The Greeks should have devalued their currency and that would have kick started their economy. They couldn't do so because it wouldnt be good for the German and other economies.EXACTLY what people like Bill Cash and John Redwood said would happen, has happened. You can not have monetary union without fiscal union , and don't give me any pony about Gordon Brown. Brown was for us joining when the time was right, he was not against the union in principle, he was for it for Greece, for Cyprus , for Spain, even for the UK, just not at that particular time. As Mark Littlewood head of the IEA ( and a saints fan BTW) said today, " you can vote for parties that don't believe in gravity, but that won't stop you getting hit on the head" . like Hollande these lefties will have to face reality and conform to the EU/German straight jacket, they will still have EU imposed austerity. They may get a loosening of the terms of their bail out, but will not be allowed to default or leave the Euro. The worst thing that can happen to the politburo in Brussels is the Greeks leaving the Euro and starting a recovery, because the rest of the club med will follow. They won't be allowed to default whilst in the EUSSR because it'll mean the Germans paying more for their borrowing. Who ever thought Germany and Greece could form a currency union was bonkers. Yet the same loons who did will be the same ones frightening us to stay in this political union. Remember that next time you hear Mandleson, Clarke, Blair or Clegg lecturing us on membership.

Lucas has tried to mount a salvage operation. Claimed that the £72 is under review because they've realised it impacts the poor and makes them worse off than now. On Westminster hour R4 she said they're still committed to £72 for every man, women and CHILD ( dear god) in the country , but may have to bung the poor a bit more. Its not about a simplified tax system , Bennett herself said its about allowing people to do less full time work and not live in " fear" . Although this Home Defence Force frightens me more than me, Mrs duck and our brats picking up £288 a week from the state, especially if I have an Al Qaeda social club in the neighbourhood.

Has Awful gone yet? I've texted a couple of their " owners" but they were not too willing to let on. Perhaps there's a board meeting at the moment, because both "owners" texted back basically telling me to **** off.

The colonel messed elvis up, stupid films and pathetic songs once he left the army , until elvis himself took control of his own musical direction around '68. The period from the comeback until the LV washout he was fantastic . A couple of great albums in Memphis , with great musicians . Suspicious minds and in the ghetto are the famous ones from those albums , but the other stuff is really outstanding . Any day now, true love travels on a gravel road, long black limo , to name a few. Now the albums are all repackaged and given new names , but you can still pick up the songs in iTunes . Great mixture , bit bluesy, hillbilly, country, rock and roll, anybody who hears these will be convinced he's a great great singer. 80% of his stuff was dross , but the 20% , man nobody could touch him .

In another political development tonight George Galloway has just said Call Me Dave's latest MEP was chucked out of Respect for dodgy dealings. He's gone from a Tory, to Respect, to UKIP and now back to Tories, wow that's some journey . I couldn't help but think the way Andrew Neil quizzed Grant ****s today , something's going to bite them in the rear over this . He kept on about vetting and about being sure you want his type as an mep. Further quote from Galloway adds fuel to this fire. " I have the documentation including photographs which prove Tory MEP Amjad to be a despicable liar. Cameron will rue this day ". All very intriguing

Crete's pretty cheap and when we were there the locals said that Malia was basically an 18-30's town. Alberfura is cheap, but I loved it there so maybe it's not very trendy. There were plenty of scantily clad chicks wandering around and started to get lively as I turned in about 1am

Greens getting a lot of clog on social media after that performance . someone described it as a "bicycle crash of an interview", which made me lol.
-
Call me Dave's not going to be happy with Andrew Neil tonight. He needs the Greens to split the leftie vote, but watching Sunday politics they're bonkers. Bennett told Neil , they'll abolish the army and replace it with a " home defence force " ( don't panic Mr manwarring ) , will make it legal to be a member of IS or the Real IRA. Leave nato and impose import tarrifs even on eu countries. They're also going to give everyone £72 a week whether they need it or not. Neil worked out this would cost £280 billion , how will they pay for it? By abolishing JSA and child benefit. When it was pointed out that would leave them £272 million short, rest assured she will spell out the rest in her manifesto. It will also abolish tax free allowances, as Andrew pointed out thats worth 10k a year and their citizens wage of £72 is 3k a year. Even the bankers and millionaires get the £72. Nice... It really was bonkers, anyone thinking of voting for these clowns should watch it. Car crash interview.

