Did you see the Alex Ferguson documentary the other day. Players were saying that when he had Archie Knox as his asst their approach was was Bad cop/even worse cop. It looks to me that Ralph and his staff use the Good cop/even nicer cop management approach.

I don’t know too much about gun control, is it the normal plods responsibility or is there a separate firearm type agency whose sole responsibility is policing gun control?

What makes you think he’ll be an “angry shouty English man” as manager. Fairly simplistic thought process , loud vocal player=loud vocal manager. Watching him work at Villa, he wasn’t up and at em like some other assistants.

Premier league captain for season after season, leader of men , England international, one of the best defenders and readers of the game in the premier league era, part of Dean Smiths back room staff for a couple of seasons, yet a joke for a massive club like Southampton. I said first post, it was a gamble, but a gamble I’d take. Nobody can argue with his playing credentials or his credibility with the players, particularly the central defenders. If his name was Johann Terryikintas, played over a decade in Germany, wining the title & countless international caps, I suspect he’d be viewed differently. Anyway it’s not going to happen, our soft arsed club will want a yes man who is a nice bloke.

How do you know how good or bad John Terry is, he hasn’t managed a fucking club yet. But yeah, let’s get some unknown in, good shout. He can’t be worse than John Terry, he has a 0% win percentage

There’s a lot of managers out thought tactically by Rafa, there’s no shame in that. However, bring tactically out thought by every single fucking manager, pretty much every single fucking game , a different matter. People deride Fat Sam for his 4-4-fucking 2, but this bloke is just as inflexible, just as stuck in his ways as any of the old school managers. FFS nothing changed after the pathetic end to last season.

Howe can’t organise a defence anymore than Ralph can. Personally, I’d go for John Terry. But of a gamble but may give us a bit of the leadership we need.

Doesn’t look like we’re hurting when we concede. I remember Bruce G letting a soft shot through his hands and going absolutely nuts at the back 4. Keepers always used to take pride in clean sheets, were personally offended when a goal went in, lashing out at all around. Our 2 just shrug their shoulders and pick the ball out of the net. It runs right through the side. When was the last time you saw the manager bollocking a player or 2 players having a go.

Stephens & OR are the two that have the right attitude and to some extent Bednarek. But we’re like a shitty version of Arsenal. Lots of technically good players, probably great trainers, easy to coach and decent lads. But, you need 4 or 5 rascals, 4 or 5 horrible blokes that opposition supporters and players hate. It’s not just about putting yourself about (although you need 2 or 3 that do). Just having that nasty edge, Richarlison has it, and he doesn’t run round clogging people. We need some arrogance, some attitude.

Everton were 10th last season. A game is 2 halves.
