  1. Behave . How many times have we finished top 8 in 100 years? Minimum !!!!I'd say top 8 is the top end of our ambitions. If you think it should be a minimum, you're going to end up very disappointed the next few years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The issue with Gaston wasn't people jumping to conclusions or not giving him a chance, but people unable to see that he clearly wasn't good enough. Banging on and on about the "Villa match", going on that he "clearly has talent " . We're in the same territory now with people defending the indefensible. He has been absolutely woeful lately. Personally I'm not sure he has the mentality or strength to play in England, certainly nothing I've seen suggests he has. Hopefully he will come good , but if he's still shocking in 18 months time I hope the people will admit it rather than cling onto to never been glories as the Gastonettes did Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Can we merge this thread with the Gaston one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Two woeful performances against Midtjlland must have been in my dreams. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thank god you're not in charge of recruiting, he's shocking. Even worse than Forster Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Koeman was a perfect fit at the time. We'd lost a lot of players and our credibility was on the line. Koeman was a big name and he was also pretty pragmatic about losing top players because he wasn't in as strong a position as he is now. There's no way he was considered a top manager and the jury was out on his managerial career. However, that doesn't mean he would have been a good fit now. As a club we need to develop youngsters and , as corny as it sounds, have a "pathway" to the first team. In that respect Puel is perfect for us. Add in the fact that Koeman clearly wanted out, I believe that Puel has had a better season than Koeman would have done. If I was an Everton supporter I'd want Koeman, but I'm not. In the right here, right now Puel is a better fit for our club. And as for players like Tadic JRod & Long throwing their toys out of the pram, they can **** off as far as I'm concerned. It's not Puels fault JRod & Long don't appear to know where the goal is, or his fault that Tadic plays well 40% of the time, whilst spending the rest mincing about. JWP, McQueen, Stephens, Sims are the future of the club and they've improved a lot under Claude. Certainly better than they would of under Koeman Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'd be happy with a top half finish & a decent cup run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Paddy Ashdown still thinks not joining the euro was a mistake. He was on Sunday politics 3 weeks ago saying exactly that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. So was Watford, Palace , Boscombe & West Brom away. Home games against Liverpool in the cup, home to Everton (yes Everton when they were so shiete pre the genius Ron), Home to Stoke & Villa . I've no doubt the same plums calling for Puels head were doing the same to Koeman then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So before he'd played a game for saints you'd have had Redmond in a combined Everton/Saints 11. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. He's been handed a hospital pass from the board. A top ten finish & a cup final without VvD for half a season, Mane, Pelle, Fonte & big vic is every bit as good as 6th & humiliation in the very same cup was with them. Of course we've got ****ing idiot supporters who think it's like Football Manager, typified by the morons who booed protecting the striker from further injury, and seem to think we've a god given right to get better & better each season. From the cards he's been dealt he's played a pretty decent hand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Perhaps Mane had something to do with that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If Everton had Long up front the majority of the season & us lukaku we'd be above them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. It's got **** all to do with a vote taken at the end of June. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. That's been the case for the past decade, **** all to do with staying in or leaving the EU Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. **** me, if that's the biggest load of bull sh1t you've ever read, you can't have read many football articles. I actually think it's a pretty sensible piece. Klopp is looking to sign him, but faces a battle with City & Chelsea, but Madrid are also "monitoring " him. Koeman wants him, but knows he faces an uphill battle. I can't for the life of me see what's working you up , it's a pretty sensible take on it. The only dodgy bit for me is the Sakho stuff. But IF we are interested in him, then that surely does strengthen Klopps hand. I'm not saying they're ITK and it looks like a lot of stories cobbled together, but as far as gossip goes it's a pretty decent article. I bet Madrid monitor dozens of players, in fact it would be pretty bizarre if they didn't look at VvD. Equally, it would be strange if 3 or 4 top clubs didn't want him. If an article like that winds you up, you're going to have a coronary by the end of the summer window. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. 27 men in court this week in Huddersfield. Charged with horrific sexual crimes against children. I bet the names of the accused don't surprise anyone. Not too many Bob Smith's or Pete Brown's. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39580591 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. FFS, you're in a different universe if you think the club can do anything about it. They haven't sold players "hand over fist" because they want to, but because they've been forced to. The offer is the end of the line. Gone are the days when offers are made speculatively. The player has agreed terms & wants to join before any offer is made. We won't turn down a record offer because we're greedy bar stewards, but because once we've received an offer, he clearly wants out. I hate the way people try & twist this basic reality to moan about the club. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. You're living in a different universe, constantly blaming the club. We're not selling players " hand over fist" because we want to, we have no choice. Players want to leave. The last thing agreed is the fee. Gone are the days when clubs did deals & then told the player "we've sold you" . The only offers we'll receive are from clubs that have already agreed terms with him. Once we receive offers, he wants to go, end of, the club making the offer wouldn't make it otherwise. Les then had 2 choices, keep an unhappy player or get the most money possible. You're right, we won't turn down a record bid, not because we're greedy bar stewards, but because receiving the offer means he wants out . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Nurse!!!!!!!! Cech Ozil Sanchez Walcott Oxlade Chamberlain Koscielny Cazorla Would walk into our side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I think a few are getting a bit carried away tonight. Even if Wenger stays & both Ozil & Sanchez go, I'd be amazed if we finish above them, it's not going to happen. As for finishing above Liverpool, that's laughable if you ask me. We've done ****ing amazing the last 3/4 years, amazing for us that is. Arsenal have still got players that would walk into our side & money to spend we can only dream of. They have strength in depth we can not match. The interesting one will be Everton in the Europa League, will their league form suffer. Maybe we can then judge this season once we've seen Koemans effort next. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. What do you think of Ted Bates. John Sillett, Bobby Gould & Alex Mcleish won more than him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Shamus Coleman is out for a year. You have to question Everton's medical department ,because Spurs got Kane back after 3 weeks . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. The women of Yorkshire had more chance of falling down the stairs than of being raped & murdered by Peter Sutcliffe. I can't understand why they were so scared to go out at night, as staying in was much more dangerous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. His whole managerial career is mapped out in terms of wanting to manage Barca. Everton was a no brainer, they have a far far better squad than Martinez's league position suggested and were serial under achievers. The media are now creaming themselves about what a "good job he's done" , but the reality is any half decent manager would have Everton in 7th. He was on a hiding to nothing if he'd stayed with us. If he has a decent Europa run, finishes 7th again next season, then an Arsenal or European champions league club will come knocking. From there Barca's a lot nearer than 8/9th with little old Southampton. I'm sure the money helped as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
