  1. Shows how good the Portuguese pens were the other night . If you're going to give it the big one before taking it , you've got to score . He made himself look a right plum
  2. You don't think we should be winning things ,and be competing with Italy , Germany , the past 50 years ? There's a fundamental difference between Chelsea & Saints, there shouldn't be between England & Italy . We have the most money , the richest league and club sides have won countless European cups . You're making out we're some sort of under dog , it's nonsense. We're as big a football nation as anyone, we're just shiete at it.
  3. I've never understand why Venables & Robson are revered as England managers . '90 was nothing special , poor in group , Belgium beaten in last minute and the Cameroon , Cameroon FFS . '96 , forget about Sweatys and Holland ( I think Holland qualified anyway ) We were home against a poor bunch , we should have won that. We're a joke , Robson and Venables failed as much as Sven , but the media and ex players love them. Because we we played well in semis it seems to make them great campaigns , the truth is we were **** poor before that stage and played well, but lost , in the semis . Germany & Italy would look back on both as failure
  4. England have been wetting their pants over 2 semi final appearances the past 40 years . We even wet our knickers over '96 when we were at home and there were some pretty poor sides involved . Wales have matched that with premiership reserves and championship players , puts it all in perspective
  5. He is not what we need at this point in time , but he certainly is good enough for us .
  6. Glad to see Saunders on motd give some credit to John Toshack & Brian Flynn . Not taking anything away from Coleman and the present bunch , but the FAW had a plan , Toshack & Flynn were instrumental in starting it. In comparison our FA have been all over the place for years
  7. Good for Jose & Cedric
  8. It's even more pathetic if you go back 50 years . Belgium & Cameroon in '90 , there was 1 in '86 but cant remember who , Spain '96 but that was on pens . Off the top of my head I can't remember any more
  9. Contrast Ramsay's performance with Rooney
  10. It'll be Leadsom v May IMO , I guess it just depends if the membership are willing to go for a leaver . Keeping her head down during the referendum may get May over the line , but make no mistake that was a political calculation that she made . Hopefully the blue rinse brigade will see through it and pluck for Angela
  11. Heard Galloway saying that Jezza won't jack before Chilcot as has promised his supporters that he'll apologise on behalf of the Labour party and will call Blair a war criminal . Galloway reckons that's the reason for the plot , Blairites trying to silence him prior to that. I don't believe that is the reason as lefties see Blairites everywhere, but can belive Jezza wants to hang on til then and his reasoning behind it
  12. Never let one in that he should have saved , but never really saved one you thought was definitely in . Pretty decent number 2, very professional and better than Kelv or Gazza . People can take the **** as much as they like but if we end up with a number 2 that's his level I'd be happy
  13. I could just about stomach her if she sacked Gideon . Talk of him becoming foreign sec would be a real ****ing joke. Remain lost this and to have two of the losers in prime positions would be a joke . I see she's also got that mad cow Anna Sloshbury in her camp. Sack both of them, make Leadsom Chancellor , Gove foreign sec , David David home sec and theyd get my vote back. Would be great if the Tories had another female pm whilst the " progressive" Labour and lib/dumbs stil haven't had one even lead their parties.
  14. Who said he had no designs on the leadership , i just said he didn't back leave because of it .
  15. Shame more voted leave . Happy anniversary , a week since Independence Day
  16. Of course if d'Ancona says it it must be true . Blokes spot on about everything isn't he , oh apart from the referendum . The worlds a bit more complicated than guardian opinion columns pal .
  17. Leadsom for me . Gove is head and shoulders above all of them imo , but carries too much baggage .
  18. So Boris who according to the leave experts was only backing Brexit because he wants to be PM , is not standing . Another thing they got wrong
  19. God I don't know how many times people need telling . There is no single market in services.
  20. I'd be wary of buying players after a good tournament, as time and time again players flop after looking great for their country and sealing a dream move. I'd apply the same caution here . I hope the club stick to any decision they made prior to this , rather than base it on his form during the euros . His great form could result in a few more quid for us or could result in a few more quid bring added to his salary, but base any extension on the past 12 months, not the past 3 weeks. Remember our decent form occurred when he was out, and he was dire during our horrendous run
  21. Eagle voted for the Iraq war. Bearing in mind chilcot comes out next week I'd have thought they might have found a better stalking horse. Maybe someone not in parliament at the time or someone who voted against it.
  22. Canada has access to the single market, is there free movement of Canadians into the Eu ?
  23. Labour won't if it's in disarray, the Tories won't if they're not. There aren't many times in a political cycle when both parties want an election at the same time.
  24. It's nothing to do with established way of working , its the law of the land . The fixed term parliament act means that the only way to dissolve parliament is if 2/3rds of mps vote to do so.
