  1. I would. And I reckon with a bit of modification the old selfie stick could take some interesting photos in a dark crowded night club.
  2. We've had months and months of jocks running down the English NHS and what happens to the first sweaty with Ebola? They're carted of to an English hospital.
  3. I don't know why people get their knickers in a twist over diving . It's a form of cheating , but footballers cheat . Always have done , always will do . Ok , so in the good old days chopper Harris or Tommy Smith didn't dive , their particular form of cheating involved kicking people into row Z. I've never understood why diving in the middle of the pitch is a no no , yet appealing for a corner when you know full well you've touched it last , is ok. Players con the ref over hundreds of incidents every week. Personally , if some dumb ass defenders going to dangle a leg in the box and a forward makes the most of it, it's his own fault . Every team does it, it is now part of te game whether you like it or not. The only dives that you can police are the ones where there is no contact at all. Wherever there is contact it will become subjective as to whether the player could have stayed on his feet or whether the forward moved caused the contact first. Good luck with proving that one way or the other . Defenders go down easily to win free kicks, even when there's minimal contact , and there hasn't been a keeper since about 1989 that doesn't make a meal of a high challenge he losses . Is that the same as diving, course it is . Instead of apologising to Jose , the ref should have said " every game 22 players try to cheat me, if they stopped doing that I'd have got that one right. So **** off until you sort your own glass house out".
  4. I thought the atmosphere was great , real emotion at the blocks and clearances at the end. Maybe it was a bit too tense for songs but it was real raw proper football support. They were pretty quiet which surprised me as I thought they were great last year . The only thing that got to me was people leaving before the end. How the **** can anyone call themselves a supporter and then leave . I sit near the exit and there must have been 50-70 people leave before the injury time. I know people pay their money and can do what they want and they all have to avoid traffic / catch trains blah blah blah . But come on, even a neutral who loves the game would have stayed in their seats to see the end of that . It was finger nail, edge of the seat stuff , yet some if our " supporters " rushed off. That is truly pathetic in my opinion .
  5. He'd have regretted it the rest of his life had he turned them down . I doubt Ron would have played him more than Pelle . So I doubt he would have particularly enjoyed it here this season . He should always be welcomed back , just not as a player . It's gone , over , the club have moved on . I'm just glad we got a few quid for him , because if he'd stayed here we'd have ended up with a high wage , diminishing return player.
  6. As the great Alex ferguson said "working hard is a talent". The performance he gave against Everton was one if the hardest working ones I've seen in 40 odd years of watching . He unsettled a pretty decent back 4 and was a major part of a great team performance . He was left out today, and here's the thing, I bet he didn't sulk or complain , just got on with it . I don't quite understand what sort of squad players you think we could attract to our club. I bet the players and staff appreciate the job he does.
  7. This is a great clip of a great song. Also features Bobby Keys who died a couple of weeks ago. The Xfactor generation don't know what they're missing.
  8. Anything that keeps blokes watching and away from the loos gets my vote . That way I don't have to spend 10 mins queuing for a whizz.
  9. His mad dogs and Englishman tour was what rock and roll is all about. For those who haven't seen the film it is well worth looking it up or some clips on u tube. 40 odd musicians put together by Leon Russell to show case joe , plus assorted hanger ons and a dog . Absolutely fantastic film and album , with some great versions of classic songs , honky tonk women, something , darling be home soon, the letter , delta lady and of course a little help from my friends . The album is always on the iPhone and blasted out regularly . I read the other day that He was Unwell but didn't realise how seriously RIP
  10. So we've had Nigel,Poch, and now Steve Bruce all " failing to get the best out of him" . I presume Ron is happy to loan him out, so clearly doesn't rate him. How many more managers are going to bin him before people realise the bleeding obvious, he's not very good, was a waste of money and is over-rated?
  11. Hull fan on talk sport tonight , complaining about certain players just going through the motions and not trying . When asked to name names he said Gaston Is the worst
  12. Anyone who doesn't give Shane long motm is a serious **** wit. First half the man gave a masterclass in doing the absolute best you can . Toby was different class and well done to Harrison Reed. I realised today what a fantastic manager Ron is, he changed the shape and got a great result . Great Xmas present
  13. This just about sums him up
  14. Following n from the above, Stephen Stills can still nail it at nearly 70.
  15. Talking of Woodstock, this is a fantastic track with great guitar. The riff at the start is one of the best IMO.
  16. Their injury record is worse than ours.
  17. Pelle has to play even if it means missing Palace. We'll have victor and Morgan back for that one and maybe Tadic. Part of playing in English football is playing with knocks and when you're tired. Lambert didn't miss too many and provided playing is not going to put him out for weeks Pelle needs to play through whatever knock he's got.
