesn't excuse the media shambles that Reed conducted. I wonder ifv this was the catalyst in the souring of the Reed-Koeman relationship.

Hope so. If it wasn't for VD , I'd probably be a bit more open to them winning something, even allowing for Nivea and Lovren, but his conduct to get his move tips it off the scale for me.

Wasn't he reported to have been at the Wolves match ? Just to add, it seems ridiculous if people are looking to critiscise him for attending matches, it would be a greater concern if he didn't show up at all*. Just hope he sees enough to realise things aren't working as well as they should. *Although Man City don't seem to have done too badly with an owner who has attended twice in ten years according to reports earlier in the season.Just goes to show what can happen if you put the right people in place to run things (not to mention bung a few hundred million in to the coffers).

My recollection was a 0-3 home defeat by Villa over the Easter period at a time we were in contention for the title. Pretty woeful performance all round not just KK. Not sure if KK was returning from an injury, or carrying an injury, but he didn't recover his form from earlier in the season. Rumour at the time is that LM's accusation was that KK was saving himself for the World Cup. In the event KK was injured for most of the World Cup that summer and only played 20 minutes as a sub.

For all Reed & Wilson's failings I'd be more concerned if two of the characters sat with Gao in the photograph are the new Director of Football, and Head of Recruitment. I'm hoping it's a Financial Adviser who is looking to outspend Fosun's investment and has the back up to do it.

Await The True Geordie's take on it.

Pretty dramatic today scoring a hat trick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsPjoVNCcIw I remember someone suggest we go for the current Dortmund manager (Favre) after Koeman left, saying he improved every team he's been at. But Les brought us Puel, Pellegrino, and Carrillo instead.

Sickening to have to want Utd, Spurs, and sometimes even VD et al, to win, but we need others to continue to drop points.
-
We no longer sell our players though nowadays, just loan them out whilst massively subsidising their wages. Such is the success of our transfer policy and recruitment. Nice one Les.

Except that Adkins was still the manager when Gazzaniga arrived. Think you may wish to revise that theory.

On the Yacht Watch thread SaintIQ wrote: Made me think that it's a shame we couldn't find a Chinese investor (or indeed any other) who wanted to go toe-to-toe with Fosun.

Don't forget the obligatory flyby protest. Perhaps it's time for the 'Open Letters to..' to begin as well
-
All of whom would still be an automatic first choice, when fit, for us though.
-
Trust in Les. And Ross. They've never let us down before. Well not since the last transfer window closed they haven't.

Yes, all going well at Stoke... http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/282821/rowett-out I never saw the merit there other than Reed had met him on a training course, and he was young and English, plus had a neatly trimmed beard to go with the image...
-
Don't disagree, but who is that man, would he want to come to Saints as we are ? Above all, do you have confidence in Reed identifying the right candidate, and going for him ?

Nothing newsworthy about Redmond throwing his toys out at one of his team mates, but the tunnel incident is more interesting if true. What I can't understand though is why "board members" would be near or in the tunnel.

Didn't think clubs were permitted to play on CL nights.

Was sacked there though. Interesting article about up and coming managers in Europe : https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45525005 Trouble is of course there is a gamble in whether they adapt to EPL, and coming in under the current circumstances doesn't allow any bedding in period. At the start of the season, Schalke's manager Tedesco appeared an up and coming coach, but lost the first five there this season. Anyway, isn't trying to secure the 'up and coming' continental coach one of the reasons we are in the current mess ? Above all, not sure that Reed & Wilson can be entrusted with the selection.
