  1. Seriously, it's a tragic waste, for a bloke who had everything. Sadly he either didn't have the right advisors around him, or did not listen to them. Wish him well in making a recovery, but sad thing is its only a matter of time until the next time he lapses.Gazza just has a self destruct mechanism.
  2. Take him a fishing rod and a bit of chicken, that'll help him sort it.
  3. Obviously that minor detail was lost on the Post Office then.

    Ironing

Yes, can she cycle up to Cheltenham once a week ?
  5. Clyne " wot, do you mean on your new grey scarf ?"
  6. Not signed by the new manager;not signed by the last one either. Perhaps its the Delgado factor.
  7. Just thinking about it,and off the top of my (beer fuddled) head: CM - Ball/Williams Left - probably Bridge/Marsden in recent times, but Dennis/Armstrong best pairing Right - Golac/Channon (ably assisted by Williams) in one touch passing down the right
  8. Not as good as Dixon/Speedie. All IBranfootsHO of course.
  9. That was in response to a question from Solent's question on the Sir Alex bottle of wine rather than any spontaneous wit on Pochetino's part by the way. Don't want you to think we've got Argentina's answer to Wee Gordon. I heard the interview and am slightly concerned by the translation. In answer to one question he clearly mentioned [ presumably performances and results at] Manchester United and Wigan, yet there was no mention of either in the translated reply. So, can't rely on each reply being accurate.Unless the translator edited out "yes its good to beat those c^nts, especially after not beating those other sweaty, plebby Lancastrian pie-eattting f^ckers at Manchester United, and Wigan..."
  10. Come on , thats well worth a place on any set of stamps surely ?
  11. I always thought his most significant contribution to the England squad was his rap in 'World in motion' British ? Not that either like to think of themselves as such.
  12. If you can't translate it for us what f^cking chance has Pochettino got ?
  13. I heard the announcement on tv that it was to mark the tragic events of the nightclub fire, and today was the 55th anniversary of the Munich air disaster. I suspect it was the Munich issue that triggered someones inevitable response. And it was twenty years ago,February 1993 (although not on 6th Feb) that Bobby Moore passed away.

    Redknapp

I wondered if that charming song would make a return. You didn't lead a chorus of "we're having a party, when Redknapp dies.." earlier in the season did you ?
  15. Both are left footed player, and from what I have seen of Yoshida, and read about Forren, both more likely to excell playing alongside a bigger, bruiser of a CB - young version of Jaidi is what was needed.
  16. He did not appear fit in October. He was also a desperate 'afterthought' as a signing rather than a carefully selected target. We brought him in, only on realisation that the other two were either not up to it, or ready. Had this been a plannned signing Boruc would have been here in the summer, not October. Thankfully, he does NOW appear fit and motivated. Shame it has taken half a season to get here though.
  17. Disgraceful if true. Even allowing for the fact the recipient might have been a gobby Lancastrian hurling insults.
  18. A Bristol Rovers supporter told me about Rickie Lambert a couple of years before we signed him, and how he was not "just" a Centre Forward who scored goals but dropped back bringing others into play. He thought RL could go on for years and that an advanced midfield role is where he would likely to end up "finding his natural position" that his range of passing could be fully used in. The next time I saw him(still inL1 at the time), he was not in anyway bitter about RL having signed for us but pleased he had joined a bigger club, and hoped he might get a chance in the Premiership, either with us or move on. I only bump into this bloke at a day at Gloucestershire Cricket so be interested to speaking with him again this summer if chance arises (hopefully with Premiership status still intact).
  19. May be an obvious suggestion, but have you tried The Saints store ? If it does not appear in the stock on the website, phone them or email them. Beyond that, no idea.
  20. With the exception of Hooiveld, our CB options at the moment all appear too lightweight. Shame that Hooiveld earlier in the season appears, at this level, to be playing in wellies too often. Fonte will offer a bit more 'muscle' on his return. Shame but we needed a 'dominating' CB in the window to sort this out, and again fell short in our targets. Perhaps Astori might have been the answer but it did not happen.
  21. Agreed. This though is far too much a sensible post, and not what we have come to expect of you Barry.
  22. I am not disagreeing with you on this one Dalek. In hindsight I was proved wrong in 2004 in not wanting Hoddle back - although we should still have been able to secure a replacement and progress without him but thats another story - hope my misgivings here are proved unfounded.
  23. passed the Prutton test with fluing colours then.
  24. But don't worry Dalek, he'll be able to attract bigger names to the club in the transfer window than "Atkins" managed to do.
  25. I'll wait to see a more informed opinion from someone at the game before commenting. So what does Benthelegend think of it ?
