Joey-deacons-left-nut replied to Joey-deacons-left-nut's topic in The Lounge
ah cool, i'll be there at 6:30am ish... -
I'm hoping to park there tomorrow, but i've just read that there are improvements going on, is the car park still open on the Eastleigh side???

I'm glad the football creditors rule existed for Pompey...without it the 1st year of parachute dosh would have been pocketed... With it, it was spent without the Filth having a choice...out of 40m they effectively lost 25m of handouts...

My sons first game today, looking forward to it!

free to talk to other clubs in the last year of their contracts iirc..

"our award-winning manager has created a winning mentality" IN the team yeah... but for the rest of us it's a feelign we get from 30 odd years of dissapointment!

Utter genius!!! -
We would have been fine if the Parachute money hadn't ended... would have been nice to have 4 years instead of two... still, it's the best thing that could have happened to us.
-
And before you start, the difference between us now and what happened at Pompey is that we have a clear business plan on how tostart generating revenue, wheras Pompey blatantly had no idea how it was going to cover it's outgoings and basically stuck it's head in the sand whilst still continuing to spunk cash left, right and centre.
-
Are you really that thick??? The aim is to get back to the Premiership. To do that we have to imrpove the playing squad etc to get back there. This will mean spending more money than we get in. However, once you get in the Premiership the plan (may be) is to start generating revenue, this will wipe out the previous years debts. Hence we have a 5 year plan. The "loans" are just a tax efficient way (For Markus) of funneling funds into the club. I'd imagine the gov. will eventually start cracking down on these types of loans soon (I wonder how much the tax man has lost out on Abramovichs for instance)

I'd say that it's none of your fcking business why people leave early. It doesn't make them any less of a fan. It's not a competition to see who's the bestest. Why don't you concern yourself with supporting your team and worry less about others. Never understood why people moan about people leaving early or pickign which games they go to.

Why didnt you lock your doors when you saw him approaching??

Article on the league one automatic promotion race
Joey-deacons-left-nut replied to saintsmike25's topic in The Saints
It's Brighton, no one cares about them. -
Let's be honest. The Northern is full of d1cks. I should know, i'm one of them. It's the lary section, where you go if you want a bit of banter and are proper plastered! All you have to do is loko at the amount of people "giving it large" to the away fans all the time and singing about Pompey. The rest of the ground is far more mild mannered.. if you want to listen to well thought out and ballanced opinion son how we're playing go sit in one of the other stands. If you want to listen to cretins with an avaerage IQ of 70 and have some daft ideas yourself (I know I do!) sit in the Northern!

He's a manager. Pretty much the whole job is about motivating your players, hence he's using language straight out of a motivational guide. The players, by and large, can look after themselves, all Nigel can do is pick players and get them gee'd up for the game.
-
From their point of view it probably wasn't.
-
He's honest. I know one of the linos who did one of our home games a month or so ago. There was some controversy about one of our goals being disallowed and he had a bit of a go at the officials at full time. 30 mins later they got a knock on their changing room door and it was Adkins. He'd watched a replay and the decision was spot on and he'd made the effort to come and apologise to them. They were quite taken aback by this and really appreciated it.

Libel Ruling RE: Internet Forums
Joey-deacons-left-nut replied to Alain Perrin's topic in The Lounge
Well obviously taht's the way you do it (fairly easy as the ISp has a log of which accont had what IP at what date/time), but being able to "find the home address and landline of most of the forum members using their IP address" within 5 mins is plainly bull. The only people who can do taht are the Police and the Courts. Even then it's not 5 mins. -

The only Ip you can feasibly get is one from the ISP's range. Some ISP's won't even display that as they will be NAT'd. For other ones you'l be lucky if you get as specific as the rough geographical area. For instance, I live in Romsey and I come up as Andover as that's the site where I'm routed through to get out onto the net. I think someones watched two many episodes of 24 and got confused between real life and the fantasy world they inhabit. -

???? How the hell can you find out from someone's IP where they live? All you will get is the ISP they are connected to. If you want their address you have to go through the courts to force the ISP to give up those details. -
It's done to secure funding but keep it for the use for the general public. If it ends up qualifying for competition standard it's use to the local population plummets and so do revenues.
