McCarthy is a perfectly acceptable back up. An experienced keeper is exactly what you want to fulfil that role. He’s just proved that with his performances in the play offs & has earnt a new contract (provided he’s not greedy). Focused and professional despite not featuring for most of the season, the last thing you need is an unproven back up that shits himself when the pressure is on. It’s not his fault our number one is pony. A proper decent number 1, with McCarthy as back up, lumley as 3rd choice and Baz on loan somewhere, we’re not going to get much better options than that.

No, no no. Absolutely fucking no. I like Jack, always have. He’s got something about him, bit of spirit & leadership, but it never works even when you’re talking about proper top players like Gareth Southgate or John Stones. Decent centre half on the ball, and supporters start thinking about CDM. It’s one thing a centre half drifting into midfield, or doing it when you’ve got 70% of the ball, like City do. But it’s a totally different role & he’ll get found out. Being able to play centre half, either full back or in a 3, together with his leadership & spirit gets him a squad place, but midfielder..no thanks.

So you don’t want to see the same team, you actually want someone who couldn’t get in the team, to be in the team…. FFS. We need a keeper, left back & a centre forward. Players like Jack, Adam Armstrong, Manning will play an important role in the squad & deserve to be around the club. With players like Rothwell, Brooke’s, Adams & Stu Armstrong leaving there is plenty of scope to bring in 2 or 3 starters. Sulemana has had his chance, we need to get rid asap.

These are my feelings exactly, and it took an injury for him to play our best goalkeeper. That said, he did everything he was asked and got us promoted at the first attempt. He’s delivered some fantastic football this season, but also some horrendous boring possession based slow dross. He was right about Jack Stephens, his leadership & spirit were needed when it mattered. I also thought he acted with class at the end of the game as well, so perhaps he wasn’t quite the cock I thought he was. He’s shown yesterday that when we have less of the ball (as we undoubtedly will do next season as well) he can finally set us up to defend properly. McCarthy has been fantastic during the play offs, a major reason we came through them. He was everything you want from a keeper, and even his kicking was up to standard. If this doesn’t prove the value of a decent keeper, then nothing will. Personally, I think Baz’s injury was a blessing in disguise and deep down I’m sure Lego knows it.

I’m not telling people how they should feel, their feelings are irrelevant. I was merely stating why Israel occupied the West Bank. Being surrounded by countries who deny your right to exist, means you have to protect yourselves military which is why the Israelis eventually launched the 6 day war. Had the Arab league not attacked Israel the morning after the British mandate ended, things might have been different. Egypt & most other countries now seem to accept Israelis right to exist, so they’ve moved on since 1948. I imagine this is due to Israelis military strategy & strength, rather than some sort of enlightenment.
