BBC panel seem to have forgotten how dire England were for 44 minutes of the second half.

Disappointing outcome, but not entirely unexpected. This is the easy and more palatable explanation though isn't it? It may be exclusively down to location, but I wonder if that would have been the deciding factor or consideration if we'd had someone such as Koeman, or Pochetino during his time with us as we were seen then, in charge. For a number of reasons we are not a particularly attractive proposition. Leicester with Puel are a better proposition than us. Depressing isn't it? You'll probably get slated for that by some, who'll point out Maddison's decision isn't the club's fault etc, but it isn't just this potential deal is it ? Every transfer window since 2015 has seen a Les balls up of one description or another, either players or management.
-
Pretty poor indictment of him if he can't motivate himself against Brazil. I thought his attitude when playing against us was poor, always looking to blame a team mate etc. Think we've got a few of those already.
-
... or is the source Les ?
-
Wasn't "behind closed doors" one of Adkin's phrases ?
-
I thought he scored the last goal at The Dell v Brighton. A tenuous link to 'justify' his inclusion.
-
.. funny how it seems...

Gibson might be an upgrade on our current options but is he the "brute" we need at CB ?
-
I expect us to be gazumped on this now its out in the open. So prepare for disappointment: If he goes to Leicester, we will be told that as a midlands lad originally he wanted to return there, if it's West Ham then it'll be "we weren't prepared to match obscene wages, but that we didn't really want him anyway, he's not that good and our approach was only Les asking hypothetically, if we did make a bid would he be available..". Les will then tell us he's relaxed, we have 41 scouts scouring Europe.... all of whom are currently in Russia along with Les drawing up a shortlist of players we can't realistically afford, or who would not dream of joining us.

As you say, this will flush out other clubs interest.

The fact Reed and Wilson have survived last season unscathed is a sad indictment really. It indicates that the club is overcome with complacency, and as for any activity, forget it. Smugness abounds again on Planet Les. Agree that Gao isn't sufficiently aware of the game, and still uses Reed as an adviser.

Possibly last on MOTD though..

Or Mayuka ? But .. more successes than flops whilst Mitchell was here.
-
Although Mitchell gets the credit, having a manager of Koeman's status helped immensely in bringing players in, and before that we were seen as an ambitious club with a young team who was on the up. Compare that with the lure of Puel, Pellegrino, and to a similar extent Mark Hughes. Not looking to detract from Mitchell's contribution though, and I'd gladly have him back at St Mary's ahead of the current set up which doesn't appear to be in the same league for either identifying players, or 'getting deals done'.

Who has repalced our Head Scout, Bill Green, who passed away? Perhaps this is another role Les Reed has absorbed into his portfolio of duties.
-
Probably not bone idle, and I expect they believe they are keeping busy working hard. But - without any inside knowledge and judging by their achiecements over the last two years - I get the impression they are busy doing nothing (as the song goes). You can imagine them shuffling papers and compiling endless 'things to do', 'players to sign/scout' lists. Trouble is too much overthinking and planning, not enough achievement. All true enough, but only after Les has the custard creams sorted.
-
Trouble is, what we see as a disastrous season, and being a **** hair's width from being relegated, Reed probably sees as an expertly judged and handled situation dealt with by bringing Hughes in at the right time. Relax. No panic. It was under control all along.

Many a true word said in jest.

It also seems to dispel the myth about all shirts having to have a solid colour on the back as well.

Huddersfield have revealed theirs, conventional blue and white stripes, front and back. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/18/19-Kits/huddersfield-town-2018-2019-umbro-home-kit.html

When his name was first linked with us he seemed highly rated, and certainly appeared to have a decent shot on him from distance. Strange how his stock has fallen. Pity Rogic signed a new deal there, although in all likelihood our "interest" was merely a leak by his agent as a negotiating tactic coming up to the new deal.

candlelit vigil called for..
-
I thought we were heavily linked with him before he left Hoffenheim after Fonte's departure from Saints. Story at the time that Hoffenheim jacked the price to £10m and Les refused to pay it. End of the season he went to Spain for about £4m.He seemed quite a prospect a few years ago but his career doesn't seem to have fulfilled the promise he showed at Basel.

You missed a few out:. 4)Les is relaxed about the situation. 5) Les and Ross still to be complete their review of last season 6)Before they start 5) they have to agree on Rich Tea or Custard Creams.

yellow shirt,(royal) blue shorts .. has been done to death by us, and most other clubs as well since the 1970's. Far prefer the navy/yellow combination of L1 season. If we have to have yellow and blue then some variation would be better , possibly in the format of last season's home kit.
