Armstrong is a championship striker. Scores goals against championship keepers, championship defenders and championship sides. Nothing I’ve seen from him convinces me he’ll score more than a handful of goals at Premier league level.
-
Really? That’s what makes you such a great guy, you think outside the box. Well done, great post…
-
Had Soggy blamed the far right yet?
-
Hopefully he doesn’t

It’ll be a fucking miracle. If him & Che fucking Adams play regularly, the outcome will be exactly the friggin same as last time they “performed “ in this league.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Lord Duckhunter replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Ridiculous… -
Agreed. Should have been 10. The action resulted in chaos on the M25 over four successive days, causing nearly 51,000 hours of driver delays, the court heard. The protests closed parts of the motorway in Kent, Surrey, Essex and Hertfordshire. People missed flights, medical appointments and exams. Two lorries collided, and a police motorcyclist came off his bike during one of the protests on 9 November 2022 while trying to bring traffic to a halt in a “rolling road block”. Prosecutors alleged the protests led to an economic cost of at least £765,000, while the cost to the Metropolitan Police was put at more than £1.1m'

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
Lord Duckhunter replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
They could have been straight with the British people when seeking a mandate. When the Tories proposed the same thing Shabana Mahmood criticised them & said once in power labour would build more prisons & lock more people up. Clearly, they’ve no intention of doing either. Strange, because it was a basic duty a couple of months ago, not now it seems. As she said; “People up and down will be asking: if this government can't fulfil the basic duty of keeping criminals locked up, why are they still the government”. They could also stop pretending the situation is worse than they thought, as they knew full well the exact situation. Meet the new broom, same as the old broom. -
You said she was an immigrant, nothing about “second generation”. Ask your fascist dining companion, I’m sure he uses similar language
-
It’s not the Tory members that automatically assume a non white MP is an immigrant. It’s a certain poster on here.
-
Fucking hell. There’s a lot to criticise the Tories for, but this isn’t one of them. Had Kemi or Bravamen been sent to the members last time out they’d have won, no fucking bother. The problem with the process is the pinko parliamentary party try and gerrymander the process and they kept Kemi out of the final 2. There’s only one major party that has only had white middle aged men as leaders & it’s not Tory, SNP or LD’s.

Course they fucking will. It’s the Labour Party that only elects white middle aged men.
-
No they won’t. If people didn’t vote tactically, they wouldn’t get anywhere near the votes they get under FPTP. It is gong away.
-
Fucking hell, a couple of days away and I see SoG is still fighting the good fight, trying to get more Reform MP’s into parliament. Don’t let the usual suspects grind you down Soggy, more MP’s like Nige & Rupert is good for democracy.

You don’t half come out with some cobblers.

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher slams Glastonbury for becoming ‘Woke’ and calls festival goers waving Palestinian flags “F*king Idiots.’ The musician took aim at this years festival after it was filled with Pro-Palestine messaging. “It’s getting a bit woke now, that place, and a bit kind of preachy and a bit virtue-signalling. I don’t like it in music – little f*cking idiots waving flags around and making political statements and bands taking the stage and saying, ‘Hey guys, isn’t war terrible, yeah? Let’s all boo war. F*ck the Tories man,’ and all that. It’s like, look – play your f*cking tunes and get off.” Source: The Guardian

Do you need 100k constituencies under PR? I imagine you’ll end up with Regions long term, but pure PR where 20% of votes equals 20% of seats , you don’t.
-
The SNP would be fucked under this Soggy PR. They’re pretty much a single issue party, with only a tiny % of the UK population giving a shiny shite about their independence.
-
No he employs them. Looks like they’ve abandoned the “tough on crime” bit of the new Labour slogan, as he thinks we lock up too many people. Interesting to see the results.
-
I’m on ignore, so you wouldn’t see it anyway.

This is the whole point of FPTP & why the Americans vote for their president the way they do. It protects low population areas & stops all decisions and policy favouring the high population areas. 6 Cornish MP’s could influence legislation when there’s a small majority, far more than 600,000 votes ever could. If Gaza support is important to a local area, why shouldn’t that view be reflected in Parliament. Fuck me, people moan about London enough as it is, imagine how bad it would be if legislators were elected under PR. Who are you to decide on what or how many issues people can be elected over. Ridiculous….
-
Great point. As the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band sang “No Matter Who You Vote For The Government Always Gets in”. That could be the campaign slogan for PR. The same suspects would be walking into Westminster next week, Truss, Mordaunt, Shapps, JRM, Steve Baker. Ed Balls and Cleggy would probably still be heavily involved in deciding our laws. Nigel Farage would have been in Parliament for years by now. Soggy bangs on about Government for the people by the people, but there’s no purer form than FPTP. PR is government for the people by technocrats & party apparatchiks.

There’s a cigarette paper between Hunt & Reeves. Lord Call me Daves foreign policy will be mirrored by Lammy. Taxes will be roughly the same. Legal immigration will be similar, the NHS model won’t change. They are 2 checks of the same arse, with a bit of difference around social policy. They could all be in the same Blair led party. The only difference will be competence, if this lot are as incompetent, they’ll get binned regardless of whether The Tories “lurch to the left”. Judge Government by what it does, not what it says it’ll do. When you look at their “lurch to the right” on migrants, it was only the language that lurched that way, the policy was exactly the same as Starmers will be. They’ll pick the boats up, house them here and not send them anywhere. In other words exactly the same. The Tories pretended they would send them to Rwanda & Labour will pretend they’ll send them to their country of origin. They won’t “smash the gangs” anymore than the Tories. It’s all propaganda pony. I’ve been hearing this “lurch to the right” pony for years, when’s it going to happen, because I’m looking forward to it.
