88 mins is a bit misleading when there were 10 mins played after. 2 goals let in in 12 mins has happened to a lot better sides than us. It’s bizarre to read the manager getting stick, when tactically he got it right and the players getting clog when they actually showed some fight. WTF are some of our supporters on?

Fuck me. I’m not a fane of Baz, but he made a good save and it fell to one of them. They handed us a goal, and everyone would have taken a point. Whether it’s a good point depends on other results this weekend. You can question this lots commitment all season, and I have frequently, but not tonight. Great performance .

There’s no point in playing Tall Paul in this one. We’re not going to see enough of the ball to get decent crosses in and you need some mobility up top. Che can just about get away with it, but Tall Paul is a different level of immobility. The options if Che is out are woeful, even lacking a Shane long type figure to hassle their defenders, be a bit physical and chase lost causes. Fuck me, A Armstrong is probably the best defensively & chasing wise, whereas Mara probably the best technically. I can therefore perfectly understand playing a false 9 against Arsenal, that’s not an issue for me. The issue is the false 9 home to Crystal fucking Palace.

I don’t think for one minute that Badger is racist. He clearly didn’t realise that calling someone “coloured” isn’t acceptable nowadays. I didn’t release myself until my 22 year old daughter pointed it out to me. However,unlike Badger I accepted my mistake and learnt from it. The thing I noticed was Tall Paul was isolated, with the other attacking players hugging the touch line when the back 4 or keeper had the ball. This indicated to me that the mincing around at the back was a tactical thing as opposed to the players thinking for themselves. Surely if he’s playing you need a quick player up with him, & JWP further forward. You can then knock long straight and diagonal balls up to him. A flick on and the quick player chases it, a defensive header impeded by Tall Paul drops around the area Prowse can have a dig. Wolves home was horrendous second half, but first half it worked quite well. They’ll obviously be some aimless punts that go straight through to the keeper or into touch, but id rather that than watching the slow slow mincing around. IF we’re going to play Tall Paul, we need to play different tactics, playing the same way we did with a false nine is madness and it makes Tall Paul look an absolute dummy. If relegation expert Fat Sam had walked into the club when Jones left, do you think he’d be playing this way, of course not. He’d sort out the back 4 and then set up to get a tune out of Tall Paul, we’ve got enough nippy skilful runners to latch onto his flicks, and we’ve got JWP to have a go if it gets half cleared from the mixer. Not pretty, but fucking hell we’re not exactly Miss World at the moment.

We had a shite keeper in AM and somehow managed to replace him with somebody just as bad. The criminal thing is there’s a good chance we could ruin the young man’s top level career, his confidence must be rock bottom and it may get even worse for him next season. In general the supporters have been pretty understanding at the game, probably because of his age and the awful side in front of him. But if he starts next season in a similar way, they won’t be so accommodating. He could well end up bumping around the lower leagues, whereas had he been our number 2, or been loaned out to a championship or even abroad, he could learn his trade and make his errors away from the harsh spotlight of the premier league. Maybe then, as his confidence grows he would be ready. Kelvin has been mentioned a bit on this thread, how he was excellent for us until we got to the promised land. Remember he had an awful spell at Sunderland in the top flight previously, and I’m sure that played on his mind a bit second time around. Some people are strong enough to use that experience to drive them on, whereas others are haunted by it and it affects them next time. Is Baz strong enough to overcome this experience, because he’ll know deep down he’s not been good enough (although maybe he should have a chat with Whitey who could reassure him it’s Bednarek who let the soft goals in), if he has the slightest doubt he doesn’t belong at the top level, he won’t get back there. The atmosphere is going to get toxic over the next few weeks, he needs taking out of the firing line and AM or Willy put in to face the music.

Perhaps if he sorted his studs out he’d be a bit better. A few times he looked like me walking home in the snow after a lunchtime session….

If you switched him with Pickford, Everton would be down already and we’d probably be out of the bottom 3. Keepers do save shots behind poor defenders, they play well and turn 1-0 defeats into 0-0. This clown just doesn’t do that. I can’t recall any point we’ve picked up this season which people thought was down to Baz. In fact the 3 points at home to Leicester were gained despite Baz, after his last minute superman impression. He doesn’t make anything other than routine saves, and he fucks too many of those up as well. He’s clearly the worst goal keeper in the league.

Has there ever been a club that’s sacked the whole back room staff in the summer & kept the manager. I can’t recall one. The writing was on the wall for Ralph then. Ridiculous decision to think it would end in anything else other than Ralph leaving sooner rather than later. That was the time to either back Ralph, or have a total reset.
