What’s wrong with just putting your arm up, shaking a couple of hands & then running back to the half way line. Somebody once said (I think it may have been Shanks), that you should act like it’s an everyday occurrence, that it was no big deal, you got a chance & buried it because that’s what you do. Nobody I’ve met considers Steve Williams, Danny Wallace or Ricky Lambert mercenaries. Even Alan Shearer, who fucked off the minute he had the chance, isn’t thought of like that. People are justifiably proud that we started Alan on his road to being a great. In years to come people will remember Prowse for his 400 odd games, his years of service & his free kicks. Nobody with any sense will think any worse of him because he wanted to stay in the top flight.

Excellent start, affected them game, injected some much needed directness and looked up for it. The thing I like about him is the way he demands the ball & the runs he makes make it easy to pick him out. Obviously too early to get too excited but from that short glimpse he could be a real asset.

I don’t need statistics to tell me he was fucking pony last season, my bins can do that. Got to laugh at the Bazenettes parsing him because he hasn’t made a Cock up yet this season (apart from the horrific attempt against Norwich when the Lino bailed him out, and preseason). When he actually starts stopping shots that others would let in, that’s the time to praise him. To go up we will need a keeper gaining us points well as not losing us any. I’ve seen nothing yet to suggest he’s going to do that yet.
