  1. Yes, good suggestion. In many ways he might be better option for us than Baldock as Rhodes could also play the Rickie role to rest RL etc.
  2. Ditto. I fear this is a 'signing' we have lost out on and will regret. I'm not convinced by Warnock laying the 3week delay on us,as I expect the Puncheon issue had a bearing at their end.
  3. Interesting comparison. When I read about Waghorn he reminded me of another former Saint when he signed for us, Gordon Watson, as he seems a similar build and style of play.

Agree, and I think this was the role they had in mind for Rodriguez who might both play alongside, and instead of RL, probably grooming him to be RL's replacement in a couple of years or when we reach the Prem. Short term, I suspect Guly may be played up front when RL is not available or rested.
  5. No - providing NA believes the player has the ability to meet that expectation, won't upset the spirit on the bus, and also that they can't sign the same 'prospect' for £3m or less.
  6. You wonder about where and how they batter Mars bars up there don't you?

Perhaps Baldock has decided just to sleep on it.

  9. probably the only reason we bought him.

Do we still do our announcements at 2325hrs ? If so...may be soon.

True, but if the player/his agent are aware of another interest, esp from WHU they will want to speak with them.

But a straight choice for the player, us or the Hammers ?

Who knows, they may even be prepared to take him back ?
  14. He looks the proverbial 'mutt's nuts' in that video compilation. And,on the grounds that he looks less like one of the Millibands than Baldock, then we should sign Djordevic.

I would not want to release either at this stage frankly. LB remains a cult hero, and his case aside, I think he can make an impact still. Dickson has as much to offer as Harding, moreso going forward, and could play LM if required. Won't they take Holmes and Forecast ?

    I rest my case.

My recollection was in the box, after defenders/midfield allowed him too much time/space and it took a deflection. (Good job you and I are not being called to give evidence of a hit and run isn't it ?)

Any more than £2m is excessive, otherwise a better value deal than many suggested at £6m or even Sharp at £3.2m. Hope Dickson is not released.
  19. Are we sure we're not trying to sign that d!ck Tony Robinson from the Time Team ? Saxon ruins under St Mary's and all that.

Drawn in the group: So the prospect of playing against Barcelona, AC Milan and putting yourself in a window..."nah, f^ck it..I'll play against Blackpool and Peterborough instead...".
  21. OK I'm convinced, lets sign him. I'm struggling to think of too many matching our criteria, and would not be surprised if we pulled one out of Europe that none of us have heard of.* *what is Zoltan Liptak up to these days ?
  22. In saying that about his age and previous experience etc, rememember that Matt Elliott only got into top division football late in his career (although possibly a bit younger than 29) when he joined Leicester. At the time I questioned if he would be agood signing as Souness was chasing him.Just goes to show that we can not write off a player due to age etc if they don't fit in with the blueprint.
  23. If true, Robinson is aged 29,no experience of promotion to the Premiership, and little time on his side to develop if we get there.Isn't this why we are said not to have pursued Gorkss ?

  25. Lat time I looked at the qualifying tables, Belgium looked as capable of qualifying for Ero's 2012 as England. Every now and then a 'smaller' footballing country produce a generation of good players, look at Denmark in the early 1990's as prime example. Belgium seem to be in that position now.