  18. It is possible to get at their back four , but I'm not sure we have the players to do so. The full backs push high up the pitch and leave space in the channel . You'll get a lot of joy if you can move the centre halfs into wide positions, Barry is the cover , but he's not really quick enough. The problem we have is Pelle doesnt work the channels and run in behind, so Jags and The Skate will love playing up against him. Long has the movement, but Pelle is a better player. If we play the pace of long or Mane wide, they'll end up chasing their full backs back towards their own goal. Tadic isn't quick enough and because of that Barry will be able to get into defensive positions and cover. I have the awful feeling that we'll play right into their hands , Barry getting around Pelle , so he can't bring it down and the centre halfs winning stuff in the air. We won't be able to break quickly enough to use the space behind the full back and our wide men will spend most of the time in our own half . If we go 4-4-2 we could use long to shift the centre halfs wide, but Coleman and Baines will get 2 on 1's as our wide men will have to tuck in otherwise their 3 in centre mid will pass us to death. I really think they're the worst team we could be facing with all these players missing as we need to have the control of the ball that Morgan and Victor give us. We'll fall between 2 stools , unable to control possession but equally unable to hit them on the break. Unless somebody does something special or they make a mistake. I can't see us scoring. I hope I'm wrong ,but this could be a frustrating afternoon. At the risk of sound like Dinosaur Dave Merrington , we really need to make this a battle and see if they fancy it.
  19. Right up to the end I was sure they were going to find out that Georges had lied to Alain and the Romanians had sold him on from the house and not killed him. I thought the Russian bit would have tied into this and the next series wouilkd have joined the dots , and his search via Romania and Russia. It was only when the Russian said to the little boy that " he's done this to children in x,y, and z "that I thought perhaps he'd lost his mind. The Telegraph reviewer stated that Tony himself had etched the figure in the icy window and that it was portraying his refusal to accept the truth. The whole thing had turned him crazy. It was a great piece of drama as it left me still thinking about the conclusion and what it meant hours afterwards. Im not a great fan of the BBC , but that matched any of the great american TV dramas of recent years. I thought it even better than Broadchurch and James Nesbitt was absolutely superb.
  20. One alternative could be a change of wife. Lol I'm lucky as Mrs Duck doesn't drink, the odd Baileys now and then but that's it. We used to have a group of 4 of us who went out every Saturday and took it in turns being the designated driver, so you drove once every month. I used to get so ****ed off when it was my turn that I started dropping them off in town and picking them up at chucking out time, so I didnt have to spend all night sober hanging around with drunk twts. A couple of annoying rides home and I gave that idea a miss, I started paying for a taxi when it was my turn to drive. What about orange juice and lemonade
  21. Sorry, just re read the op. Different characters and situation , so obviously not a continuation. Just wish they'd let us know what happened to the body.
  22. Worked the night shift last night but just watched it on virgin + . I would say they've hedged their bets and could easily run a second series. The only evidence he's dead is Alain said he was and he was told by Georges that he had seen the body .But there was no body found. It is a bit of a stretch , but I can see a story line where the Romanian sold him on. The Russian part opens that up as well. I guess the hard part is getting a believable piece of evidence that makes Tony start searching again, like seeing the scarf in the picture at the start.
  23. I'm with Pap on this one . Surely if you're going to not drink alcohol , then you go for something that tastes nice. Why go for something that looks like beer or lager but tastes like shiete ? I really don't get it. I can't remember the last time I went into a boozer and didn't have a few pints. It seems a bit strange to me, surely it's like visiting a whorehouse and having a wnk. I've always found pubs terribly boring without a few noggins inside of me, but each to their own.
  24. If anybody thinks gaston would have made the slightest bit of difference on a cold and horrible night in Sheffield, or Burnley for that matter , they are deluded.
  25. You've hit the nail on the head , this is the standard of political debate nowadays. Motherhood and apple pie politics. I don't know who said it, but someone once said that if you can't argue the opposite side, then its a meaningless political statement , not a solution or idea. Because of my shift patterns I watch " Daily politics" quite a lot and 80% of statements made by politicians are statements that everyone can agree with. Not because they're right, but because they are meaningless slogans. " We want a decent education for all our kids" , whose going to say we don't. Listen to anyone talking about the NHS and then try and take a contrary position, you'll find you can't. " We want more nurses" , as if anybody is going to argue " no we want less" . There maybe a fake argument around the ways of conning us out of more money to pay for their pet schemes , but overall there are no longer any fundamental ideological differences between the established parties. Brand typifies the new political debate in this country. Anybody can point and describe what's wrong, anybody can throw slogans around to get cheers from their side of the argument. Ordinary Joes in the pub can tell you what's wrong, people on political shows should give you their considered and thought out solutions.
