Players Saints have been notoriously unable to cope with over the years...

as proven again yesterday... -
Its not really an issue to argue over as its appalling no matter who the offenders were, but you have to wonder though don't you ?

Appalling and disgraceful act that is beyond the limits of football rivalry, an act of a complete moron.

Going back a few years, but Frank Worthington always managed to score against us. -
I thinkwe're all happy with KD as backup, providing we don't need to call upon himto play. You've probably answered your own question there.
-
bet the c^nt spent last season dreaming of being booked for Liverpool
-
Excellent result - league table looks good (just being above Poch and the yids makes it good reading in itself).
-
Pity we didn't find a "better one" then, rather than Long as the "instead of" option.

Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official

Agree, whereas F^ckitupatino managed to attract Pablo Dani Osvaldo.. -
Good, hope he lives up to the high expectations.

That and the square heads with boxes will remain in our memories for a long time.

Jos was an integral part of our promotion, and still contributed to the squad afterwards, perhaps moreso in the dressing room camp than on the pitch, which can't be underestimated. Good luck to him, seems a good bloke who has ended up at a decent club, wish him and Norwich well.
-
He's probably waiting for one to emerge from our Academy.
-
Agree, I really hope we add to the CB options - despite what RK has said, or reported to have said, VVD or Alderweirald would be outstanding signings.
-
Perhaps Alpine will enlighten us. Obvious question though re a Senegal international, by how much is he an upgrade on Papa Waigo, and does he have a stupid dance to celebrate ? I'd expect something special for that sort of money. Or is he the Austrian Leagues version of Mayuka ?
-
It will be no surprise if Boruc leaves, and if he's not making himself available for the bench, or head isn't screwed on to be reliable then he might as well go. Just hope we can find a suitable deputy for FF.
-
At the moment, I'll be thankful for Leicester, QPR,Palace and Burnley for scraping it out at the bottom.
-
Probably what is needed (assuming the players are of the right calibre) but we'll probably end up with one player, most likely a winger/wide man (Redmond).
-
Agree with most of this, the three names in bold would have been good signings to improve our squad and options. Long is as you say overpriced, and we can only hopr Gardos cuts it, either way he seems a gamble, and unless the CB options are added to in the next three days we are reliant on Jos and Yoshida as back up (at least). I hope to be impressed by incomings in the next few days, but don't expect it to happen, perhaps just the erratic Redmond to look forward to.

I don't think many will be too bothered about this player going, but annoyed that our transfer policy re incoming players has been a bit shambolic so far. But of course we will reserve judgement until the 1st Sept when the window closes.
-
I think Serie A must now rate alongside South Americans as a transfer market to steer well clear of.
-
I was hoping this might have been 'in addition' to our interest in Ings. If this is instead of, then its even worse.

A shared position with Jim Steele for a while with me, but no doubting Mick was one of our greatest ever, not just as a player but as a personality also. Having spent much of my early life in the west country it was good to hear his accent in those days as well.
-
Line Acre was one of the classics (for those of us old enough to remember it). That was the WC of 1986 where he insisted that England's attacking options should be "Percy Vere with Pter Beardsley.." or so it sounded in his inimatable accent. Whenever Mick was on the panel you could guarentee an honest and forthright opinion and answer , unlike the feeble "he'll be disappointed with that.." from the wooden Townsend etc now.

Trouble is that we don't seem to learn from this strategy and see a similar thing happening each window.
