  1. Thankfully I think you're right, as on the right bird it's a great look. But on the wrong one it's horrendous . After my 5 a side game each week there's an arobics class of about 30 birds , about 10 of them are fit as **** and you get a good perve at them , but the others range from ok to Jo Brand territory . The problem in this age of political correctness is you're not allowed to tell the 6 pinters to cover up and wear something more appropriate , like a burka .
  2. Graham Poll said before it was rescinded that it would be overturned 100% and that there was no doubt as the rules stood the ref got it wrong . It was not a clear denial of a goal scoring opportunity because Mane didn't have full control of the ball, and was moving away from the goal . Whether people feel that the rules should mean a sending off in those circumstances , is open to debate . But that's a debate about changing the interpretation of what constitutes denial of a goal scoring opportunity. Weds game was played under the existing interpretation and the ref made a clear and obvious error. Look at the RB one or the Bentake one against Spurs , both quite harsh . But they were never going to be overturned as they weren't clear errors of fact , they were subjective decisions . In trying to get consistency from game to game they are trying to make denial of a goal scoring opportunity less subjective , less about does the ref think he'll score and more about is X Y & Z happening . Mane proberly would have scored, but would Yoshida or JWP from the exact same situation. Once you start breaking from the guidelines and allow refs to decide if they think somebody will score , they'll be even more confusion .
  3. Exactly, and that's why it was overturned. To overturn a red card the referee has to have made a " clear and obvious error" . There is no grey area in overturning a red card , no " I've seen them given" type decisions . It will only be overturned if it was " clear and obvious " that the referee interrupted the rules wrongly . Yet people are still on here arguing about it FFS.
  4. If he scores and celebrates I hope we're not going to have a thread on here moaning about it . Personally , I'd have more respect for the guy if he does an Adebayor rather than not celebrate . Like it or not , the skate abuse of Twitchy back in '05 was pretty decent , if we can replicate something similar it'll go a long way towards putting him off his game . I maybe wrong , but he doesn't strike me as the type who will use abuse to motivate himself and drive him on
  5. Why are people still arguing over this . A neutral independent body ( as in not saints or west ham supporters) using video evidence overturned it. There is no grey area , red cards can only be overturned if the referee has made a clear and obvious error. Therefore as the rules stand , it was clearly not a red card however much people try and claim it was .
  6. Nonsense . "Damaging the game" , talk about seeing things through red and white glasses. The FA don't even appoint referees , so you're way off the mark there . Graham Poll was on the radio the other day talking about the decision . His view , as a neutral and as a professional referee was that . It could have easily been given a foul by Mane on the keeper in the first place ,and Mane didn't have full control of the ball and wasn't facing the goal when the keeper handled . Therefore there was enough doubt that stopped it being a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity . Poll did say the decision not to sent Cole off was "shocking " which proves he's not just sticking up for refs regardless .
  7. I don't think it was as bad as some have made out . Yes it was frustrating and was really 2 points dropped but I didn't think we played that badly . Pelle clearly needs a goal .As well as yoshida did , we missed the attacking full back from that side , particularly when they were down to 10 . I thought they defended well not a pretty display but you can't knock them for the way they played , it's up to us to break them down . Harry Reed excellent , got the makings of a proper player . One thing about Reed I don't like is that stupid " one of our own " song . It's clearly a spurs song ,you know the spurs whose supporters we sing " we're Southampton , we sing our own songs " to when they start up with OWTS. As for that plum who ran onto the pitch . I hope he gets a life ban and one of the stewards banjo'd him . What a ****ing idiot .
  8. You can not transfer votes cast under one system and come up with a result under another . Everybody went into the polling booth knowing it was FPTP and their votes were cast on that basis . Are you seriously trying to claim that nobody voted tactically . The lib/dumbs did ok in my area and labour bombed . This was purely and simply because the lib/dumbs hovered up the anti Tory vote. Replicate that all over the country , both anti Tory and anti labour and their vote is higher than their actual support . Just to equate their share of the vote in a FPTP election , to seats in a pr system is way too simplistic . The lib dems don't really want PR , they know that they can fight Tories on the right and labour on the left at present . Their USP was they weren't labour and they weren't Tory . If they really believed in it , surely they'd have made a referendum on it a red line in the coalition talks . Why fanny around with AV, that's not a proportional system . At least the big two parties are honest about it, the libs just bang on about PR , it's a smokescreen And has been nonsense since the Gang of Four joined the sandal wearers . Now it's all about naked power, not principles The thing I'm looking forward to in 2015 is the party of Cyril Smith, of Jeremy Thorpe , of Paddy Pantsdown and David laws , Cleggy and jailbird huhme getting their smug progressive noses rubbed in it by the great British public.
  9. Since our result against Swansea , arsenal have dropped 3 points , spurs have dropped 3 points , man utd have dropped 2 points and Liverpool have dropped 2 points . When you are talking about the top of the table , for a 2 game sequence you can't ask for much more than that .
