  1. Good to see there is a high standard of literacy maintained n the skatesmouth island: May come as no surprise that this particular illiterate skate uses the pseudonym of "PORTSMOUTH SAVED 20 4 13 PUP".

    Jose Fonte

    Final big payday though ?
  3. Think you're being very kind in that analysis (even if clutching at straws).
  4. Is he wearing Wellbeck's clown shoes ?
  5. Rooney, Sturridge, Townsend and Walker seem to excel at running themselves into a blind alley in pursuit of personal glory. Walker also looks a liability in defence.
  6. Yes, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, or I imagined it, but no it was really was that sh!t. Is Lars Bender the other one ?
  7. Not according to the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24907635 As we all know, if L/pool or Mancs are fit - and are willing to make themselves available for selection - then they'll play.
  8. A new revelation re Lowe, care to expand on it ? Personally,at the time, I thought Lowe was correct to reign HR in and not allow him to spend, spend, spend. Agree, in truth Redcrapp's appointment should never have been necessary.
  9. Probably better at being a berk, than being a footballer.
  10. I wonder what Mr C and the club will think of the FA using JWP in this way ? Remarkable though that the FA have not wheeled out a more senior player for this duty and type of promotional.
  11. I did wonder the same thing tbh, Begovic is ambitious and in truth he is unlikely to get the chance at one of the established big 4/5 clubs, so what he needs is a club 'breaking in' to that group, or at least one with those ambitions. From our angle he is established and proven at the right age with years ahead of him. Given their respective ages, I suspect the club would see more mileage in Begovic tbh , and if we have learnt one thing over the last three years, it is that your last performance - or previous season - might not be enough to save you.
  12. Not a bad shout, and if we want a predictable big bloke:little bloke combination Sam Baldock would be the ideal foil for Parkin's knock downs. F'kin Brazillians, krauts, and all the dago's won't know whats hit them. Manager - Fat Sam no contest (unless 'arry's up for it).
  13. JWP had a decent effort at Stoke so it looks to me that he is already on the duty rota.
  14. RIP. I don't know if this is accurate, but I semi recognise the name. If its the chap I'm thinking of, met him in the late 70's at an away game or so, lived in or near Winchester, would be late 40's. Is this him?
  15. Perhaps you're losing sight of the fact he's only 18, and very much of the internet-twitter generation. Perhaps he should be better advised, but its difficult without a blanket ban on the use of such media.
  16. Yes, Saints obviously missed out here. Or, perhaps he's found a level he's suited to.
  17. I see One Direction are involved in some fund raising event for the Phillipines : What an attention seeking bunch of bastards this lot are. They should be "outed" for what they really are.
  18. If your looking for a 'box to box' midfielder who scores a few goals, then Chris Lines* could force his way into contention. *Bristol Rovers midfielder we were frequently linked to in L1.
  19. Seeing some of the proposed squads on here, and a player many omit is Lampard. Whatever your criticisms of him, I cannot see Woy not naming him. Of the other senior guard, I suspect Ashley Cole might be vulnerable, depending of course whether England go for experience or building for the future.
  20. Sad to say, but are our players intelligent enough to play a fluid system ? And when have we had a manager intelligent enough to implement such a system or explain it to the players and motivate them ?
  21. I think it has come too soon for JR to be honest.
  22. In some ways I'm glad he had this reaction whilst playing for Italy, had it been whilst playing for us some would have suspected he faked it or it was self induced.
  23. I thought I read sometime after MP arrived, that his name was first brought to NC's attention by an agent whilst talking on player transfers (possibly the Ramirez deal). I was never quite convinced by the "recommended by Jose" line . It seemed a bit too convenient, and borrowed from the "recommended by Sir Alex/ Don Revie * ..." line. *which Lawrie was apparently.
  24. Could earn us a few penalties if that is anything to go by. The first one has shades of Chelsea's yesterday about it.
  25. ..just kept Hammond.
