You must be kidding. I can talk to friends and say that my brother is a **** and it wouldn't offend anyone. If one of my friends suddenly announced that my brother was a ****, I would be annoyed and defend him. I could say that my wife was being stupid when I was talking to a mate. If my mate one day told me he thought my wife was stupid, I'd say he was out of order and the same if it were the other way around. On here I could say that I think most saints fans are a pretty sad bunch and half the board would agree. If a group of Pompey fans said that Saints were a pathetic bunch, I wouldn't accept it. I see no problem or hypocrisy in members of an ethnic group using words to describe each other that they wouldn't find acceptable from somebody outside that culture. We all do it all the time. Things have a very different connotation depending on whether they are being used on the inside or from the outside.

I had a friend request from a player in a team above saints in the CCC yesterday. He was on the bench last time they played us, but is in the team pretty regularly. Was an England under 19 as well. True story. I know who he is but didn't even know he was playing professionally. I never bother with the status thingy, can't see the point.

I haven't seen this film in years, then, yesterday I get three students handing in essays about it (they could choose any film) and then it appears here. I think I'll have to watch it again, maybe with one of my classes. Isn't it great when you can watch a movie and get paid for it? Edward Norton can at times be superb, gotta love Fight Club too.

Amen, we are heavily taxed here but there is plenty to make up for it and despite not really being paid more, I'm far better off than I ever was in England. For a start, I was able to buy land (1100 sq m by the sea) and build a decent size house for less than 150k (2 years ago), now worth much more than double that. I also never buy on credit since I emigrated. So none of this credit stuff affects me as my mortgage payments are my only worry. We do get a year off with kids on 80% pay. I still think it should be more. Before I emigrated a few years ago I lived in a shared house, had no savings and owed money on my car and a couple of credit accounts. I live on crappy teacher pay too. Emigrating was the best thing I ever did. You'd be surprised at how different Britain looks from the outside.

I live on an island connected to the mainland by under-sea tunnel (disappointingly not transparent), which you can't walk or cycle through. So if you haven't got a car (or boat) you're stranded. I've picked up quite a few people and taken them through, including desperate looking teenagers who have missed their school bus. Mostly I don't though as the back seat is taken up by kid seats and the front seat is nearly always covered in junk/bags. Have hitched a couple of times myself, but not alone and not far.

How the hell have we managed that after the fiasco that was Reading away? This makes a mockery of the game as far as I'm concerned.

I hate this common tactic in argument by both left wing and right wing groups. Taking something that has been argued by one side and casually stating it as a now accepted fact when it isn't anything of the sort. There are still plenty of ways in which different cultures live side by side happily. Immigration has also been regulated for many years, that's why we have the phrase "illegal immigrant". What you're saying is that you don't agree with current regulations or the way in which they are enforced.

So is it only immigrants who are not white that are a problem. What if my Norwegian wife moved to England with me and got a job? Would she be coming over and stealing a job, or is it okay because you wouldn't be able to see that she was an immigrant. I'm an immigrant now, but luckily I don't have to put up with idiots like some on here.

Why are some people complaining that people are voting for Bridge because he's recent? Have you noticed there are no candidates before the sixties? Does this mean there were no talented left backs in the 70 odd year history of saints before Dennis Hollywood? Or is it in fact perfectly correct that more recent players are more likely to get chosen regardless of how good older players were?

Can you back this up? I've not heard this before. Do you mean as in fairies and leprechauns or as in Ronnie Corbett?

I love this film and I'm a bit worried that it's probably the next film in line for a crappy Hollywood remake. It has several of the finest comedy acting performances ever, most of them by Alec Guiness. Even worse, they'll probably try to have a go at "It's a Wonderful Life" sooner or later.

I've met both Wiltshire Saint and Tiggs on a number of (seperate) occasions and can confirm that they are both the same person. I would say Atticus Finch is even more so.

Would be bad for us, but good for Surman and Stoke, so I can see it happening. Tragic that going to Stoke is now an upward move for a saints player.
