This is it. Anyone who thinks these nutters are only going to do it because of Israel’s “disproportionate” reaction to 7/10 is fucking deluded. That’s just the latest excuse. “If innocent Palestinians hadn’t suffered, I wouldn’t be stabbing people to death in Covent Garden ” said Mohammad 23 from Tower Hamlets after his arrest. “Those damn Jews made me do it”.

I think it’s 10/1. I heard an expert say you need 10 Israeli soldiers for every Hamas fighter, he went on to add that this was before all the miles of tunnels were taken into account. He also pointed out that the Israeli forces included a massive amount of reservists that will make it even trickier as they’re not as well trained as professional full time soldiers. He said the sheer number of soldiers needed to take Gaza would leave the Israelis vulnerable in the North unless the Americans stepped in and protected that flank from Hezbollah. I’m sure our Isreal critics urging them to get Hamas without bombing it first, will be up in arms if they got involved. If Isreal wanted to defeat Hamas it had to roll the pitch first. I guess there’s a humanitarian argument to be had that the loss of life will be too great to defeat Hamas (one I don’t subscribe to), so they shouldn’t have tried. But to argue they should do so without bombing it and making it less dangerous for their troops is ridiculous in the extreme. That anyone believes they could go in there and defeat Hamas using a ground invasion only is unbelievable. If you believe they have the right to destroy Hamas, then there’s only one way they can do this.

You can’t be serious? If they went into Gaza without bombing it first, they’d be massacred. “Go in and get the terrorists”, fuck me, do you think it’s that simple. They’d face losses that were unsustainable, losses on a scale that would put the country at risk, and that’s before Israeli public opinion is taken into account.

That throughout history innocent people have died because of the actions of those that lived amongst them & perpetrated evil in their name. Every single one of the thousands that have died since 7/10 would be alive now if it wasn’t for their fellow Palestinians attacking Jews.

How many innocent men, women & children died? And do you consider the dropping of those bombs a war crime?

17 MPs actually voted against proscribing Hamas as a terrorist group. No surprise that Corbyn, McDonnell & Abbott were amongst them, people who would now be PM, Chancellor & Home Secretary had certain posters got the election result they wanted. Frightening to think of those 3 spearheading The UK’s response to 7/10.

On the balance of probabilities there were a large number of people inciting hatred, but that’s not how our courts determine guilt. I imagine plod have quite a lot of of footage from body cameras and other sources & some who crossed over into “beyond a reasonable doubt” territory will be having their collars felt over the next few days. They probably made an operational decision not to arrest people on the day, because it would only inflame things.

I wrote amongst Hamas controlled Palestine. The relevance is you’re trying to claim that Hamas wouldn’t murder Jews once they got everything they wanted. If Isreal didn’t exist or went back to its 1948 borders, Hamas would still murder jews. Which is the exact reason Isreal will never ever give up control of the West Bank.

Isreal could have decimated Gaza in 2005, it didn’t it, withdrew and left it to the Palestinian’s. If Hamas could decimate Isreal, it would. No fucking doubt about it. Jews can’t live peacefully in a Hamas controlled area, 21% of Israeli population is Arabs or non Jews. They even have a Muslim cabinet minister, I’d love to see how long a Jew would last in the Hamas leadership team. Exactly right. But the problem with a 2 state solution is the West Bank. We pretty much had a 2 state situation prior to 7/10, but it obviously didn’t include The West Bank. Gaza, for all intent and purposes is a Palestinian state, so the real dispute is The West Bank. Isreal will never give it up, will never weaken its resolve to control it, because of it’s importance militarily. Palestinian’s consider it as their land just as much as they do Gaza, so The West Bank issue contaminants Gaza because the Israelis left Gaza years ago. In a perfect world we’d probably be looking at the sort of fudge that gave us peace in Ireland. An Israeli state, a Palestinian state in Gaza, and Ulster type fudge secured by the UN in The West Bank. But it’ll never happen in a million years, not a fucking hope in hell.

Seeing as the Brexit party & before that UKIP, both proposed PR & both were against FPTP. Added to the fact Reforms leader has spoken out constantly against FPTP, I don’t think your comment is quite as clever or funny as you thought it was.

The problem Isreal has got is keeping their citizens safe whilst allowing Palestinians to build the society they (as in Palestinian’s) want in Gaza. There was a window of opportunity when they withdrew in 2005 but the major players in the region didn’t take it. Had oil rich Arab states, The US, and particularly Egypt put their weight behind it, infrastructures could have been put in place which didn’t need reliance on Isreal. It could be a beautiful part of the world, living beside Isreal in a similar way the Egyptians do in Sinai. Instead of that the major players bunged it a bit of money, let Iran gain an unhealthy influence and let Isreal remain the bad guys. Pony like “open prison” doesn’t help because countries have the right to forcefully defend their borders. As we have seen, they actually need to forcefully defend their borders a bit more rigorously then the actually have been. Hamas incarcerated Palestinians in that “open prison”, not Isreal. The real complication is The West Bank. Isreal will never give up occupancy as it’s important militarily, their mindset (which I agree with) is, if they give that up the nation will always be in danger and it’s importance to Isreal actually continuing to exist can not be over stated. Long at a map of 1948, and it’s madness that Britain and others gave Isreal the border it did with Jordan. So when people talk about a 2 state solution, it’s simply not going to happen if it includes The West Bank. It’s really a 3 state (or area) solution that is needed. Isreal, Gaza & West Bank, and god knows what West Bank solution will be acceptable to both sides.

Once maybe, twice perhaps, over a dozen times? Blaming Jews for the actions of Israel is anti semitic. He’s done this over and over and not just in this thread. Despite people on his side of this debate pointing it out to him, he still does it. So I’m afraid it is a question of dopey or anti semitic.
