Problem is it’s not an exact science when picking up oldies, some you think will be great, are pony. There’s no manager that comes close to Lawrie when it comes to picking oldies for us, yet it was disastrous at Sunderland. Fat Sam did well at Bolton following a similar approach. What made Lawrie great was mixing the youngsters in with them. Bally had to be the greatest IMO. But he certainly wasn’t afraid of personalities.

I was at that game. Ensured we qualified for our first World Cup since ‘70

What about Peter Reid under Branfoot, that was another weird one. I think he was Branfoot’s mate.

One of the reasons some of us voted the way we did.

Sad news, as I posted on the euro thread, I knew him during the 80’s and spent quite a few nights out with him. Decent bloke, funny, and down to earth. RIP.

Sad news on the eve of the game. The death of ex international Paul Mariner. Despite playing for the skates he was a bloody decent bloke, I spent quite a few nights sinking pints with him during his spell with the Albany Capitals in the 80’s. He was a passionate Englishman great company, not a billy big bollocks at all.

It’s a crime even if you don’t use the bbc services, that’s the difference. Unless you can get locked up for not paying for Netflix despite not watching it. So it’s not the same thing.

Interesting article from John Humphreys on bbc pay. Saying he was extremely well paid and “I didn't exactly drive a hard bargain with the bosses. I didn't even employ an agent to put the squeeze on for me. There was no need to.” He then added “When presenters were banned at the height of the Iraq crisis from writing for newspapers I was called by a BBC boss and told not to worry, they'd make sure I didn't lose out financially. I rather enjoyed being paid for writing a column without actually having to write it.” Says it’s better now, but it needs to change its approach to paying its “talent” and says it’s now facing “the biggest crisis it has ever faced”.

So is burglary, drink driving & flashing your cock, what’s that got to do with going to prison if you don’t pay for the BBC?

We used to have all this pony in the 70’s & 80’s. Loads of foreign players said it gave them an extra incentive to put one over us.

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester

The problem is Jenas will probably be co commentator on BBC. -
The team/supporters whose anthem is getting booed I’d imagine.

He seemed genuinely confused that the Danes had 10 men, complete and utter fuck up. He only mentioned it at the end and didn’t seem to realise they restarted second period of ET with 10. Unprofessional -
It’s moronic and self defeating.
-
No, I judge him on how he plays, which barring the odd performance has been shite. #LDgacy
-
Unbelievable isn’t it. Hes been far and away our biggest threat in the tournament, yet people are still wanting him hooked.

Walker was superb, Kane played well, but Sterling MoTM. Fair play to Southgate, ruthless subbing the sub, but you can’t argue with what he’s done. Keeper is the only worry for me, he’s borderline Boruc, I’m not sure he’s all there.
-
Swap the keepers over and we win 3-0. Well deserved. Best 2 teams in final. Horrendous commentary, didn’t even realise they were down to 10 men till right before the end. Skate twat

I’d get Foden on
-
Harry Kane made that, absolutely superb pass
-
Keepers got to save that
-
Brilliant Walker
-
Correct. His pace is vital & he allows us to switch tactically. To me, he’s one of our most important players.
-
He’s class,
-
No, consistent as ever, he’s supporting us now