  10. If Owen Jones has the answers god help us. Notice how he mixes the immigration issue like they all do . " Indian nurses" . We have control over how many Indian nurses come in, the immigration issue is that we don't have control over how many Poles do. How do you purpose we deal with the perfectly legal practise of tax avoidance. Tony Benn & Ralph Miliband both arranged their affairs to cut down on inheritance tax for their dependants by perfectly legal means. What are we going going to have a grand committee of the great and good that sit in judgement of which people can and can't limit their liabilities. Instead of shouting sound bites , lefties should tell us which laws they will change, which EU treaties they will amend , and which taxes it will become illegal to avoid, and then put it to the people. Just shouting about perfectly legal practise is playing to the gallery.
  11. The euro elections are fought on a PR basis , remind me how they got on in that. What are their poll ratings ? The only thing that keeps them in business is the FPTP system .
  12. I bet all the lefties calling for PR soon change their tune when they realise it'll give UKIP 20% of English MP's. I've never really understood why the lib/dumbs call for PR, as I believe a large portion of their votes are against other parties rather than for them. My mate is a staunch leftie, but votes lib/dumb because it may keep the tories out. He wouldn't need to under PR costing Clegg a vote, multiply that all over the country and they end up with a handful of MP's. I keep hearing the problem with Westminster is MP's are " out of touch" . How is breaking the link between the MP , your vote for him and individual constituencies going to help that. The party lists will be stuffed full of yes men , and the election will be dominated by a presidential type personality competition between a handful of top party figures. Who is your MP to complain to, who is the guy representing your community ? The answer to too much centralisation is not to give even more power to the party leadership. It is for backbenchers to hold the Executive to account ( something Bercows done quite well with helping ) , local MPs to reflect local opinion and people to vote for the best candidate . I'd vote Labour if the local candidate was the calibre of Frank Field, Kate Hoey or Simon Danczuk . Not to keep anyone out but because I believe they would best represent me in parliament. If people are worried about " fairness" then our electrol system is way down the list. Let's start with our unelected head of state, let's treat England equally and let's stop the establishment stuffing the second chamber with unelected cronies.
  13. I always remember them as Scummers, didn't hear Skate until around the 90's . I'm sure there was a game at white hart lane where one of theirs , I think it was Anderton, was abused with "Scummer, scummer" every time he touched the ball and a ridiculous reporter writing that we were shouting " sieg heil" , with it being at spurs , quite a nasty accusation . Is my memory playing tricks with me or did this really happen , the article I mean as I know the abuse did .
  14. These were the people that voted for a mascot dressed as a monkey so he's got half a chance. Mind you, after watching Bennett and looking at their policies I'd rather have H'Angus in charge than the greens and I'm sure the taxpayers of Brighton will agree.
  15. What a load of pony. Men can't do " whatever the hell they want" so why should chicks. If I went into the ladies and had a tug I'd get arrested , I doubt you would have much sympathy for me . I'm all for dirty birds, but stop trying to pretend this old slapper is some sort of Emily Pankhurst type figure.
  16. The couple next to me left before the end and missed the goal , even more mind boggling .
  17. Had they let this west ham chump in with his mutt , I'd have started bringing mine . At the end of his weekend "walks "he often gets me home safely. If he could get into SMS it would be a great back up if I miscalculated the noggins , he'd be able to guide me to my seat
  18. You're right it was a compete set up. I only watched to see how Suzanne Evans got on against Galloway , as she's impressed me with her media appearances . To go head to head with George would have given some idea of her leadership potential . Unfortunately she was ill and replaced , but I still watched. It is quite disgraceful the way a serious programme is dumbing down and trying to create controversy . It was deliberately provocative to put Galloway in that environment and then fill the audience with Jewish people . I've never seen so many skull caps in a qt audience . I'm not saying Jews shouldn't have been there , I don't really care about anyone's religion , but the BBC lit a firework and sat back to deliberately create a Jeremy Kyle does politics type show
  19. Tristan Hunt has just had an absolute Danny Fox on question time tonight . Shocking performance
  20. Was pretty obvious all along , you could tell by the tone of the early reporting . If it was a road accident , why the big deal on his depression and other suicide attempts which featured a lot. I guess the family asked for it to be kept quiet until he was better. Although I hope he's not sold the story to the gutter press, after asking the rest of the press to hush it up.
  21. Balls, Poole to London then onto new street is about an hour longer, so doesnt look like there's much in it. Let's hope they get it sorted in time.
  22. How much longer does the replacement bus service add to the journey? I'm trying to work out whether its worth going into London then getting the virgin train from Euston
  23. Hard to judge . The supporters will obviously be up for it, but Ron will surely be able to be better than Les tactically . Twitch didnt seem to have lost the dressing room and they didn't seem to lack effort, which sometimes accounts for an upturn when someone goes. My worry is someone like Taarabt who Redknapp has frozen out , gets chucked in and has a worldy game. Bit like Adebayor for Sherwood last season.
  24. Whether he got the ball or not is irrelevant in the modern game. You can get the ball and its a foul if the ref thinks you used excessive force or were reckless.
  25. Bit harsh to blame the back room staff and contrast to last season. Doubt if victor would have played in cup had Poch been manager this year . MS and TA went to the world cup, so that may have affected things. You can only look at long term trends, way too early to judge.
