There’s a thread for chick football. People don’t want to come on a thread “other games” and read about it. I wouldn’t post about The Dog & Duck playing the Red lion on it. I guess we’re going to need an “other games male”, “other games female” thread, and probably an “other games other” thread. Far better to stick to the chick thread.

I take it there’s not much money to pay fitness coaches, some of them seem a bit chunky.

Poor…. The equivalent is posting about your kids go kart on a formula 1 forum. They’ll be about as interested as most blokes are on chicks football.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Agreed That right wing fascist Tony Benn spent years opposing the EU, together with those fucking Thatcherites Peter Shaw, Barbara Castle and Bob Crow. For someone on the progressive, intelligent side of the debate, I’m surprised you’ve fallen for the remain pony that Brexit is somehow a ring wing phenomenon. The left were far more vehement in their opposition than the majority of the Tory party. It was only when Jacques Delors blew smoke up their arse and gave them what the electorate wouldn’t, that they became cheerleaders. It nearly broke the Labour Party, just as much as it nearly broke the Tories. Even the Sweaty nationalist party were anti EEC, and more sweaties voted to leave than voted for Krankie. It’s a complex issue that has divided into many different forms over the years, but I guess it’s just easier and simple to call it a Right Wing coup. It also gives you comfort, the feeling that you lost trying to protect us from right wing loons, as opposed to what really happened, you profoundly misunderstood the country you live in. -

The system actively discourages the brightest and the best from becoming MP’s. We don’t pay them enough, we don’t allow them second jobs (or more accurately the court of public opinion doesn’t) & they’re under unbelievable scrutiny. Add to that the real threat of violence , why would any sane person, let alone a highly intelligent one, want to become an MP. -

I’ve never particularly been a fan, posted as much when he was first appointed. But as a senior Labour politician said in relation to Bercow (I think it was Margaret Beckett )” Brexit trumps bad behaviour “. He was the only option to stop Brexit being stolen from the people, he was a vehicle to get it done. My point was, how bad are the opposition if they keep losing to him? It reminds me of a heavy Liverpool defeat when Shanks bollocked them all, with the unplayed sub quietly thinking “I knew he should of picked me”. Before he leaves the room Shanks turns to him and says “and as for you, how shit must you be, you can’t even get in this fucking side”. Perhaps if Labour had better policies, and were more in tune with the ENGLISH voters, they wouldn’t have to vote for him. -

Better than Corbyn would be, and that was the choice at the last election. Better than Johnnie Mayor, who seems to be the lefties Tory of choice these days. The funny thing is he’s a fucking pinko, nearer to Sir Kier Starmer than the great lady. He’s a high spending high tax Blairite that is only hated by the “intelligent people” because he led the Leave campaign. -

😂 Boris deranged syndrome is more contagious than Covid on here. Fuck me, 2 terms as London Mayor, winning the Brexit referendum and a massive commons majority. Just shows how completely hopeless & out of touch Labour must be, rogered by a halfwitted goldfish. I don’t particularly rate the bloke, but he certainly upsets the right people. you lot are so out of touch. -
Mark Hughes was a strange strange appointment. Peligrino wasn’t particularly . He ticked a lot of our boxes at the time.

Which game are you watching

It wasn’t really. Played for Barcelona, Valencia & Liverpool. Played in 2 champions league finals, won 2 la Ligas and The UEFA cup, played for Argentina. Was Benitez assistant, and despite getting the sack from Valencia, got Alavés to the copa del Rey final. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, he’s a terrible manager. He had the pedigree on paper and at that moment in time ,for a club like ours, it wasn’t that strange.

Despite being a life long republican, this is making me reconsider.

If what you’re saying is true (and I’ve no reason to doubt you), reform is clearly needed. It’s going to be the mother of all battles and I’m not sure Boris has the spine to see it through. A bit of Maggie needed. -

I did t say he was, I said he should be treated like one. A subtle difference obviously too complicated for you to grasp. It’s nothing to do with “standards” or morals or any other sort of pony, that’s for voters/his party to decide. When it comes to the law, he shouldn’t be above it, or treated more harshly than anyone else. You clearly want people treated differently depending on their position in society. -
They won’t be very happy with KWP, he’s obviously not listening to the coaching staff. Anyway isn’t Tino & Liv the same person? Perhaps that’s what has caused his drop off in form, he’s trying to do the job of 2 players.

How is wanting to be independent of Scotland & NI bringing back the empire, it’s exactly the opposite. You do realise it was a British empire and not an English empire don’t you?
-
The break up of the union will be a benefit of Brexit, but it’ll probably end up saving it. An independent Scotland & RUK in the EU together is a totally different beast to an independent Scotland when RUK is outside The EU. Of course Brexit gives them something to ramp up the whinging, but when given the chance to put up or shut up, they’ll not have the balls to go it alone. Devolution, not Brexit is the biggest danger to The Union. That’s the next battleground.

The only fantasy is people trying to claim Starmer has somehow done something honourable or courageous. If Dom didn’t get a fine for conducting his eye sight “test”, what on Earth possess people to think Starmer will get fined for a couple of noggins and a Ruby. If they conclude (as they did with Dom) that he broke the rules but don’t fine him, then surely whether he’s fined is irrelevant. I’d bet my bottom dollar that more allegations come out regarding Starmer bending the rules. Somebody in the know will want him replaced and he’s left himself wide open to be stabbed in the back. Anyone who thinks this is a one off is in fantasy world. The rules were so poorly written and so confusing they’ll be more. -

Which is why Boris shouldn’t have been fined. He should be treated as an ordinary Joe, not above the law or treated more harshly. Same with Starmer. I’ve been consistent, neither should be fined. Most on here take a different view, they think Boris should be retrospectively fined but Starmer not. I’m pretty sure you’d be using your famous cutting put downs if it was the other way round. -

Lord Duckhunter replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
He won’t get a fine. Durham police has previously said they don’t issue retrospective fines to covid offenders. Fucking hell, if they do the lefties will be going ballistic and quite frankly who can blame them? Nobody should be above the law, but nobody should be treated differently because of who they are. Starmer is a slimy hypocrite, but if they don’t issue fines retrospectively, they shouldn’t make an exception for him. If Dom didn’t get one, it’s pretty hard to think what you need to do for Durham police to do so, -

Lord Duckhunter replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
So the fact the same police force that investigated Dom are investigating Starmer and the fact that they didn’t issue a fine to Dom,stating that they don’t issue retrospective fines for covid offences has no relevance? Once Starmer said he’d resign if he got a fine from Durham police , Doms previous became an issue seeing as Starner called for him to go despite no receiving a fine from the same force. -

Dear god. But you’re right, there was nothing dodgy about it. They’d have done the same with Labour. As Durham police did. -

I’ll ask again. What if he isn’t fined, but judged to have broken the rules in a “minor” way (as Dom was). Seeing as he called for Dom to be sacked, should he resign? -

Dom wasn’t fined by Durham plod after breaking the rules. Has anyone asked Sir Kier what he’ll do if a similar scenario plays out?
