  1. Yeah, exactly the same . 3 of their greatest ever players, who’ve won the league more than once. As opposed to an average midfielder who wouldn’t get in our top 100 of all time.
  2. In some ways it’s welcome that the club backed the manager and signed someone he wanted against the wishes of everyone else. In principle that can be a good sign, it’s just the wrong manager this time. I’m sure there’s examples where a manager insisted on a player against the scouting team, and that player turned out a success. Pelle was clearly a Koeman signing, it would be interesting to know what the recruitment committee discussed with that one. It’s all well and good the recruitment guys washing their hands of this one, making it known how bad it was. However bad this one was , some of the ones tracked with more thought were just as god damn awful.
  3. I agree, if his wages are reasonable he will defo add something to the squad.
  4. I think Hockey struggles with the concept that the Tory party is a broad church. To him they’re all raging right wingers. It’s a stunning example of where the Brexit debate has perverted the narrative and warped the debate. Some people equate voting to leave as a Tory, means you’re right wing. Presumably this is because the outriders pre UKIP we’re Bill Cash, Redwood & other right wing Tories, and the UKIP leadership was mainly drawn from the right. Therefore because Johnson voted to leave and is a Tory, in their simple minds this makes him “right wing”. The fact is, he’s more liberal than Theresa May & certainly more liberal than Johnnie Major. He’s nearer Ken Clarke, Fat Pang & Grocer Heath’s idea of the Toryism, than IDS or The Great Lady’s. Him & Gove are Cameron Tories, Blue new labour, not right wing in any way shape or form. That’s why they’re making such a mess of everything, pinkos always do. They want to be all things to all men, won’t make tough decisions and are led by polls & focus groups. They’re part of the blob, the liberal soggy blob that’s governed us since the great lady was stabbed in the back. The membership need this lot to deliver Brexit, then find another Thatcher to radically reform the country.
  5. No wonder Maidstone is so dangerous, even pensioners abuse each other. Do you have to be an old c*nt, to use that greeting, or could a youngster call you one?
  6. #clueless. What a load of pony, Johnson is not far right. I await your long boring explanation of how you didn’t really mean Johnson, despite naming him.
  7. I employ people & don’t take a blind bit of notice of their exam results. They’ve all been dumbed down so far that most are irrelevant. University education is going the same way, 20+ years ago if a graduate sat in front of me it meant something , now they’re all fucking going. I look at the school they attended, university they went to, and then how they come across at interview. There are other things considered if it’s a chick, but that’s better left unwritten. The other thing that’s become meaningless is references from a previous employer.
  8. Perhaps other countries teachers are better.
  9. Are deaths and hospitalisations as high as they’ve ever been?
  10. I didn’t claim they were geographically accurate, merely that diseases were named previously.
  11. Start? Spanish flu German measles Ebola Middle East respiratory syndrome Hong Kong flu Lyme disease Guinea worm Norovirus
  12. Sitting in a bubble, isolated from other fans and walking round a one way system, sounds pretty horrendous to me. Not to mention the jobsworth stewards who’ll no doubt be telling you where to stand & who to keep apart from. The atmosphere is pretty dire at modern football grounds as it is, this sounds horrendous to be honest. Without away fans, and a scattering of “bubbles” with vast gaps in between, it’ll have the feel of a league cup tie against Rochdale on a wet weds evening in Nov. I’ll renew just to ensure my seat when we’re back to normal, but doubt I’ll be too bothered if I miss out on the ballot.
  13. Absolutely, 100%. Ive 4 kids, 2 went to Grammar 2 didn’t. The difference in education they got was like night and day. The Boys one had a lot of privileged kids whose parents had gone private prior to the entrance exam, but the girls school was full of poorer kids & a lot of girls with Asian backgrounds (far in excess of the local population %). The problem pre comprehensive wasn’t the Grammar schools, but the shitty education the majority who failed to get in got. They basically abolished the bit that was working, instead of the bit that wasn’t. Grammar schools aren’t for everyone, (my sister didn’t send my niece there despite her passing the entrance exam, and my lad would probably have been better off in the top stream of a comprehensive rather the bottom of a Grammar), but they should play a role in every area of the country, rather than a few isolated places. The Tories should be ashamed their not making the case for them, it’s a great tool for social mobility. Not only for poor kids, but middle class ones as well.
  14. Absolutely. 100%. It’s a scandal, but the most scandalous thing is that the so called Tory party went along with the dismantling of Grammar schools and the general dumbing down of university education.
  15. The kids competing with the ones given exaggerated grades will probably give a shit, as an employee I will as well. As for your second point, If they got A’s in their mocks, the triple lock announced means they’ll get A’s, so don’t know where you saw that example. The BBC probably. At the end of the day, the anger should be directed in the direction of the people who closed the schools and cancelled the exams, and the people cheering them on. That’s what’s caused the issue.
  16. Behave. Not obvious at all.
  17. Bit like many teachers then. Once Johnson caved in and closed schools this was always going to happen. The people moaning from the sidelines now we’re the same ones pushing the most to close schools. It wasn’t beyond the wit or wisdom of man to socially distance the A level & GCSE pupils & continue their schooling, before sitting socially distanced exams. It’s a scandal that it didn’t happen. Clearly Johnson will fold and do a Krankie, allowing the inflated teacher predictions to stand. It’s the latest watering down of education in this country. As an ordinary joe I thank my lucky stars my brightest 2 were able to attend Grammar schools, a luxury most parents are denied.
  18. Barca are defending like we did against Leicester
  19. If they’ve got no identity papers, where do we send them back to?
  20. Anyone who thinks Johnson is going to cut immigration, hasn’t been studying his career very closely. He’s even proposed an amnesty in the past.
  21. He doesn’t seem to understand the Brexit immigration debate was over FoM, legal immigration. We always had the levers to control illegal immigration (just not the will),we now have control of legal immigration as well. Whether we use that control is open to debate, but it’s there, and it wasn’t before leaving.
  22. If face masks can be fiddled with without causing an issue, why do NHS staff receive training which specifically says touching them is a risk to themselves, patients and the spread of the disease. Why are they told not to reuse them, but to throw them away each and every time they have to touch them. Why are they also given comprehensive instructions of how to dispose of them safely?
  23. Do you understand the difference between legal immigration & illegal immigration?
  24. This is just a complete pony argument.
  25. Exactly. My snap dragon was given pages and pages of instructions for wearing of masks in her hospital. From not touching your face, to disposing of it correctly. None of this is followed by the public. You should see the state of some of the face coverings I’ve seen this week, dirty and in and out of pockets, handbags etc, and reused over and over. I even saw one plank pull it down to have a fag outside the co op, before pulling it back over his face. Completely pointless nannying from the Government.
