Brentford - don't recall that one, unless you're thinking of Mark Paul. If so, I think he was a bit older when he joined us from non league. Matthew Patterson v Man Utd.

Is this an actual link, or just your own recommendation ?

To be fair though, many people on here thought Coppell would have been something of a coup had we appointed him at the time Pardew came in. That of course though was what four years ago ? Since when Coppell has done bugger all of note, although behind the scenes - if allowed to - he could be a useful DoF for them.

Just read this vote of no confidence on one of their sites : from: http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=527289 (went on there to read about tonight's 7-0 and found that).

The blokes on the extreme left and Catlin look like they could pass as a pair of undertakers, probably have more fun at an undertakers convention. Looks like an aging Terry Venables. Every bit as trustworthy I'm sure.

How far is Ryan Seagar from the step up ?
-
Ah, yes but a couple of thousand will come up on the night , some getting off at St Denys to beat the Old Bill's blanket security. And then there are bound to be a few Millwall who just come here knowing there will be a 'ruck' ... or is it just Pompey who come to town - in vast numbers - when we play Millwall. All on Planetskate of course.

Presumably Xavi is deferred until the summer. But I'm not sure if he'd get a game at the moment. Plus.did we ever resolve the question as to whether is better than Hammond ?
-
As demonstrated at The Emirates ? Perhaps this was the point at which The Don passed Reid a note to find me a keeper...
-
Oh yes, of course he'd give that up. Although the World Cup preparation though is a valid point, but still can't see it.
-
Probably complete b0llocks. Why would he leave Madrid ? Never mind come to us.
-
Very impressed with him today, first time I have seen him as an attacking threat rather than a solid RB. Looks an excellent prospect. Only 'downside' if there is one is that Clyne though does offer a bit more in terms of pace.

The comparison for me is not so much MLT , but Frank Worthington in his prime, a tall skilful CF with great skill, but only 'play's when fully focused and motivated. And the hairstyle !

Sublime finish for that goal, after he jinxed around three or was it four City defenders ? Le Tiss, would have been proud of that, but Osvaldo probably has more body strength to make it happen. Goal of the season so far for me. Today v Man City, or AL v a defence of taylor's dummies, puts it in perspective. He's a player who needs to be "wanted", and feel part of it. If MP can manage his (Osvaldo's) head the we have a hell of a player at our disposal.

Posting pictures on Twitter ? This is for wimps. John McGrath would accept such thing as part and parcel of the game, and be in the pub tonight for 15 pints, no complaints or pictures. (City forward perhaps in hospital or looking on the pitch at The Dell for his teeth still). Tell that to kids today.... Apart from that, Lovren, top man, best defender since Michael Svennson without a doubt.

That though might not be until after Christmas though.

Dreadful decision to make that change in my view. Very monotone, although overtaken by Mick McCarthy as one of the worst voices in football management. Jones was an average manager at his prime, with one good season with us as his pinnacle really. Although everyone felt sorry for him with the accusations made, I always felt that background kept him in a job at Saints longer than he should have been, based on results and performances that season. Wish him well at whatever club he manages, but doubt we'll see him in the Premiership again.

Southampton in talks with German international midfielder Aaron Hunt
Badger replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The article talks of pre-contract agreement in January to sign in the summer for next season. Interesting link - from the Youtube clip he looks a definite upgrade on say, Steven Davis, and has played in a better league. Perhaps an improvement on the squad for our European push (and can take a penalty - useful for the knock out stages !). Couple of random thoughts though, coming from Werder Bremen will he expect us to do that 'wavy hand' thing whenever we get a corner ? Plenty of time to get a song ready for him though, what rhymes with Hunt ? -
Hope Powell , new skate manager ?
-
loud and clear !

Southend 1-0 down, and reduced to 10 men with about half hour to play. That is some defeat even by skate standards( reaching a whole new level of sh1t).
