Sad to say it, but their selections have been such a clusterfuck that you couldn’t entirely rule it out. Would be worse than the proposed return of Hoddle in 2004
-
What the fuck are they waiting for ? Perhaps they’re waiting on Nivea to give them the nod that he’s had his beard trimmed for photos on the training ground tomorrow.
-
For the second year running. The big opportunity to sell the idea of a ‘reset’ was in the summer. But we bollocksed it up with Still. It’s no longer appointing for a ‘reset’ , and difficult to ‘sell’ the strategy for rebuilding, it’s now bordering on desperation. The fans see it, as will anyone we’re talking to (and their agents).

Someone tell Spors, in case he needs telling, that you can sack a manager on a Sunday
-
some good points; Jones - agree to a point, but wrong man at the wrong time. Had we brought him in after relegation I suspect he’d have been better received and done a decent job. Still - out of his depth (being kind). Mowbray - I like him but he was poor at WBA, has had health issues, and would us sacking his brother endear us to him? Like the idea of an experienced head for now, even if it changes in the summer when better longer term options may be available. Next appointment - I expect Nivea as a short term option.
-
That’s fair comment, as it’s difficult to detect from the outside where specific responsibilities - and with it the blame- begins and ends. This would influence many things at the club perhaps up to recruitment stage. Beyond that, team selection, motivation, and of course game management (including subs) rests with the manager (although it might also raise questions over the daft bastard who appointed him).

“Vagina”, good idea. Follow Saints Womens team instead.
-
Worryingly, Spors and co I suspect.
-
So in summary, Rasmus ‘doing okay’, Spors ‘ok’ , in which case have to wonder what or where the problem is? Agree about Downs and Stephens. Each to their own view, but I’d disagree that Still ever looked anything other than another unmitigated gamble let alone a good appointment at the time.
-
Fuck off to that. I’d prefer Fat Sam - and I detest him - or Pulis ahead of Lego.
-
Rasmus has previously been closely involved on the football side of things, but what do you regard as Parsons failings on that front ? You may be right but I thought Parsons focussed on the commercial side of things, leaving the football to the “experts”.
-
You’re probably right, but what is wrong with the people running the club ? He isn’t up to it, should have gone last international break, yesterday or today. We can’t afford to let winnable games drain away. What a clueless bunch of dribbling retards we must have at the helm of the club.
-
Over Farm Market ? Been out collecting your pumpkin have you ?
-
I posted on the Spors thread earlier today, that Patrick Vierra has been sacked at Genoa. He’s been a bit of a failure around the place, but possibly a Spors appointment (mmm, wonder is that connected ???) at Genoa. Another one you hope doesn’t rock up with us,
-
Isn’t he a ‘Fake Sheikh’ who has already bollocksed up a club in Spain? Think it’s one to steer clear of.
-
Is he the ‘German Will Still’ , young, inexperienced but good with a laptop? If so, good call.

We don’t make quick and kneejerk decisions. Those making the decisions go home, twiddle their thumbs, bit of naval gazing, and possibly have a wank in the bath. They’ll then sleep on it so as not to make any rash decisions. Tomorrow they’ll find some other distractions. Eventually they’ll decide to give him the next transfer window and park any decision.
-
I also wanted Rohl and thought that the obvious route we’d go. Perhaps it was just too obvious, and others (Spors?) just wanted to put his own mark on it, or perhaps it was too difficult to get him out of Sheff Weds. Leaving aside the decision in the summer, it is even more galling that Rohl was unattached a few weeks ago (last international break) yet we leave Still in place, throwing away some winnable games in the process.
-
As did some of our Nods who saw him talking to Carragher. Have a look at the next manager thread which was closed when he was appointed.
-
Remember the Branfoot days, and it wasn’t just the younger fans protesting in the car park. The Port Vale game sticks in my mind. Is it an age and generation thing ? We’re now older, and for the younger group they probably do their ‘protest’ by social media. Did anything come of the suggested pre-match meet up and protest ?
-
Yes, the art of dither is alive and well at SFC.
-
Bollocks to having a Sporting Director. Just appoint a White Witch.
-
Trouble is Saints don’t make the decisions soon enough. Lego was here a couple of months longer than he should have been. This season, Rangers sacked him a few hours after a match, Forest got rid of Ange about 20 minutes after the final whistle. What do Spors, Parsons and co do after another piss poor showing. Whatever it is, about time they called time on this farce.
-
I heard that. How much fucking time did he want ? He had all pre-season, it wasn’t a late in the day appointment. Even allowing for the late arrivals to the end of the window he’s had long enough to motivate and shape the team. Some on here were praising the club for making the early appointment. The point I made at the time was it was more important to get the right appointment rather than a quick one. We certainly failed on that count.

Shames me to say it, but not a bad idea.
