Peru 2014:

I don't think he was in the Hesketh photo either though was he ? So not sure anything can be read into this. Perhaps Mrs Poch is dragging him round looking at furnishings/curtains/whole new wardrobes to be acquired from the increased ££££ * *though we don't know if we or spurs are funding the new lifestyle
-
Trouble is that until officially announced all stories are prone to being leaks, or counter leaks ... ie is MP's agent leaking to force Levy's hand ?
-
Southampton's translator is the real manager !!
Badger replied to scotsaintsfan's topic in The Saints
Fancy dress for next seasons last away game sorted.* *assuming Poch is still here. -
I hope that is all wide of the mark. Garcia - achieved less than Adkins in gaining a promotion Petrescu - oh, yes the bloke who once preferred joining Bradford City ahead of Saints. FFS - but no thanks. Roberto Di Masturbateo - thought his supporter at St Mary's fled in January.

Only if he is answerable to others (KL), it is foolhardy to allow one person/ego to have absolute control without some accountability. Spend, spend in pursuit of personal glory is reminiscent of Leeds and another club a bit closer to home.

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints
Badger replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
It is a shame that NC could not remain. But for a bit of humility on his part I imagine he might still be at the helm. But his desire to spend was a worrying trait as it looked very Ridsdalesque in its approach. -
Did the club miss a trick by not appointing Williams or Purslow?
Badger replied to once_bitterne's topic in The Saints
One need not have excluded the other as I see it. Chairman - RK CEO - JW. We needed a Finance Director so that was Gareth Rogers, but they rolled him into a CEO as well. I'm still not clear what Hans Hofsetters role is on the board, and what his particular specialism is. Either way, I think Williams had the experience here, trying to ignore the 'local bloke' influence on it, but he'd shade it over Purslow in my book who has a bit of 'baggage' from his Liverpool days. -
The Clump does have a place in Saints history. No reports of plate throwing incidents tonight ?

Cortese speaking to BBC for first time since leaving Saints

Suspect it will be more 'timely' sh!t-stirring from NC. No doubt acting like the child who has had his action man or subuteo set taken away from him. (failing to realise perhaps that it was not his but only on loan in the first place). -
Who is talking to him then ? THFC or us ?
-
..or that the current board would consider him in view of this ?
-
Hoddle and Moyes as possible manager for Saints at St Mary's. Is this still 2001 ?
-
Glad to see someone shares my recollection of events. Not going senile just yet.
-
What's he been born again as, or been spouting this time ?
-
Has left Basel apparently.
-
He left after twelve years in charge, hardly at the drop of a hat. And this was also after he had rejected possible moves to Leeds (1979 from memory) and Manchester Utd (c1980/81 before they appointed Atkinson). All in all, he gave pretty good service. The 'meltdown' on somewhere like this had it existed in the summer of 1979 would have been in overdrive facility.
-
Sherwood's reputation from THFC will be enhanced. He's already linked with Norwich, WBA, Brighton.

Someone suggested to me years ago (possibly during the Branfoot era) that the problem for Saints is that we either have a good manager and will struggle to keep them, or we have a manager no one else wants. Not far from the truth really.
-
Mickey Hazard retired years ago. Although as spurs shamelessly passed off Forecast as a goalkeeper I would not put it past them to try and use him as a makeweight in negotiations to buy out Poch etc or any of our players.
-
No doubt KL will consult Allen & Overy on any such action, depending on his contract. Now A&O (global law firm) v Jonathan Barrett , pretty clear who will have the 'heavyweights' on their side if needed.
-
The sound of £££ and his agent - whose commission might be dependent on it - might be telling him different. Not sure he, the players or we know where the SFC road is leading, therein lies part of the problem.
-
Probably something on the agenda if KL is arranging a "crisis" meeting as suggested. Obviously depends on his contract and how flexible it is. It may be that his "buy out" of £2m gives him the option of moving on. It's a shame more clubs don't adopt this stance. (Mainz have done this with Tuchel who is mentioned on another thread as a potential replacement).

Do you really think he is remotely aware of what their fans may want, or what they are writing on their mongboards ? I doubt he was too concerned about supporter reaction on agreeing to the Saints job knowing (or perhaps he didn't) how popular Adkins was. I don't disagree with you about it being a daft career move for him, but there's always the £££, which will cushion any minor set back.