So who do you suggest will come and sit on the bench is case Pelle gets injured. Someone we only have to pay till June , and don't need to pay a fee for?
-
the Danny Ings thread ----yet again
Lord Duckhunter replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Even if Burnley would sell, what's his agents advice likely to be? If he waits till end of season, as a free his signing on fee will be higher and I would have thought his wages will also reflect this. Therefore not only will we need to overpay a transfer fee, we'll probably have to overpay the player as well. Great way to do business. -
At the risk of showing my Dell sized mentality, I've always liked Hugo Rodallega . looks like he's out of contract in the summer . Maybe fulham want to get him off the wage bill, so might loan him out for the rest of the season. He's played regularly in the top flight and although not the best around , could do a job as a back up if he's chasing a deal.

They can always cheer me up after a defeat .

But it's not a large amount of the population . Most people don't give a shiny . Millions buy The Sun A very small vocal minority tell us what we should and shouldn't look at. What happened to live and let live. The chicks are happy to pop them out , the blokes (and birds) that buy it are happy, as it's on page 3 you can't see it without actually looking for it. I really don't see what the issue is.
-
Plus Burnley aren't going to let him go . There's no point, the money won't be worth losing him for the rest of the season .The time clubs will reluctently sell is 18 months out , not 6. I doubt his agent will advise a move either , out of contract means extra dosh for the player.
-
We don't want to spunk a load of money getting in someone whose not quite good enough and we're stuck with a 3 year contract. This is where the "Southampton way " bods earn their money . If our scouting set up is a good as we're told, they must have targets lined up for the summer, maybe we'll have to pay a premium to get one in early. If not they must have some loan options up their sleeve . It's clearly a awkward situation and we are not in a particularly good negotiating postion , but we need to sort something out.
-
Does anyone seriously believe he'd still have been here if it wasn't for his injury? He'd have been out the door as quick as the skipper if you ask me. I'm not saying that i don't feel sorry for the guy, I wouldn't wish a career threatening injury on anyone . But I can't help feeling that once and if we nurse him back to full fitness he'll be offski. If that's the case where will he sit in the hero/villain swingometer .

Nail on head. It's more about the hatred of Murdoch rather than any moral issue .
-
So let's get this right , on a thread where you've been banging on and on and on and on about not treating women by their looks, you have a dig at someone's looks.
-
Agreed, let's hope Nigel doesnt follow the establishment and jerrymander a crony into the lords.
-
Lol at Esther Mcvey on QT. She's totally against the objectification of women , it really " offends " her. In case you don't know who she is, here's a picture.
-
What a surprise, first question on QT , page 3. Nuttall hitting the nail on the head, as a scouser he chooses not to buy sun, you can do the same. Common sense solution.
-
He doesn't need to, he can influence legislation without being accountable to the electorate .
-
This was the point I was trying to make to Tim. It is not only impractical but would lead to a ban from all Fifa competitions. Fifa expressly forbids government interference in its association.

£200 every time you see the doc is as nutty as banning the unemployed from driving IMO. But that wasn't my point, as well you know. Does somebodies random opinion equate to party policy? If you think this ukip nutters driving policy equates and reflects ukip policy, then charging £200 for doc visit equates and reflects labour policy. Personally I think lord Winston wanting to charge £200 to see doc is not labour policy and is misguided, and I think the same, about this'd ukip clown, but I wasn't the one posting one blokes opinion and claiming it reflected policy.
