  1. Surely the only inspiration we need from Boscombe is to keep hold of the Manager that got us promotion. Had Boscombe done this and Howe hadn't gone to Burnley, they would be in a better position than they are now.
  2. Is this NC telling Nige who and how to play new to this season, or was he doing it through our 2 promotions in 2 years? Perhaps some of the ITK posters could let me know?
  3. "Non citizen's demanding the same thing". They do flock in, but not demanding anything (apart from a few exceptions). They just end up getting corrupted by the Welfare system. The Native citizens bit is the key. I dont think it's "without contributing first", "but expecting the government to give them everything they require (and desire)" is spot on. Not a day goes by without someone asking "what is the Government doing about XYZ". Look at the howls of outrage when rich people had their family benefit taken away, when rich old people, after years of booming house prices, endowments and final salary pensions were asked to pay slightly more tax. Turn on Question Time any week and there will be some comfortabley well off person ( do those living in povety appear in the QT audiance) moaning about their lot " I haven't had a pay rise for 2 years", "why should I pay an extra 2% for my pension", "why should I pay for my further education", before the final QT rallying call of "I didn't cause the recession, why should I be punished". Bet you there will be someone on there tonight with some "woe is me" tale to tell. It's always the same. Cant afford to run a car, what is the GovT doing about it, cant afford a house, what is the Govt doing about it, cant afford another child, to live in a £800,000 London house, to buy a pasty, to fund my pension pot, what is the Govt doing about it? We're not talking about people going without food, just people not prepared to make sacrifices and go without stuff. All people seem to want to do is load our children and grandchildren with more national debt to pay for our luxeries. You end up with the ridiculous situation that provided you bribe enough of the electorate at both ends of the scale, with tax cuts & handouts, you'll get elected. People are being bribed with their own money and somehow think it's a good deal.
  4. The Last waltz
  5. I am not convinced we are witnessing the demise of the GOP. They fielded a weak candidate particularly in the present climate.6 months ago I'm sure they had written this one off. The Hispanic vote is always going to be a tricky one for them because of immigration. Having worked in South Florida for a number of years, immigration is the absolute number one issue for them. It really does depend on the candidates selected next time, run with Hillary Clinton and the race will be open. There was a bit of unique situation this time, 4 years is a long time, maybe a moderate Latino republican may emerge.
  6. It's amazing how much better players become when they leave us and we are struggling. Can you imagine the up roar from supporters of Reading or Qpr if they "strengthen" their squads in January by signing Hammond,****ing Harding and Billy S. ffs people need to get a grip. Just because some of our players don't appear to be good enough does not make others we've let go better. I'm waiting for the Surman and Oakley threads because its only a matter of time before the call goes out for them
  7. pulis has done this pretty well at stoke, he has John rudge and I think Gerry Francis and used to have Peter Reid. Personally, despite his skate connection I'd like to see Joe Jordan back at the club in some coaching role
  8. It's funny how Yoshida is getting the blame for the first goal when clearly Morgan bottled it, didn't sprint out to close down the shot and ponced about like a big fairy turning his back. I guess he's exempt from criticism.
  9. I am a massive fan of Nigel and what he's achieved at this club, that said the club means more to me than any one man. The most important thing is the club, and what the club needs now is a few wins and a spirit of togetherness from fans and staff. If there's someone out there available and willing to work at the club ,then lets get him in. We are not at the stage where Nigel has lost the fans and he doesn't appear to have lost the dressing room. There's no point in NC putting Wilkins or someone on charge whilst he looks for a replacement and no point in replacing him with somebody unless they're good enough to turn us round from day one. Personally I think we should give nigel till Liverpool, whist putting feelers out. If Nigel turns it round, great,if not, new guy gets a month until window. That's unless Rafa or someone like him will come in now
  10. This might be worth looking at before people start/continue throwing names into the hat. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-20207408
  11. FFS why isn't QPR included? When are the clowns going to start using the points? Cant wait till March, what are they going to have "supporters who purchased at least 8 tickets out of A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H games" "Supporters who purchased 7 tickets" Supporters who purchased 6 tickets" ect ect. What is so hard about saying Customers with over x amount of points?
