  1. Excellent. It'd be good to return to the kits from that era, a time when Saints were at their pinnacle (!) in English football.
  2. I can share some of docker's concerns about this at the moment ie Pinnacle fronting a bid from unknown buyers,Pinnacle themselves largely unknown. But if FF and Weston who seem to have a closer and more reliable ear to the ground than most, are able to give us some 'assurances' - as best they can - on it then thats good enough for me at the moment. Only when facts are known will we be able to make a better assessment.
  3. Gold is actually more like Wolves (old gold),than amber. Not sure what you mean by deep cream but it sounds similar to a fairly tasteless effort c10 years ago, described as 'ecru' if I remember correctly (or 'sepia' for a similar Liverpool coloured shirt at the time.). You may of course be right that yellow is not the best commercial option.
  4. Would get my vote.
  5. Didn't realise it was that close to the wire. Middlesboro' were 30 minutes away from closure. Lets hope we don't go for breaking the record;the margin for error is slim and we'd inevitably balls it up.
  6. Doubt it,as he left Reading in a fairly acrimonious departure for West Ham.If I remember correctly Madjeskii put him on 'gardening leave' for the two or three months of his notice period rather than let him walk out to suit.
  7. I suspect Reading will probably want a higher level proven manager er Curbishley, or Brendan Rogers at Watford who has Reading connections.Anyway I suspect Lawrie, and MLT have had a word with Tisdale at the Hughes testimonial !
  8. Agree.I saw then dumped 46-6 or something v Bath at Twickenham in 1990Didn't go to the recent fiasco v Cardiff Blues but never anticipated such an implosion by them in a cup final (again),which was worse than 1990. Point being I suspect St Q. has enough on his plate at Kingsholm without getting involved in us.
  9. Looks like he is already perfecting the art of dealing with sackings of "head coaches" : http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/sport/news/snap-decision-Ryan-s-future-8211-St-Quinton/article-986343-detail/article.html
  10. Yes including this : That seems to complete a rather worrying circle doesn't it ? Also : Wasn't one of the Ch Island geezers a Quinten ? And this chap has a bald head,as did SCW who of course was also a rugger-bugger . Too many co-incidences here. Its getting eerie.

    press conference

Our last was probably the 'Arry and SCW' freak show, inspired by Ruppo's circus.
  12. Palace the first time round was a success taking them into the old Div 1 and to a cup final. Brighton as I recall were top of their division when he quit for Reading. Can't remember if it was Peter Taylor or Adams who replaced him and took the praise for their promotion. To be fair to the bloke - though I'm not a great admirer - his record at such clubs has in the past been good but then so was Burley's.
  13. I accept that, but am also concerned about going for a manager with perhaps his best days behind him.I would prefer an up and coming manager who is hungry to succeed and build the club and his career.Tisdale fits that bill. And as someone else said Coppell is a miserable bastard.
  14. Showing your age using that phrase. Agree with you though, that a couple of wins and some sign of promise on the field with a respected board and our gates will jump to levels higher than most CCC clubs next season despite being in L1.
  15. Well not according to the OS at the time;). Yes, you are right he did,and also agree he'll still find a club at CCC level.
  16. as opposed to when 'Arry was here and just (alledgedly) on 'the fiddle' !
  17. Perhaps those 'contacts' in the City were only too well aware of what Lowe might be capable of. Perhaps this is why Rupert was no longer welcome at the Drones club and had to come out to the sticks where he could lord it over us peasants.
  18. Conjures a wonderful Pythonesque image of 4 Americans (gum chewing etc in dark suits, dark glasses, the hats etc) and two Sicilian aquantances or distant family (dressed similarly),all carrying violin cases etc.
  19. As well as giving us an indication of their wealth, can you give us a guide as to how "oversesas" they are ? EU overseas ? America,or Canada overseas ? Or far or middle-east overseas ? Or Soviet oligarch who was once overseas but now in London ?
  20. As Lowe and Wilde are now nowhere to be seen,is Saint Leon's offer of £2m still on the table ? As Saints could now do with it,or even half or a quarter of it by next week.
  21. Take it that was a rhetorical question Trousers ? There must be more financial geniuses per square mile on the Ch Islands than anywhere else in the world. And yet the best we attracted from there to date is Mikey 'COYR' Wilde !
  22. But didn't LC also fuel some of the Allen speculation two years ago ? I'm not sure LC is such an impeccable source when it comes to such speculation frankly.Whilst he did not expressly state Allen was interested,he did little to quell the rumours once they reached a frenzied state when it must have been apparent within SMS that such hopes were really in cloud cuckooland.
  23. Yes we will all agree with that. But I wonder if the timing of this is in anyway connected to the comments from Wilde that the Echo are also running.
  24. Whichever way you look at it this is an outrageous admission by Wilde although clearly not intended to be so. He was complicit in clearing out a manager who had previously worked with young players at the U21 level and had experience of our league. The replacements were brought in to ' work with young players' but had no experience of our league. When it was obvious such a revolutionary coaching set up was a dismal failure he wanted to bring in a "British mananager" rather than appoint one of 'his' original choices.Surely this amounts to him recognising the original actions and appointment was an error ? Nowhere does the article contain an admission of getting it wrong nor apology. It seems to rank in the 'Kurt Waldheim league' of don't blame me, perhaps Wilde should add the rest saying he didn't really know what was going on. And perhaps he didn't,as he probably was not involved in the real decision making.
  25. Would have been good when we first wanted him after relegation, but signed Hajto instead.Has he not been injured a lot in the last two seasons ? If injury free could be a good signing for L1.
