Was hoping we might avoid any further South American signings to be honest. Track record of "settling" is far from impressive.

.. and possibly a back up GK if Boluc throws his toys out the pram as suggested on the other thread and demands a move.
-
Where has he said that ? I only recall "1 or possibly 2" and reference to wing or wide player (can't recall which phrase he used) but nothing specific about CB. As you say this is a mistake, as we I feel we need another better option at CB, injury or suspension will see us exposed in this area.
-
Simple answer, no. Or at least he hasn't shown it over a prolonged period. He is a 'mistake a game' player. which has even been highlighted playing for Japan.
-
Too much time (and money) without any thinking might be more accurate.
-
Goes against the grain wanting a team of Fat Reptile Sam's to win, but beating spurs is for the greater good so will be looking to West Ham to do it today.

I'm willing to think of Morgan's contribution over the last few years rather than one tweet made in anger. He's not the first and won't be the last player to want to leave to further his career (even Mick Channon went on a sabbatical to Man City), and I'd suggest his public outcry was no mre than Steve Williams many years ago who is also still highly regarded amongst fans from his era. Lovren & Lala on the other hand... Possibly just wishful thinking on your part.

Phil Neville predicts Saints in Bottom 3 at end of season
Badger replied to CalneSaint's topic in The Saints
Would have thought BBC would have learnt their lesson from the World Cup, Phil Neville is a boring wooden f^cker devoid of any personality and best forgotten about. Why they wheel out these tw^ts to provide an 'expert' opinion is staggering. Oh, forgot he played for Man U, so the public crave to hear him. -
Or the German CB, Wollscheid perhaps.
-
..especially if Pelle or Long 'wind him up' a bit.

Sky Sports - Musicians predictions for the season ahead.
Badger replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Lounge
Nor me. I couldn't give a sh!t about their 'music' , so care even less for their opinions about football. The next time any of them come to my attention is likely to be when they are found after taking an overdose, or hanging themselves in their garage. -
or we might see more W's if Wollscheid joins to go with Wanyama. W could be the new L.
-
Any suggestion or song that Long has knobbed Posh Spice yet ?
-
Depends if we see Stephens or whoever making a step up on occasion. I suspect though the Wollscheid rumours may be recycled from last week before we bought Gardos (who is also a 6'4" CB), so our interest may have cooled. VVD, who I understand is more of a cultured ball playing CB may however still be an option as he perhaps offers something different or extra to what we already have.
-
I think this is probably just a rehash of a story late last week.
-
have we finished yet? or is there more to look forward to?
Badger replied to cobbysouth's topic in The Saints
I think we still need another CB (Van Dyke would have been my preference but the trail has gone cold it seems). Ideally, I'd also like to see another RB (Byram if possible), and if we're going for a winger etc then the Brighton lad March appears a good prospect and option. We may also need another GK if Boluc wants to leave. -
Don't worry Hypo, the Global Scouting Network continue to scrutinise the 'soccers-sphere' to bring in top quality replacements, (from as far afield as Humberside).
-
I think he played alongside VW for a number of games last season, as well as in place of him. From our angle, do you think VW will want to stay another season, or do you think he'll be pleading the 'project has changed' next May and looking to move? We should be doing everthing possible to retain an important and versatile, not to mention reliable member of the squad.
-
Ridiculous if true. Cork is one of the stable players who provides something extra in the squad, team spirit. Plan ahead, give JC a new 3 year contract and he'll stilll be an important part NEXT season and possibly the season after. No matter how good he is its doubtful Taider will be here next season, and Schneiderlin may not be here next month. I always feared we'd be a team of dago mercenaries under Poch when he came in, it didn't happen, but ' itshappeningnow#' alright.
-
yeh, maybe Sam Baldock is worth a punt as well...
-
I too have some doubts about this proposed signing at £12m but of the players you mention the only one I'd want ahead of Long is Ings.
-
Hardly a prolific goalscorer then. Can only hope other areas of his game, ans 'assists' make up for this. I've not seen enough of him to judge, but from the limited amount seen and read he does seem a bit in the Ormerod (for effort)/Speedie or Dickov (for niggling and aggression) mould. At £6/7m that would be fine perhaps, but £12m ?
-
Were either Hooiveld or Yoshida involved that day ?
-
Good job Les has a Global Scouting Network then.
