  1. Still locked in private talks with Dalian Wanda (personally of course) to agree the funds to buy the club from KL.
  2. Prefer the 'Rank Xerox'. Apart from that, yes, like it, especially after the last two years. This is a proper Saints kit. I'm informed by my sons that I will be buying it ! Quite like the suggestion of a few people for navy blue shorts for a future change though.
  3. Their local paper now suggesting he'll be sold if anyone offers £3m. (Be good to buy Shaw's replacement for 10% of the fee received). http://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/sport/dundee-united/dundee-united-s-andrew-robertson-will-cost-3m-1.455526
  4. Why didn't West Ham keep him ?
  5. Pablo Armero was on loan at West Ham towards the end of last season and failed to impress. As said below: I'd also be sceptical of South American signings given our previous experiences. Unless we're bringing inthe real top dollar signings which we won't be, we're likely to end up with a heap of trouble.
  6. Is this because its an over ambitous target ?
  7. We could do, and have done a lot worse... Nice shoes btw !
  8. It appears the hold up is on the valuation of the player with Feyenoord rather than the player and his ego.
  9. SSHHH ! Don't mention that.
  10. Are these bids, in addition to the known bids for Pelle and Tadic ?
  11. The 'Keegan era' would have been my preference , but am happy to see a Saints looking shirt again after the last two seasons, and am pleased with this after some of the abortions mooted on here. Yes, the red sleeves are reminiscent of 2003-5.
  12. It's disappointing that we seem incapable of maintaining a "not for sale.. " stance from the outset and adhering to it. Despite whatever good Les Reed is doing elsewhere, he and 'the board' are proving to be feeble when it comes to negotiations of players leaving. Hope they prove their worth on incoming players but I'm not holding my breath. KL was ill advised in not bringing in a CEO with more football experience in my view.
  13. Who is his agent out of interest ?
  14. A dangerous gamble in my view.
  15. Absolute abortion.
  16. Thats a bloody good idea, loan him to Southend till he comes to his senses.
  17. Nice are perhaps aware of our continued interest, and windfall from the recent sales.
  18. Probably part of the Ben Davies negotiation.
  19. Badger

    Captaincy

Morgan if he stays. Davis is potentially a good option but wonder if he'll be a regular starter ( depending on whose left of course).
  20. Does Lovren share the same agents as Lala ?
  21. Were we ever in for him ? Don't remember Colin Bell links (although do recall Colin Todd coming close to signing, are you confusing the two ?)
  22. Agree with the above, if the story is true. Should try selling him abroad, certainly not consider selling to Liverpool or MP.
  23. Perhaps some will remember this but at the end of 2000/01 season - prior to the move to St Mary's - the club ran a vote for the new home strip. Amonst the options were various stripe designs, a red and white quatered kit, and a Monaco red/white diagonal halves. The 'Monaco' design was proposed as a bit of an outside option, suggesting it as a 'nod' to Hoddles time at that club (he was the manger when the poll first started although had pised off shortly after it was launched). Voting was by post, and internet. THe internet voting was pretty primitive, without the need for customer numbers etc. Skates tried to rig the poll and if my memory is correct it was the Monaco strip they tried to lumber us with. I think there was a surge of voting on it, but the club discounted some of the late votes on it. The winner was a conventional r/w striped kit.
  24. As said on a previous thread re JWP ,a key factor for his development this season , (as for our season ahead generally) will be the squad available at the start of the season. I can't see JWP being a first choice CM ahead of MS or Cork , with VW playing a more defensive role. This assumes Koeman does not bring in any other Dutch midfielders. Perhaps the question for the club is if they are prepared to take a chance to release Cork to enable JWP to progress further. Personally I'd not take the risk at this stage. ( Not belittling JWP , but Cork is an important part of our MF in my view).
  25. So, about £6.7m , that looks pretty good to me. Think we should try doing a bit more business with those nice people at Feyenoord.
