  1. Read this on Kluitenburg : Poor translation from :http://www.rijnmond.nl/sport/07-05-2014/feyenoord-niet-verder-met-jan-kluitenberg
  2. Reported in the BBC gossip column, along with Chelsea looking at a left back from CSKA. When fees of c£12m in mentioned for Blind, and less for CSKA's lb you can see why they might baulk at pursuing Shaw. A year under Koeman, and Shaw will probably be on Barcelona's radar.
  3. or just double dutch...
  4. Perhaps we should sign the Swiss left back as well if Shaw leaves. That'll confuse them.
  5. Ditto. Would be hard to deny him a move to Barcelona to be honest, especially if they make a "sensible" or attractive offer.
  6. At the time, and seeing it again, I feel Platt could have stayed on his feet. That said, if a free kick was to be given then it should have been a red card. Pretty sure I've read an interview with Koeman since in which he expressed his surprise it was only a yellow.
  7. What's the liklihood of Koeman bringing a couple of the youngsters from Feyenoord with him, one of the CB's in particular ?
  8. Is KBilly a known 'ITK' ? Pleased if true.
  9. True, but same can be said of Koeman. Either would be fine as far as I'm concerned though. But not particularly tested. In truth Tuchel's achievements look better, but he is not a name, to appease the squad, attract players perhaps.
  10. Serious question : What is the great attraction of FDB ?* Won everything at Ajax but.... not the strongest league in europe. Does he have a better record of bringing youngsters through/style of play than Koeman ? *apart from the prospect of ****ing spurs fans off perhaps.
  11. We were linked with him c 2001/2 or before we signed Niemi. We opted for Niemi, and got it right.
  12. Anyone else concerned that he might not have the experience or track record to command authority with the squad ? One area that Koeman has a distinct advantage in my view.
  13. According to The Guardian article he is leaving because Galatasary's ambitions do not match his own it would appear. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jun/11/roberto-mancini-galatasaray-parted-company This is after they qualified for the CL. So, he seems unrealistic for us.
  14. He certainly appears to meet the criteria, and I've not read anything detrimental about him. My concern here is how he would impose himself in the dressing room, a fairly young manager with very little playing history to give him the 'authority' needed ? MP was a less experienced manager when he arrived than TT is, but he did have the background of his playing career to bolster his reputation. Why do you think they'd be around for longer than Koeman ? FDB ? Can't see that personally as I expect he'd be looking for something bigger. Out of interest, what is the attraction of FDB, managed Ajax etc, but does he have a better record of introducing the academy etc than Koeman ?
  15. There were quite a few links on the previous thread if you can be bothered going through it.
  16. left at end of the season.
  17. As I asked on the other thread: What does Yakin give us over Koeman ? In terms of record and achievement Koeman seems ahead by some distance. Right or wrong for us is perhaps another matter. Koeman would comand attention/respect from the squad, ahead of less experienced names, and that is important now to help stem an exodus. But as others have said the LR interview gives impression of seeking a MP mkII. Of all the articles read about the names listed Tuchel would seem to meet some of the criterea.
  18. Impression from that video is that the new manager is likely to be from a similar 'photo-fit' to MP, which indicates perhaps a younger tracksuit manager/coach. Does Koeman match that profile for LR ?
  19. What does Yakin give us over Koeman ? In terms of record and achievement Koeman seems ahead by some distance. Right or wrong for us is perhaps another matter.
  20. We could easily do a lot worse, and with the exception of a couple of names touted we may very well do.
  21. How are Koeman or de Boer viewed in Holland as coaches, revered or with indifference ?
  22. I recall Koeman's agent similarly touting him for the Swansea job. It probably is as Saint Charlie says the draw of the PL. But given the way we are losing or likely to lose our outstanding players, it throws up a bit of a paradox and brings to mind a Groucho Marx quote, to be reworked as 'would we really want to employ someone who is desperate enough to really want to come here' ?
  23. good summary.
  24. Have you not heard him speak ? In all likelihood he probably thought such a move was beyond him. My gripes about this are the timing, and the fee.
  25. nor do I.
