  1. My comparison was not an expectation by any means.
  2. Yes, fair point of course. (Butterfly effect, wasn’t that one of MLG’s great topics ?).
  3. Good effort from those at the back again yesterday in getting an atmosphere going. Well done.
  4. Not just by giving the ball back, but a poor headed clearance. And Bazunu way off his line.
  5. Might give their manager a miss, although I think he has got one promotion (Exeter) to his name. So one more than RM. Their GK on the other hand would be worth watching between now and the next window.
  6. As things stand at the moment, sad but true.

Thanks for the background info. Perhaps I should look forward to the good fortunes and transformation as Goztepe are enjoying reaching St Mary’s .
  8. I looked up the 2011/12 season and noticed that in October 2011 Reading were 10 points behind us but made up ground. But I’m not expecting us to put anything like that run of form together.
  9. Have to wonder what sort of numbnuts in the Press Office thought this was something to shout from the rooftops, or that it would impress the masses. Assuming it didn’t come from a higher level than our marketing team of course. I’d accept the view that he didn’t have the resources at Swansea or MK that he’d get here, but even so that stat and graphic does nothing to inspire the fanbase.

Glad to see Rasmus &Co doing their best there as well now. What is the Midas touch in reverse called, where things turn to shit?
  11. Not sure it's just Sports Republic or anything new., although it doesn't reflect well on them. But we've got a long history of buying crocks. Remember Delgado, and Charlie George from the 1970's. I'm sure there were others, but those two stay in the memory.
  12. Didn’t Phil Kite make a rare appearance for us there in a(nother) cup upset ? Seem to recall he clobbered Mark Wright or one of CB’s putting them out of action when coming for a cross.
  13. Club perhaps seeing it as a reason for hiking the price next season as it gets more popular ….
  14. Yes. The sort of stat that acts as quite a disincentive to go … we know how Saints can be the most obliging opponents
  15. A council spokesperson said blue lights were installed on the bridge as red had been considered potentially problematic for mariners and pilots. Photograph: Katharina Brandt/Alam Isn't the red light on the building on the left also problematic for pilots ?
  16. First time this season (I think) that the opposition had more possession. And we won. RM won’t be happy though.
  17. Probably regarded as a good bet for goals being scored, at one end even if not the other.

Clearly Rasmus needs to be careful. He’s upset fans at SMS so may get some booing, and possibly a thermos flask thrown at him by a codger in the Itchen near the Directors box. At Goztpe he could end up on a kebab skewer. Wonder how long to piss Valenciennes off.
  19. To Branfoot’s credit though I think he handled the abuse well. He always faced up to it, and continued to walk the touchline to the dugouts. By comparison, I recall Chris Nicholl started to watch the first half from the Directors Box when he was facing flak (especially after the dispute with Mark Dennis). He’d then come to the touch line 10-15 minutes into the second half, almost hoping no one would notice. Fortunately for him he did turn things round and his popularity improved.
  20. Paul Moody to replace MLT!! Could have deprived us of seeing one of the greatest individual goals in the club’s history.

Say this for him, Rasmus is at least consistent in his ability to piss people off.
  22. Lose the next two, and that will be six in row. Pretty loud alarm bells will be going off, surely sufficient to wake our dickheads up and call to action ?
  23. Yes, I remember that but it was a fanzine headline, it certainly wouldn't bring any sanctions against the club though would it ?(being kicked out the league as you mentioned). Lets face it, Millwall are still in the league despite pitch invasions, and threats to life over a few decades. The headline was picked up by the national media at the time, I remember it was subject of discussion on Radio 5 as I think it was then. General conclusion was it was pretty shameful, but just the work of a few 'hotheads'.
  24. Forest fan told me in the summer when we were linked with RM that in their promotion season they beat Swansea 4 and 5-1 from recollection. On both occasions Swansea had about 70% possession, and continued to pass it between themselves across the back four without going anywhere.
  25. Sods Law we’d lose 1-0. Don’t forget Saints would still be in shock, and traumatised by the RM experience. Scar tissue Mk II.