  12. What a depressing list. Top one was basically there because most of the nation had a collective meltdown. Second was a charity donation. IMHO Bohemian Rhapsody is the biggest pile of over rated shiete ever recorded.Mull of Kintyre is embaressing for such a great songwritter and performer. Wet Wet Wet, Boney M, Robson & Jerome FFS, even the great man Stevie Wonder's effort in the top 10 is his worst song. If an alien came down and looked at that list and listened to most of the shiete on the list, he'd think we were French, not the country that gave the world some of the greatest music ever produced.
  13. Bobby Simone (Smits) was the best partner Sipowicz had, and he had some good ones. The added bonus of that period was the hot Kim Delaney as his chick. There were some fit officers in NYPD, but she was tops.
  14. Spot on Dear Mr Hollowhead There is a centre back at your average championship club who isn't considered good enough to get near your average side. Could we have him back to help our premiership relegation battle as our defence needs strengthening
  15. I wasn't a fan of the Jam felt they were over rated. That said his solo stuff was top quality , some of the best stuff of the past 20 years and streets ahead of Oasis and others .Saw him live a few years back and was a great show. Not an innovator as someone said, but there aren't many who are. When it comes to making music from 30 onwards I can't think of many better. Townsend, Richards and jagger, Macca couldn't make music into their late 30's/40's like he has done. They just became touring juke boxes. He's clearly not the messi of music, but he is a Paul scholes or Kevin keegan
  16. I was disappointed when the fixtures came out as I did think we had a tough start. That meant our momentum from last season was lost. That said I am disappointed with results and the worrying thing is we are not getting any better. I reckon we are 6 points down from where I hoped we'd be. Meaning we need to win 2 "written off" games, the way we are defending that ain't going to happen. Mon we need to stop the rot 0-0 would be nice. 4 points next week is the minimum .
  17. We are now getting some real pony on this thread now. Anyone who thinks one party or the other would cover this up is deluded. Equally delusional are people who believe ANY party would make political capital out of it.
  18. Totally agree, the greatest cop show, bar none. Dennis Franz's Andy Sipowicz is the bset Cop ever seen on TV.
  19. My Arsenal ones came open and the West Ham ones went to my brother's place instead of mine (his S/T is linked). They really are hopeless.........
  20. Arsenal's defence is pretty awful, if sides get enough of the ball they get taken apart. Bit like us really, although sides obviously get more of the ball against us. I wouldn't hold Arsenal's defencive coach up as a good example. Bit too simplistic to take the line "X was a good defender, he'll make a good defensive coach". Any oldies on here who remember George Graham as a player will know, he couldn't defend for toffee, yet he drilled Arsenal's back 4 into the best defensive unit in the modern day game.
  21. ****inh hell, imagine the meltdown on here if SRL or Lallana had picked up an injury at Leeds and was out for 6 weeks.
  22. Matt had the best 18 months of his career prior to Dave taking over, the fact is bally got more out of him,so you have confirmed my point. Had he remained in charge we would have gone down . As a pundit he's Ron Manager he needs to go
  23. Dave took over a team that finished top half under bally with matt le toss having his purple patch, just avoiding relegation on goal difference was a poor effort and he was rightly fired. So as a manager he was pretty poor and as a commentator he is hopeless, it's like listening to my 75 year old dad waffling on . I'm not convinced it's not a Partridge sketch. Contrast him with people like Neville and Souness . He adds nothing and has no insights . What winds me up most is his co commentator agreeing with every word and the plums texting in. "I am sat here in new Milton listening and we need to do xyz " ....ffs
  24. To be fair to the guy, he was fantastic last season. I meet a Sunderland fan on holiday and he was saying he couldn't believe we were promoted with "that clown in goal". I said he was great last season and after SRL the main reason we were promoted, he just laughed at me.
  25. "Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has no regrets about his refusal to shake hands with Rangers players - because he does not like them or their club." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/celtic/7057835.stm I would love him to play in a cup game against the Skates.
