  1. The Club had an overdraft limit and we went over it. That is down to Lowe, nobody else. He turned down offers for players in Jan despite the bank pushing for player sales. The bank just didn't withdraw the Overdraft for no reason, Lowe went over it and the Bank pulled the plug. He didn't go into admin after the deadline out of spite, it was incompetance. He thought he could bluff the bank, he didn't believe the bank would pull the carpet from under him.He made a stunning misjudgement and totally misjudged Barclay's position.
  2. This talk of Crouch investing £2mil to save us from admin is nonsense. Once Barclays bounced Cheques they were making a statement. "The game was up". Put it like this, we have Season Ticket renewals coming up(which is gate money up front), we have a transfer window coming up (we could sell, sell, sell). We had contracts coming to an end. Why would the bank put us into admin at this stage of the season, over a small amount? The answer clearly is, they lost faith in Lowe. Instead of asking why Crouch didn't invest his £2mil, questions should be asked as to why offers for Lallana and Surman were turned down in Jan. barclays statement clearly states they asked for player's to be sold. WHY WERE'NT THEY.
  3. There's no way we'll get this near the end of the season and we wont fulfill our fixtures. Our results will be struck from the record and someone could be relegated or not promoted because of that, the League/FA will not want to deal with the fall out of that. Between them the League, FA, and PFA will find a way to pay the players and finish the season.
  4. You can hardly compare Barry Horne's goal (which the keeper should have saved IMO) to the goal which won a tricky away tie, and set up an all English Champions League Semi Final. Le Tiss scored some great goals, but Ronaldo, Like him or hate him, has scored important goals and given some fantastic performances at a much higher level. Although admiring Matt's loyalty, the real shame is he didn't get a chance to shine(as I've no doubt he would have, if managed properly) at the same sort of level.
  5. We needed Lowe? For what? To keep us out of admin-Failed To keep us in the CCC-Failed. 8 Months down the line, we're a complete and utter shambles.Perhaps you could enlighten us as to Lowe's sucsess second time round.Because it's hard to see how it could be any worse.
  6. My understanding was Leeds appeal was to the other FL Clubs, they could not resort to the courts, as this right was signed away.
  7. If we aren't deducted the 10 points, then the League will not be able to withhold the Golden Share, as the Club would not have been in Admin. However, If the League proved the Club went into Admin and we can not exit with a CVA, we have to accept any terms the League impose on us to get it back. It could be payback time for Lowe's loophole. To receive their share the Club have to sign their right of legal action away.
  8. I agree with this line in yesterday's Mail "Rupert Lowe, Southampton’s former chairman and chief executive, may have made a career of getting relegated and pointing fingers"
  9. The rules were set up to prevent teams gaining an advantage by going into Admin and having debts written off ala Leicester and Pompey. Derby's holding Company did go into admin, however the new owners then paid off the debt in full, within days. This meant Derby did not gain an advantage from other Clubs with debt, that stayed out of admin. As the League can not know at this early stage whether our debts will be paid off in full, I fail to see how they can make a decision tomorrow. Personally I think they'll go for the points deduction and await legal action, or will delay the decision. Either way I can not see an annoucement that we're off the hook coming tomorrow. It's either bad news or a delay.
  10. I think the league will try and deduct the points and then leave it for us to take legal action to get them back. That way they will have all the other Clubs onboard and will seen to have been acting consistantly. Personally I cant see them coming out and admitting they'd left a loophole open. The issue then becomes who'll take legal action on our before. It will require plenty of money and fight to get this points back. ken Bates went all the way with Leeds -15 (unsucsessfully as it happened) because he knew he was going to be the new owner and it'll effect him. Who is going to fight our cause? The Administrator? Not likely, Lowe and Wilde? Not a chance. Leon Crouch? Maybe. Legally the FL could be on dodgey ground deducting the points, but who'll defend our interests? New owners will proberly want to but, If we go down as a result of the -10, the Sheff Utd senerio has shown, that it'll be too late to reinstate us. The best we can hope for is starting next season in League 1 with nil points.
  11. If the banks had as much faith in Lowe as some seem to have, and they were telling Lowe to reduce costs, which his supporters claim he has. Why on earth did they pull the plug now? Why did they bounce 3 cheques after he claims they agreed to honour them. Surely if Lowe was doing such a good job it would have been in their interests to hold out for another couple of months. In those 2 months Seson Ticket (which is gate money upfront) money would come in. Some high wage earners were out of contract and others could be sold early summer. Surely they would have waited to see what league we'd be in before pulling the plug. Personally it looks to me like they lost faith in Lowe, didn't think he'd kept his promises, or thought he was a block to investment and any chance of them getting their money back.
  12. And beating up his pregnant girlfriend, an offence he aceptted a Police Caution for.
  13. But he was rubbish when he was fit. Look at his record. This signing tells you everything you need to know about Rupert Lowe and his running of our Club. Totally and utterly clueless.
  14. He should have scored.
  15. He missed a sitter 5 minutes before he scored.
  16. Cause Redknapp's done nothing since he left us. If he was stuck in the dark ages, modern class players wouldn't want to play for him. Since Redknapp left, name one thing that indicates Lowe/SCW were right and Redknapp was wrong.
  17. Personally I think Rupert came back to stop this happeneing, or a least make it harder for him.
  18. There is no way Kelvin Davis will play in League 1 and there's not much chance he'll take reduced wages.
  19. Well I'm not an architect, but surely we could have done better. Personally I would have prefered the stands nearer the pitch creating a similar feeling as at the Dell. Rupert had the chance to start a new era in a unique stadium, tailor made for us and tailored to our needs. He didn't have the vision to pull it off, nor would I have been able to, however, I wasn't paid to do so.
  20. I think we were so desperate for a new stadium we overlooked the obvious failings of SMS. Rupert had the chance to show some vision and foresight, and build a stadium to be proud of, but instead we've got a stadium looking tired already. As you say the stands are too far away, and unless packed to the rafters, it is rather souless. Another missed oppurtunity Rupert.
  21. When McG plays regulary in the Premiership, when he scores a FA Cup Semi Final goal, then perhaps we can compare him to Ormerod. Ormerod wasn't quite good enough for the Premiership, but made the most of his limitted talent. McG is CCC at best, but seems to think he's something special.
  22. I thought I was going to have to work Saturday, but in the end I didn't. It was too late to get tickets (not that I tried that hard) so decided to have a round of golf with a couple of mates. Had a throughly enjoyable day,*****il the football results came in), a few beers afterwards and it cost me less than a trip to SMS. The Mrs was happy as I was home earlier, and in a better state than normal, and my blood pressure was proberly a lot lower as well. Obviously the weather being nice made the round better( and I played ok) but started me thinking that there could be nicer things to do on a Saturday.
  23. We got thumped 5-0 at Hull and still stayed up. Billy Davies has a very good record in this league.
  24. If Jim Smith was "let go" because he had a drink problem, then Lowe did the right thing by citing finance as an issue. Better that than drag a respected football man's name through the mud (even if he was a Skate).
