Nonsense . It was everything to do with the players . They wanted it more than us . Both wing backs were poor , big vic is going through the motions , Long missed a sitter & Mane played for himself . None of that had anything to do with system and all to do with lack of desire or talent . I thought that particular system suits the players we had today . Had we played another system , we'd still have got beat . If you don't tackle , track runners or finish chances it doesn't make a blind bit of difference which formation you play . Players need to take a good hard look at themselves .

It's more a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-3-3 surely . The issue for me is the lack of movement and switching around of positions as and when the play dictates . Under Poch Rickie would find himself out where Lallana plays or JRod would pop up down the middle . Tadic just stands out wide left or wide right like an old fashioned winger . Pelle ( apart from early on yesterday ) plays in straight lines and never works the channels , he never pulls off onto the full backs , like Rickie used to . I don't know if it's a macho thing but he seems to just want to stand up and battle the centre halves all day long . When , like The Liverpool pair he's getting nothing out of them , why not pull off onto the young nipper at full back . Stek's pretty accurate with his kicking and I'm sure the full back won't relish a battle with that big lump anymore than Lovren would relish Mane chasing pelles flick on . If you're a big ugly centre half we must be a dream to play against , as you can just stand in the middle of the back 4 and battle with Pelle . When do we ever shift centre halves into areas they're uncomfortable in?

He's a right footed Andrew Surman , may have a premiership career at a yoyo club , but no way he'll ever deliver on the hype . If he plays for England , then we really will be pony . Has not progressed anywhere near enough to justify any hope he'll be the next big thing. I like 3 at the back particularly with VvD able to bring the ball out and the full backs we have . Just not sure it's the right thing against Palace especially if Tadic plays . I haven't a clue how palace play , but with only 4 in midfield surely they'll be able to overload on Vic & RO and pull Cedric & Ryan in a touch . If their wingers get a run at Yoshida & Fonte as our wide centre halves , god help us . If Davis or even Classie play in a central 3 then it maybe better . Personally I'd go for a 4-5-1 doubling up on their wingers , but leaving a 3 in centre midfield . The only problem is you'll have to drop Pelle and play someone with a bit more movement as the lone striker . Long , or maybe Mane .

God , I hope I'm not turning into some sort of leftie or even a pinko , but I find myself in agreement with George Galloway again. He said yesterday that Corbyn needs to confront his shadow cabinet & plp sometime and there won't be a better subject to make a stance over than bombing Syria . It was very easy for the pro interventionists to vote against (Cameron hasn't " made the case", the UN resolution is too wooly, there's no post conflict plan ) and in normal political times they would . However, they will continue to rebel on issue after issue to make Jezzas leadership untenable . With this issue he has more public support than most others , even people like Peter Hitchens are against it, but also an issue that people who are opposed to Corbyns stance will still credit him with sticking to his convictions and being authentic. Its quite hard to equate voting against this motion with being a leftie loon opposed to British values . Because Corbyn has bottled this one and given the shadow cabinet a free vote ,George mantains when he does grasp the nettle and face them down, it'll be on an issue ( most likely Trident ) that the voters will be in a massive majority against him and also it'll be an issue where he can be portrayed as unpatriotic or extreme and the plp as the reasonable ones. He should have forced resignations over this because they will come one day and that day will be more damaging to his leadership.

There can be only one winner of the award of worst manager , Ian Branfoot. Look at the way we played before him & then after him, with similar resources . He had Alan Shearer one season and was still shiete . Jimmy Case , Matt Le Tiss , the bloke was ****ing clueless. Second worst Redknapp , that team should never have gone down. WBA were shocking & Robson a crap manager, yet they stayed up. Chucking away 2 or 3 winning positions and then the bottling of the skate game particular low points. Third , Wotte. Was involved with Jan P from day one . Whereas Jan seemed a genuinely decent guy , Wotte was a arrogant chump . One bloke I never really took to was Dave Jones but his record keeps him out of my bottom 3 .

Its a tough one because Ron worked wonders after the summer we had . However, some of the football we played under Pochettino was the best since Chris Nicholl . Some of the movement going forward was sublime, Fulham away & Hull at home stick in my mind. I don't really care about stats and debuts and who blooded who. My opinion is that Poch trusted young players more than Ron does. Would Poch have played Toby in centre mid or given Harry R a go ?
